Padukone, the daughter of the badminton player Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and raised in Bangalore. As a teenager, she played badminton in national level championships but left her career in the sport to become a fashion model. She soon received offers for film roles and made her acting debut in 2006 as the title character of the Kannada film Aishwarya. Padukone then played a dual role in her first Bollywood release, the romance Om Shanti Om (2007), which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Padukone received praise for portraying the lead roles in the romance Love Aaj Kal (2009) and the drama Lafangey Parindey (2010), but her performances in the romance Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) and the comedy Housefull (2010) were met with negative reviews.

The romantic comedy Cocktail (2012) marked a turning point in Padukone's career, earning her praise and Best Actress nominations at several award ceremonies. She established herself with starring roles in the romantic comedies Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express (both 2013), the heist comedy Happy New Year (2014), and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period dramas Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Padmaavat (2018), all of which rank among the highest-grossing Indian films. Padukone's acclaimed portrayal of a character based on Juliet in Bhansali's tragic romance Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013) and a headstrong architect in the comedy-drama Piku (2015) earned her two Filmfare Awards for Best Actress. Her first project in Hollywood came with the action film xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017).

Early life and modelling career

Padukone was born on 5 January 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Konkani-speaking parents. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is a former badminton player of international repute, and her mother, Ujjala, is a travel agent. Her younger sister, Anisha, is a golfer. Her paternal grandfather, Ramesh, was a secretary of the Mysore Badminton Association. The family relocated to Bangalore, India when Padukone was a year old. She was educated at Bangalore's Sophia High School and completed her pre-university education at Mount Carmel College. She subsequently enrolled at the Indira Gandhi National Open University for a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology but later quit it due to scheduling conflicts with her modelling career.

Padukone has admitted to being socially awkward as a child and did not have many friends. The focus of her life was badminton, which she played competitively from a young age. Describing her daily routine in a 2012 interview, Padukone said, "I would wake up at five in the morning, go for physical training, go to school, again go for playing badminton, finish my homework, and go to sleep." Padukone continued to pursue a career in badminton throughout her school years and played the sport in national level championships. She also played baseball in a few state level tournaments. While concentrating on her education and sporting career, Padukone also worked as a child model, first appearing in a couple of advertising campaigns at the age of eight. In the tenth grade, she changed focus and decided to become a fashion model. She later explained, "I realised that I was playing the game only because it ran in the family. So, I asked my father if I could give up the game and he wasn't upset at all." In 2004, she began a full-time career as a model under the tutelage of Prasad Bidapa.

Early in her career, Padukone gained recognition with a television commercial for the soap Liril and modelled for various other brands and products. In 2005, she made her runway debut at the Lakme Fashion Week for designer Suneet Varma and won the "Model of the Year" award at the Kingfisher Fashion Awards. Padukone's fame increased when she appeared in a highly popular print campaign for the 2006 Kingfisher Calendar; the designer Wendell Rodricks commented, "Since Aishwarya Rai, we haven't had a girl as beautiful and fresh." Rodricks had spotted her at a Ganjam jewellery class he was teaching and signed her up with the Matrix agency. At the age of 21, Padukone relocated to Mumbai and stayed at her aunt's home. That year, she gained wider recognition by featuring in the music video for Himesh Reshammiya's song "Naam Hai Tera."

Padukone soon began to receive offers for film roles. Believing herself to be too inexperienced as an actor, she instead enrolled for a course at Anupam Kher's film academy. Following much media speculation, the director Farah Khan, who had noticed her in Reshammiya's music video, made the decision to cast her for a role in Happy New Year.

Padukone is next set to reprise the role of Serena Unger in the fourth instalment of the xXx film series. She has also committed to star as the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in a biopic by Meghna Gulzar, which will mark her first production venture.

Born in Ayodhya and raised in Bangalore, Sharma had her first modelling assignment for the fashion designer Wendell Rodricks in 2007 and later moved to Mumbai to pursue a full-time career as a model. She made her acting debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the highly successful romantic film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), which earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Actress nomination. She rose to prominence with starring roles in Yash Raj Films' romances Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) and Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012); the latter, in which she played an aspiring filmmaker, won her a Best Supporting Actress award at Filmfare.

Sharma went on to earn praise and several acting nominations for playing an avenger in the 2015 crime thriller NH10, which also marked her production debut, a dancer in the 2015 comedy-drama Dil Dhadakne Do, and a free-spirited woman in the 2016 romantic drama Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Sharma's highest-grossing releases came with the sports drama Sultan (2016), and Rajkumar Hirani's religious satire PK (2014) and biopic Sanju (2018); all three rank among the highest-grossing Indian films.

In addition to acting in films, Sharma is the ambassador for multiple brands and products and has designed her own line of clothing for women, named Nush. Sharma made her acting debut in Aditya Chopra's romantic drama Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She took a day to prepare for her screen test at the Yash Raj Films studio and refused to do an impromptu one. She was signed for a three-film deal with the company and landed the leading role of Tani Sahni, a young bride to a middle-aged man, portrayed by Khan. Khalid Mohamed of Hindustan Times found her to be "assured and upright" in the film, but Nikhat Kazmi thought that she "lacks all chutzpah and can barely hold your attention". The film was a major commercial success, emerging as the second-highest grossing Hindi film of that year, and earned Sharma Filmfare Award nominations for Best Actress and Best Female Debut. Sharma's first film release of 2018 was the supernatural horror film Pari, which she starred in and produced. Radhika Reddy, a 36-year-old news presenter for a Telugu TV channel allegedly committed suicide on Sunday night by jumping from the fifth floor of her house in Hyderabad's Moosapet. Shortly after presenting the news on TV, she came to the house and at around 10:40 PM went to the fifth floor of the building and jumped, the police said. Suicide note recovered from her bag suggested depression to be the cause of her death. Police said that the anchor died instantly due to the impact. She suffered critical injuries to her head, a leg fracture and multiple blunt injuries. A case was registered and Radhika Reddy's body has been shifted to a state-run hospital. A post-mortem will be conducted today.

हिंदी फिल्मों के हीरो के तमाम गुणों को समेटे टाइगर श्रॉफ ने जब पहली बार सिल्वर स्क्रीन पर दस्तक दी थी, तो मासूम चेहरे के कारण उनकी सफलता पर शक किया गया, मगर जैसे ही पहली ही फ़िल्म ‘हीरोपंती’ में टाइगर की प्रतिभा की पोटली खुलनी शुरू हुई, सबकी आंखें खुली रह गयी। टाइगर ने शानदार अभिनय, जोरदार डांस और दमदार एक्शन से सबको अपना मुरीद बना लिया। सिर्फ तीन फ़िल्म पुराने टाइगर आज नयी पीढ़ी के भरोसेमंद स्टार कलाकार बन चुके हैं।

फ़िल्मी पृष्ठभूमि में पले-बढ़े होने के बावजूद कभी स्टार-सन होने का गुरुर उनमें नहीं आया। इसकी वजह उनकी परवरिश है। पिता जैकी श्रॉफ के बिंदास व्यक्तित्व की छत्रछाया में टाइगर का बचपन बीता। टाइगर का मौलिक नाम जय हेमन्त श्रॉफ़ है। मुम्बई के अमेरिकन स्कूल ऑफ बॉम्बे और एमिटी यूनिवर्सिटी से पढ़ाई पूरी करने के बाद टाइगर ने फिल्मों में प्रवेश के लिए खुद पर मेहनत करना शुरू किया। मार्शल आर्ट में टाइगर की विशेष रुचि है। जिम्नास्टिक में भी वे पारंगत हैं। जिम्नास्टिक पृष्ठभूमि होने के कारण वे हमेशा चुस्ती-फुर्ती और ऊर्जा से भरे रहते हैं।
प्रवेश
हिंदी फिल्मों में प्रवेश के लिए टाइगर काफी पहले से तैयार थे, इसलिए उनके डेब्यू को लेकर कयासों का बाज़ार अर्से से गर्म था। कभी कहा गया कि टाइगर धारावाहिक ‘फौजी’ के रीमेक से डेब्यू करेंगे, तो कभी सुभाष घई के ‘हीरो’ के रीमेक से टाइगर के डेब्यू की बात कही गयी।..मगर टाइगर ने अपनी डेब्यू फ़िल्म के रूप में साजिद नाडियाडवाला की ‘हीरोपंती’ को चुना। पहली ही

फ़िल्म में टाइगर ने अभिनय, नृत्य और एक्शन का ऐसा जादू चलाया कि ‘हीरोपंती’ उस वर्ष की सफल फिल्मों में शामिल हो गयी। और इस तरह हिंदी फिल्मों को टाइगर के रूप में एक और स्टार अभिनेता मिल गया।

प्रेरणा
पापा जैकी श्रॉफ को टाइगर अपने जीवन की प्रेरणा मानते हैं, मगर फ़िल्मी फ्रंट पर उनकी प्रेरणा कोई और है। जहां तक एक्शन की बात है, तो टाइगर अपने प्रिय जैकी चैन से प्रेरित होते हैं। वह बताते हैं-जैकी चैन मेरी प्रेरणा हैं। मुझे ऐसा लगता है कि मैं उनका एक प्रतिशत भी नहीं हूं। मैं एक्शन दृश्यों में रचनात्मकता के लिए कड़ी मेहनत कर रहा हूं।’ अक्षय कुमार से भी टाइगर बेहद प्रभावित हैं। वह कहते हैं-मुझे अक्षय सर ने साफ शब्दों में कहा है कि कोई भी ऐसा स्टंट मत करना, जिससे तुम्हारी सेहत का जोखिम खड़ा हो जाए। मैं उनकी बात पर अमल करता हूं। सच कहूं तो मुझे अक्षय सर से काफी प्रेरणा मिलती है।’ …मगर सही मायने में टाइगर के आदर्श रितिक रोशन हैं। वह कहते हैं-फिल्म-जगत में रितिक सर मेरे आदर्श हैं। मैं उनके जैसा करिअर ग्राफ बनाना चाहता हूं। जब भी मैं उनसे मिला तो मुझे लगा कि मैं उनके ही जैसा हूं, क्योंकि काम में वह हर छोटी से छोटी चीज पर ध्यान देते हैं, छोटी-छोटी बातों पर तनाव लेते हैं। मैंने उनसे बहुत कुछ सीखा। मैं उनके क्राफ्ट की समझदारी, एक्शन और शरीर की भाषा का बहुत सम्मान करता हूं।’
प्रशंसा
टाइगर श्रॉफ ने अपनी मेहनत, लगन और हुनर के बल पर हिंदी फ़िल्मी दुनिया में अपने लिए अलग जमीन तलाश ली है। वे अपनी पीढ़ी के अभिनेताओं में शुमार तो हैं, मगर एक अलग पहचान के साथ। उनके प्रशंसकों में बाल दर्शकों की संख्या अधिक है। बच्चे अपने प्रिय टाइगर के स्टंट, डांस और बाल-सुलभ व्यक्तित्व के प्रशंसक हैं। अपने सुलझे और शांत व्यवहार के कारण निर्माता-निर्देशकों के भी पसंदीदा कलाकारों की सूची में टाइगर शुमार हैं। अपनी फिटनेस और अनुशासित जीवनशैली के कारण भी टाइगर सराहे जाते हैं। टाइगर की प्रशंसा में जॉन अब्राहम कहते हैं-मैं टाइगर की स्वस्थ जीवन शैली और सक्रियता का प्रशंसक हूं। वह उत्सुक, मेहनती, उत्साही हैं।’ सराहना और प्रशंसा ने टाइगर को और शांत और सहज बना दिया है। वह कहते हैं-मुझे लगता है कि यह सब मैंने पापा से सीखा है। सब जानते हैं कि पापा की फर्स्ट फिल्म जब रिलीज हुई, उसके बाद भी वह चॉल में रहते थे। उनके रहने और बातचीत में कोई बदलाव नहीं आया है। आज वह इतने बड़े स्टार हैं लेकिन उन्होंने अपनी वास्तविकता नहीं खोई है। तो मैं भी मानता हूं कि मैं सफलता को अपने सिर पर नहीं चढ़ने दूंगा। मैं अपने पापा से बहुत प्रेरित हूं।’
श्रद्धा की नजर में
टाइगर जैसा कोई हो ही नहीं सकता। ‘बागी’ की शूट के दौरान उन्होंने मेरा काफी मनोबल बढ़ाया। इतना ही नहीं, फिल्म में टाइगर के साथ काम कर के काफी मदद मिली और कई टिप्स भी मिले जो मेरे लिए काफी मददगार साबित हुए। मुझे याद है स्कूल के दौरान टाइगर बास्केटबॉल खेलते थे और वे काफी एनर्जेटिक और फोकस्ड रहते थे। फिल्म की शूटिंग के दौरान भी उनकी गंभीरता मुझे साफ देखने को मिली।
टाइगर उवाच
अगर आप अपनी जिंदगी में रिस्क नहीं लेते हैं तो फिर जीने का क्या मजा है? अगर आप सही रिस्क लेते हैं और उसमें सक्सेसफुल होते हैं तो फिर जिंदगी और मजेदार हो जाती है। एक एक्टर के तौर पर मैं अपने रोल के साथ रिस्क लेना पसंद करता रहूंगा, क्योंकि मेरा मानना है कि इसी वजह से मैं ग्रोथ भी कर पाऊंगा।

The first ‘Avengers 4’ trailer supposedly leaked online

It’s going to be November soon, which means we’re getting closer to the moment Avengers fans have been waiting for, the release of the first Avengers 4 trailer. Hopefully, Marvel will also announce the title of the film, although I wouldn’t be surprised if they left it a mystery. Recent reports claimed that Avengers: Annihilation will be the title of the fourth film, a leak that supposedly ruffled some feathers at Marvel, but I digress. Regardless of what Avengers 4 is called, we have what seems to be the first believable trailer leak for you.

Before you get too excited, you should know this isn’t the video version of the first Avengers 4 trailer leak. Instead, someone who claims to have had access to a rough cut posted the script from the trailer on Reddit. We’ve seen similar trailer “leaks” on Reddit, but this time it’s different. Not only does this person have a proven track record reporting details about Marvel films on Reddit, but the trailer script itself doesn’t seem to be fan fiction.

Reddit user vfxgurudontmind started his leak by saying this:

Sup, you guys don’t know me. However few years ago I was the one who posted here on a throw away saying Spider-Man appears in the Civil War Trailer #2 (I told people to remember the word “underoos.”)

And ended it by saying that he also mentioned Red Skull being in Infinity War:

Just like Civil War, I’ll come back to this post once it drops for you guys’ thoughts. Then bye bye to this account. Also, I mentioned Red Skull being in Infinity War, but at the time I didn’t know if it was 100% sure. I just knew some guys working on it that talked about it.

As for the trailer leak, he said that the first trailer will be about two minutes long and that there are plenty of black screens in it, all of them lasting one or two seconds. The anonymous Redditor also noted that the trailer should debut on November 21st, 28th, or December 12th on Good Morning America, with a new Captain Marvel extended trailer set to drop around Christmas.

That said, here’s the actual trailer script leak, without any edits, as shared on Reddit (complete with the original poster’s comments in bold):

Final Trailer is about 2ish minutes. But it starts with the 10th year logo, which zooms into the screen in logo fashion but it flashes all colors of the stones as it does

Thanos’ voice: “My Destiny is not yet fulfilled…” A shot of a battered Tony, looks as though he’s still on Titan, confused. “Greater threats arise to undo the balance I lost everything to achieve… and I…. will not… be undone” Shot of Banner and Cap with Vision on a table fades in and out… Shot of Quill’s ship lifting off. Fades. Tony: “Fury was right.” He’s talking to someone out of view in some type of normal house. This MIGHT be Aunt May, he’s glossy eyed, and the dialogue is spoken over the prior screen, not actually what’s he’s saying. “He was right since day 1…” black screen

Tony: scene of him in some sort of garage looking place. In front of 3 different suits, they seem pretty normal? None are the one that was leaked, he has the housing unit in his hands. “I’ll do whatever it takes so that never happens again…” black screen

Shot of Ant Man standing in the Quantum Realm. Cuts to him surrounded by 3 tardigrades. He’s running, then stops at a green portal type thing. Fades to a shot of Scott in street clothes. Gray shirt jeans and a jean jacket. Scott: “ I think… I might have a way to help.” Not sure who he’s speaking to. Or if this is even the real dialogue lol. Doesn’t look like it matches.

Cap: “We need to make this right…”

Banner: “Cap we don’t even know where to start… Thanos is gone. He won.” Thor: “Well… then we had better get to work”

Shot panning down slowly of the pager Fury had in someone’s hands. I’m almost 100% certain it’s in Tony’s hands.

A shot of Rhodey suiting up very briefly, from the knees up to the crotch area lol, it’s not nanotech, but looks more or less exactly how Star-Lord’s mask materializes with a Thor voiceover: “Are you ready for this?”

Rocket: “Well… if I’m not…” pause. Black Fades in to Rocket, music silences: “What more could I lose?” Bifrost shot w/ Thor, War Machine, and Rocket. Various shots. Gauntlet, still damaged, being reached for, shot of Nebula (looks like the same place Tony was earlier), and then shot of Banner. Black screen.

Thor: “We need an army to stand against Thanos…” shot of Thanos putting on armor. “Yours is the only one formidable enough to give us a chance…” shot of Thanos wielding a big double edge sword. “So I ask of you…” Various shots of Black Widow, brief shot of Tony’s suit, Caps new chest piece (chainmail!!!) and Banner putting on a purple skintight suit and a button up over it In front of a mirror.

Fades to Thor, “Will you help us?” More various shots, including a broken gauntlet on the ground as someone (clearly Thanos) is walking away… same aesthetic and scenery as the one when it’s being reached for. (I think he throws it on the ground??) “It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Earth…”

Music is getting louder as it crescendos to a shot of Captain Marvel’s chest panning up to her face. The scenery behind her almost looks like Xandar. Because it can’t be Earth (that would make no sense) but it’s blue skies and clouds outside a window… Captain Marvel: “Let’s go” Shot of her flying towards something angrily, she cocks back a punch, eyes glowing, flames surround her. She punches, then [Title Card] as Avengers theme plays.

However it doesn’t actually have anything, it’s just a blank screen with the music.. Post theme cutaway stinger, Rocket is in a rolling chair looking at a few computer screens, has on this cool ass white bodysuit.

Rhodey: “I’ve seen a lot of crazy things, but a talking Raccoon? (rocket looks up at him from chair) Definitely tops them all…” Rocket, going from Rhodey back to the computer screens sarcastically: “boy if I had a unit* every time I heard that one” cuts to a shot of Thor smiling with an off queue “Ha Ha Ha.” Trailer ends…

As I said, this trailer leak reads so much better than the others you may have seen on Reddit, and that’s purely because it doesn’t give away any details about what it’s going to happen next. It’s the kind of trailer that would fit, showing glimpses of the surviving heroes trying to deal with what just happened while simultaneously plotting to undo all the damage done by Thanos’ snap.

I’m not sure there’s a word in the English dictionary that can accurately convey just how boneheaded the characters in Vipul Shah’s Namaste England are. This is a movie about stupid people who do stupid things while stupidly trying to convince themselves and others that they’re doing it for love.

If every idiot character that ever appeared on screen had to take an IQ test, Param and Jasmeet, the protagonists of this film, would rank lower than Harry and Lloyd, the imbeciles from Dumb and Dumber.

Arjun Kapoor is Param, a boy from the Pind, who falls for Jasmeet (Parineeti Chopra) the moment he spots her during Dussehra celebrations. We watch his interest in her, and their subsequent romance, develop strictly over various festivals, which made me want to ask if they have any contact in the months between Diwali and Holi for example. But let’s not digress.

The pair is promptly married after progressive Param promises to support Jasmeet in pursuing a career after they’re wed. In fact he’s such a nice guy he agrees to move to England so she can follow her dream. But an entirely unconvincing series of plot twists leads to Jasmeet heading westwards, leaving Param heartbroken and unable to follow after her.

It’s brave that Parineeti Chopra agreed to play a character so singularly manipulative and unlikeable. She hurts the man she loves repeatedly, she uses him to escape her own strict family, and like Param tells her at one point, she’s so selfish she’s happy to be in a relationship with a city than with a person. Add that to the fact that Jasmeet is also fantastically foolish, and you’ve got a heroine with practically no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Param, meanwhile, is just a doormat with very little self-respect, and not particularly smarter than his wife. Arjun and Parineeti are hardly at the top of their game here, and it’s easy to blame the actors for this film’s shortcomings, but the truth is that Namaste England wouldn’t be a lot better if Aamir Khan or Meryl Streep were in it.

Which brings me to wonder how a film like this was made in the first place. Why no one – from the actors, to the studios bankrolling the project, or frankly anyone who’d looked at its ridiculous script – asked why good money was being pumped into such drivel? That will be one of Bollywood’s big mysteries.

In 2007, Vipul Shah made Namaste London with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, and it was a pleasant enough entertainer with catchy songs and good chemistry between its leads. In Namaste England, Shah and his writers attempt to recycle some of what worked the last time around, including a rousing patriotic monologue by the hero addressed to a snotty India-basher. Alas, this scene has none of the impact of the original. It feels tired, recycled, and rote.

It’s hard to apply a traditional rating yardstick to a film that’s bereft of logic, or possesses even a modicum of common sense or plausibility. I’m going to skip rating Namaste England. Yes, this is that kind of awful film.
