How To Apply For PAN Card? New PAN Card Application Form

Before going to the steps, just learn about the exact amount you need to pay off getting PAN Card. Just remember that the amount is totally different for Indian and Foreign Citizens. But Rs. 5 (Indian national rupee) is common in both the cases as an online transaction charge. To Apply for a new PAN Card, any Indian Citizen will have to make the online payment of Indian National Rupee 116 (+ Rs. 5 as an online payment or transaction charge). And, if a foreign citizen is looking for making a new PAN Card in India, he/ she will have to pay a total of rupees 1020 (+ Rs. 5 as an online transaction payment charge). Using below mentioned easiest possible steps, you can Apply Online for PAN Card online –

STEP 1: See, 8 August 1996 founded Indian central securities depository based in Mumbai – National Securities Depository Limited or NSDL. And, 1993 founded IT Service Managment Company – UTI Infrastructure Technology And Services Limited or UTIITSL, both are given the official and authentic contract to apply for PAN Card online. Thus, you can visit an official website of any of the two. Here, www.nsdl.co.in is the official website of National Securities Depository Limited. And, www.utiitsl.com is the official website of UTI Infrastructure Technology And Services Limited.

STEP 2: Once click on the above link on the official website, you will be redirected to a URL – https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html. On this page, starting with the top, from the side of Tax Information Network of Income Tax Department, there are two options initially, Apply Online and Registered User. Here, you will have to go for Apply Online. Just the Application Type from the drop-down menu out of – New PAN – Indian Citizen (Form 49A), New PAN – Foreign Citizen (Form 49AA), Changes or Correction in Existing PAN Data/ Reprint of PAN Card (No changes in existing PAN Data). Forget the third one if you’re applying for the first time. And, select out of first and second option accordingly.

STEP 3: Now switch over to Category and select any one out of the following from the drop-down menu – Individual, Association of Persons, Body of Individuals, Company, Trust, Limited Liability Partnership, Firm, Government, Hindi Undivided Family, Artificial Juridical Person, Local Authority. Now switch over to Applicant information which holds conditions like 1. Initials are not permitted in the first and last name. 2. Applicant’s identity proof, proof of address and proof of date of birth should contain the exact name as mentioned in this field. Now, select the Title, Enter the last name/ surname, first name, middle name, date of birth/ incorporation/ formation, email ID and Mobile Number. Next enter the right Captcha Code and press Submit button.

STEP 4: Now comes the most crucial step i.e. Submission of documents, the appropriate list of which you just read above. Now, this can be done through three major methods. Either you physically deposit all the documents to NSDL office. The second option is to scan and upload the documents online on NSDL website. And, third and easiest is to just provide your Aadhar Number and remaining documents will be automatically verified by NSDL through Aadhar ID.

STEP 5: If you choose to go with Aadhar Card only, you will just have to go through OTP (One Time Password) and Direct Payment option. The procedure of going through the AO Code or Assessing Officer Code is extremely simple but seems extremely complicated because of terminology only. It is as simple as merely selecting correct choice out of four i.e. Government Category, Defence Employees, Foreign Citizens and NRI and Indian Citizens etc. Further, there are remaining personal details needs to be entered while choosing the AO Code i.e. you need to select your state and area of residence.

STEP 6: Here at this point, AO code becomes a little bit complicated, when keeping different categories in mind like companies, non-salaried people, government servants, private sector employees, etc., you will have to select your AO Code. But, the good part is, your CA or Chartered Accountant can help you out with this. List of all the AO codes will automatically appear on your screen just a few seconds after you have successfully and correctly opted out for the State and Area or Residence. Once you click on the correct AO code, it will get automatically filled up in the form.

STEP 7: Now you will just have to select the documents you have submitted as a Proof of Identity, Proof of Address or Proof of Age or Date of Birth. The next step is to make the successful online Payment. Nearly 120 rupees will have to be paid by the Indian Citizens online. After successfully making the online Payment, you will be sent an Email containing each and every detail of the procedure. You can track your PAN card as well through that mail only, thus keep the details saved with you for future references.

How To Change Address In PAN Card?

Irrespective of what the reason it is, if you’re willing to change the address in your PAN card, just follow the below mentioned steps.

STEP 1: First of all, visit the official website of NSDL or National Securities Depository Limited i.e. www.nsdl.co.in.

STEP 2: Find this written on the page – “Select the category of the applicant,” keep scrolling down until you get this.

STEP 3: Before clicking on the select button, choose your category from the drop-down menu out of (individual/partnership firm/association of persons/body of an individual, etc.). For most people, it would be individual.

STEP 4: After entering all the personal details, checking the box inside for which you make the corrections, enter the PAN number at the right place and following the remaining easy steps given there.

Importance of Linking PAN Card with Aadhaar Card
Both the PAN card as well as the Aadhaar card are unique identification cards that serve as proof of identity that are necessary for registration and verification purposes.

The government has urged all entities to link their PAN cards with their Aadhaar cards. This is being done for the following purposes:

Prevent Tax Evasion:

By linking the Aadhaar and PAN cards, the government will be able to keep tabs on the taxable transactions of a particular individual or entity, whose identity and address will be verified by his Aadhaar card. This will effectively mean that every taxable transaction or activity will be recorded by the government.

As a result, the government will already have a detailed record of all the financial transactions that would attract tax for each entity, making tax evasion a thing of the past.

Multiple PAN Cards:

Another reason for linking PAN with Aadhaar is to reduce the occurrence of individuals or entities applying for multiple PAN cards in an effort to defraud the government and avoid paying taxes.

By applying for more than one PAN card, an entity can use one of the cards for a certain set of financial transactions and pay taxes applicable for those. Meanwhile, the other PAN card can be used for accounts or transactions that the entity wishes to conceal from the Income Tax department, thereby avoiding paying tax on them.

By linking the PAN and Aadhaar card, the government will be able to link the identity of an entity through his/her Aadhaar card, and subsequently have details of all financial transactions made through the linked PAN card. If there are multiple PAN cards registered under the same name, the government will be able to identify the same and take corrective action.

Ease in Filing of Income Tax Returns:

Entities who have linked their PAN and Aadhaar cards will be able to file their e-Returns, or their online Income Tax returns seamlessly and quickly. By linking the two, entities will no longer have to submit their Income Tax acknowledgement to the IT department, thus saving tax payers a lot of trouble.

Hi Friends i Think this is tha beast way linking the PAN and Aadhaar card If You Know Moor Added blow in comments

Almost 50% of India’s current telecom users are staring at an impossible reality: Their SIM connections can be disconnected if they have obtained their connection via Aadhaar-KYC mode.

This sounds ridiculous, but this can become the reality.

Aadhaar-Only KYC Mode = Mobile Disconnection
Remember the days when telecom companies were luring, forcing, coercing you to link Aadhaar with your mobile, and get a new SIM by only using Aadhaar?

And you trusted them, and gave your Aadhaar number for getting a new SIM, and doing a new KYC for your existing mobile?

Well, it seems that it was a mistake.

Now, as per fresh reports coming in, all those SIMs which were activated with only Aadhaar as KYC can be disconnected.

The numbers can be as high as 50 crore mobile users, or almost 50% of current telecom users in India!
Aadhaar KYC SIMs can be disconnected
Aadhaar KYC SIMs can be disconnected

Why Aadhaar-KYC Mobiles Are At Risk?

There are two reasons.

First, the recent Supreme Court ruling, which ordered all private companies to destroy Aadhaar related data of customers. Now, UIDAI has asked to delink Aadhaar of users based on this ruling, and an ‘exit plan’ has been sought.

In case telecom firms do delink the Aadhaar, then there will be no KYC left.

And as per Telecom Ministry’s regulations, this means disconnection, unless other KYC is used.

And the second reason is that, in the month of March, telecom companies were ordered to destroy all pre-Aadhaar KYC documents, as they were undergoing digitalized, Aadhaar KYC.

Now, as those KYC documents are destroyed, and the current digitalized Aadhaar is delinked, there is no KYC left.

And this means disconnection.

What Is The Solution Here?

The only solution seems is a new KYC, which would be without Aadhaar.

And this massive exercise means more headache for the users, and telecom operators, as a new round of awareness, execution and follow-up is required.

This time without Aadhaar.

Telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan has met representatives of various telecom operators, and have discussed this complex issue.

She assured that whatever happens, the subscribers won’t be hassled.

She said, “We want to ensure that it is a smooth transition with little problems for subscribers.”

Non-Aadhaar KYC can be: passport, driving licence, voter’s card, electricity bill, gas bill, PAN card.

Your PAN Card Can Be Blocked If Not Linked With AadhaarAs the last date for filing Income Tax returns have been extended to August 5th, several interesting data, revelations and warnings have come out from the Govt., related to Aadhaar card linking with PAN Card.

But first, let us start with the facts.

1.2 Million PAN Cards Deactivated Due To Duplication
In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar informed that due to duplication issues, 11.44 lakh PAN Cards have been deactivated.
He explicitly stated that every Indian citizen is entitled to have only one PAN Card. Around 1500+ cases of fake PAN Cards were also unearthed, which were issued to non-existing citizens.
He said, “One PAN for one person is the guiding principle for allotment of PAN..”

PAN Card May Be Blocked After August 31st If Not Linked With Aadhaar
When Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) issued a statement regarding extension of the last date of filing IT returns to August 31st, they said that PAN Cards which are not linked with Aadhaar before August 31st can be blocked.

While the last date for filing ITR has been extended till August 5th from August 1st; the last date for linking PAN Card with Aadhaar has been declared as August 31st.

The statement said that if Aadhaar card is not received, then mentioning acknowledgement number is enough.

The statement said, “For the purpose of e—filing return, it would be sufficient as of now to quote Aadhaar or acknowledgement number for having applied for Aadhaar in the e-filing website.”, adding, “The actual linking of PAN with Aadhaar can be done subsequently, but any time before August 31, 2017,”

The date for ITR filing has been extended due to issues related with website access.
The statement said, “While technical snags have been removed already, the main reason for failure of people to log in (the e-filing portal) is because of last minute rush and panic in which those who have already logged in want to continue for the entire period for fear of losing it.”
Thus, this is clear that even if you are not filing ITR, linking your PAN Card with Aadhaar is a necessity now.

Some earlier reports state that PAN Cards can be linked with Aadhaar till December 31st, after which they would be blocked.

Govt. of India: Aadhaar Cannot Be Used To Track Anyone
Meanwhile, in the ongoing case related to protection of privacy and Aadhaar execution, Govt. informed the Supreme Court that Aadhaar cannot be used to track any person.

Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Tushar Mehta, who was representing Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said that such are the inbuilt privacy protection features within Aadhaar system, that even UIDAI ‘wouldn’t know where the Aadhaar is being used.’

The case is sub-judice, and is being currently debated and heard by a nine-judge constitutional bench led by the Chief Justice of India JS Khehar.

Linked your Aadhaar with PAN, here are five steps to do it
There are only two more days left to link your Aadhaar number to your PAN card. If you don't do it before 30 June, in case you do not have Aadhaar and you do not wish to obtain Aadhaar for the time being, then your PAN will not be cancelled so that your consequences under the Income Tax Act for failing to quote PAN may not arise.
Amending income tax rules and notifying the same, the government has made quoting of the 12-digit biometric Aadhaar or the enrolment ID a must at the time of application of permanent account number (PAN).
Finance minister Arun Jaitley through an amendment to tax proposals in the Finance Bill for 2017-18 had made Aadhaar mandatory for filing income tax returns and provided for linking of PAN with Aadhaar to check tax evasion through use of multiple PAN cards.
The revenue department said "every person who has been allotted PAN as on July 1, 2017, and who in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (2) of section 139AA is required to intimate his Aadhaar number, shall intimate his Aadhaar number to the principal director general of income tax (systems) or DGIT (systems)".
Here are five steps you can do it.
Step 1: Keep Aadhaar and PAN numbers handy.
Step 2 : Register on the Income tax e-Filing portal if you already haven’t yet. If you are already registered at the income tax department’s e-Filing portal, log in using your ID, password and date of birth.
Step 3: A pop up window will appear, prompting you to link your PAN card with Aadhaar card. If you have a pop up blocker active, you will have to go on the “Profile Setting” on the dashboard’s menu bar to click on “Link Aadhar” option.
Step 4: You will have to add the necessary details like name your Date of Birth as per the PAN details as well as your gender. If you data is different that what’s mentioned on your PAN, the Aadhaar will not be linked to your PAN.  Next thing to do is, to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar card number, then verify captcha and then click on “Link Aadhaar” button. Once your validation is successful, your Aadhaar will be successfully linked to your PAN.
Step 5: The last step is when a popup message is displayed stating that your Aadhaar card has been successfully linked to your PAN card.
Keep in mind, that once the Aadhaar-PAN linking is done, you can e-Verify your IT returns using Aadhaar. That’s when your mobile is registered with Aadhaar. By linking the two cards you will no longer have to submit your Income Tax acknowledgement to the IT department.
