The first variant is the Mi 9 Transparent Edition, the standard Mi 9 and the smaller Mi 9 SE. While the Mi 9 bears a price tag of 2999 CNY, the Mi 9 transparent edition will set back by the buyers by 3999 CNY. The Mi 9 SE will be a more affordable offering at 1999 CNY. Fun2Ind.com

Xiaomi Mi 9: Specifications and Features

The newly launched Xiaomi Mi 9 features a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display which has been manufactured by Samsung. Like you would expect, the Mi 9 debuts with a notch over a 19:9 aspect ratio screen which makes the Mi 9 boast of a 90.7% screen-to-body ratio. The back panel of the new Mi 9 has an attractive holographic design finish which reflects different colours depending on the angle of light falling on it. Xiaomi claims that it has used nano-level laser engraving and dual-layer nano-coating to accomplish this. For protection, the Mi 9 puts the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 to use on both the front and back side.

When it comes to performance, the Mi 9 packs ample power as it sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC which clocks a frequency of 2.4GHz. It is worth noting that this SoC by Qualcomm has been manufactured on the 7nm process and it is a 5G-ready chipset. The Mi 9 debuts in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants which pairs with 128GB of internal storage. mobask.com

When it is about camera and imaging, the Mi 9 packs a triple rear camera setup which is vertically stacked and consists of a 48MP primary sensor (Sony IMX586), a 16MP ultra wide-angle secondary sensor, and a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. On the front, the phone flaunts a 20MP shooter for selfies. Further, Xiaomi has gone an extra step ahead to put the sapphire glass lens on the camera to protect it from scratches. The camera on this phone also comes enabled with 960fps slow motion and includes motion tracking capabilities. The phone also features improved image stabilisation and a Super Night Scene mode which would be helpful in low light photography.

Possibly, the only thing disappointing that you might find about the new Mi 9 is the measly 3,300mAh battery. On the software front, the phone boots Android 9 Pie based MIUI 10. For security purposes, the phone comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Some additional features of the Mi 9 include the IR blaster and the support for a dark mode.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition: Specifications and Features

Xiaomi’s Mi 9 Transparent Edition is the result of collaboration with the movie franchise from Disney, Alita: Battle Angel. The difference between the standard variant of the Mi 9 and the transparent edition is that the latter comes with an improved camera 48MP primary rear camera sensor, along with a 7P lens and f/1.47 aperture. The highlight, of course, as you would expect is that the phone features transparent back thus giving a glance of the phone’s internals and notching up the aesthetics. Under the hood, the Mi 9 Transparent edition rocks 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Xiaomi Mi 9 SE: Specifications and Features

The Mi 9 SE is the most affordable among the three. The phone sports a 5.97-inch OLED display which comes with a notch on top. This device also uses an in-display fingerprint sensor for authentication. The Mi 9 SE packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM, 64GB and 128GB of internal storage and a power unit of 3070mAh. In terms of camera and imaging, the phone sports a triple rear camera setup which consists of 48MP+8MP+13MP sensors on the rear and a 20MP selfie shooter on the front.

Xiaomi Mi 9 Series: Pricing and Availability

The Xiaomi Mi 9 will be available for the buyers in three different colours of Lavender Violet, Ocean Blue, and Piano Black, and it will bear a price tag of 2999 CNY and 3299 CNY for 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB variants respectively. The Mi 9 Transparent Edition will be a little higher priced, and it will debut in 12GB+256GB variant option with a price tag of 3999 CNY. The most affordable of all, the Mi 9 SE will come in 6GB+64GB, and 6GB+128GB variants and the shelf price of the phone will be 1999 CNY and 2299 CNY respectively. Alongside these phones, Xiaomi has also announced the launch of a wireless power bank which would pack 10,000 mAh and would retail for 149 CNY.

The pre-sale for the Mi 9 is slated to begin at 6 PM in China today, and interested buyers will have to pay 100 CNY to pre-book the device.

Samsung has refreshed its smartphone line-up starting with the M-series, and now the company is gearing up to come up with A-series (2019) devices. We have already learned that Samsung is working on three devices – the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50. Some of these smartphones have already been spotted in leaks, benchmarks and renders too. Now, a fresh leak spills the beans over the expected specifications and features too. msnTarGet.com

Samsung Galaxy A10 leaked specifications and features

According to a leak on MySmartPrice, the Galaxy A10 will be an entry-level model in the A-series, and will come with a plastic body. It will feature a 6.2-inch Infinity V display and have HD+ resolution. Under the hood, an Exynos 7884B SoC clocked at 1.6GHz is expected, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. Fun2Ind.com

Talking about cameras, a single 13-megapixel snapper at the back, and a 5-megapixel snapper on the front is likely to be in tow. The smartphone will lack a fingerprint scanner, but will come with face unlock feature. There will be two SIM card slots, and a dedicated micro SD card slot for further expansion. To keep things ticking, the smartphone will pack a 4,000mAh battery, but come with 5W charging over microUSB. soas.in

Samsung Galaxy A30 leaked specifications and features

Coming to Galaxy A30, the smartphone will come with 3D glossy back made from plastic material. There will be a 6.4-inch Infinity U super AMOLED display running at full HD+. It will be powered by an Exynos 7904 SoC paired with 3GB / 4GB RAM and 32GB / 64GB storage. In the photography department, a dual camera setup comprising of a 16-megapixel main sensor and a 5-megapixel sensor with ultra-wide lens is expected. For selfies and video calling, a 16-megapixel front camera is likely to be in tow. mobask.com

To keep things ticking, a 4,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging over Type C will be in place. The smartphone is also likely to come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The leak also hints at Samsung Pay Mini, Bixby, Dolby Atmos and AR sticker support.

Samsung Galaxy A50 leaked specifications and features

Lastly, the flagship model in the series will reportedly pack an in-display fingerprint scanner. It will share the same design and display as the Galaxy A30. Under the hood, a it will be powered by an Exynos 9610 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, or 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. msnTarGet.com

In the photography department, a triple camera setup of 25-megapixel primary sensor, a secondary 5-megapixel depth sensor and a third 8-megapixel sensor with ultra-wide lens will be in tow. Up front, there will be a 25-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling. Just like the other two A-series smartphones, the Galaxy A50 will also come with a 4,000mAh battery featuring 15W fast charging over Type C.

There is, however, one thing that the leak doesn’t clarify – the Android OS version that these phones will run on. Currently, the flagship smartphones are being updated to Android Pie OS, but the older devices are still stuck on Android Oreo. Even the recently launched Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 don’t come with Android Pie OS, which is something disappointing.

OnePlus has some plans for the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2019. No, the company isn’t launching the OnePlus 7 or the OnePlus 7T. OnePlus is gearing up to showcase its first ever 5G phone at the MWC 2019 event. OnePlus has now invited the media to experience the company’s prototype 5G smartphone at Qualcomm’s booth at the event. The OnePlus 5G prototype phone will be running on a fully functional network. OnePlus hasn’t officially talked about the showcasing of the 5G phone, but the words noted in the media invite reveals hints at it. The invite notes “5G gaming” which clearly hints at the OnePlus 5G phone. OnePlus 5G Phone Coming Later This Year

The words noted in the media invite hints that the OnePlus 5G phone may be targeted to the gamers out there or mostly the power users. To recollect, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau announced the coming of a 5G phone at Qualcomm Snapdragon summit where the chip maker launched the Snapdragon 855 SoC which is going to power most flagships this year including the most anticipated Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+. Even the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7T are said to be powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset but will be based on X24 modem. The OnePlus 5G phone will be based on Snapdragon X50 5G modem. Fun2Ind.com

OnePlus to Launch Three Phones in 2019

In 2019, OnePlus is expected to launch three phones, the OnePlus 7, the OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 5G Phone. The company has previously confirmed that OnePlus will be among the first ones to launch a commercial 5G phone. Reports suggest that OnePlus may launch the OnePlus 5G in the first half of this year. As of now, there’s no report whether or not the OnePlus 5G phone – the company is yet to come up with a name for it – will come to India. For now, what we know is the OnePlus 5G phone will be launched in Europe in collaboration with telecom operator EE. SoAs.in

Meanwhile, along with OnePlus, several other smartphone makers like Huawei, Samsung, Vivo, LG, and ZTE are also working on a 5G smartphone to launch at the Mobile World Congress 2019. Xiaomi has a booth at the MWC 2019 where it’s expected to showcase a 5G model of the Mi Mix 3, while Vivo might display the 5G variant of its Nex Dual.

We received an anonymous tip via email from an alleged inside source in Samsung's retail channel. The tip consists of two sheets with the detailed specs of the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e. We cannot verify that these are the correct specs but they do fall in line with the numerous leaks we've covered in the previous weeks.

Exclusive: Here are the final, detailed specs of the Samsung Galaxy S10 trio

Exclusive: Here are the final, detailed specs of the Samsung Galaxy S10 trio
Exclusive: Here are the final, detailed specs of the Samsung Galaxy S10 trio
We reported on some of the details found in the sheets, like the new 10MP f/1.9 selfie camera that can capture 4K video. It will have dual-pixel AF but the sheets don't mention optical stabilization, which was reported as a new feature. We've also heard of the new super slow-mo capabilities of the Galaxy S10 trio - they'll be able to capture 0.4s-0.8s of video, twice as long as their predecessors. msnTarGet.com

Mostly the specs are a rehash of what's been rumored for awhile now but there are some interesting bits, like the promised 800 nits of screen brightness - so far we've not tested a Galaxy flagship with more than 700 nits in our office. Fun2Ind.com

Another deviation from what we've seen rumored is the screen size of the Galaxy S10+. The insider specs sheet claims a 6.3-inch diagonal of 3040x1440px resolution, whereas rumors say a 6.4-inch display. mobask.com

Then there are the cameras - the Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 have triple rear cameras (12 f/2.4 45-degree tele / 12MP f/1.5 77-degree regular / 16MP f/2.2 fixed-focus 123-degree ultra-wide) while the Galaxy S10e is listed as having a regular and an ultra-wide camera, while rumors suggested it will stick with the regular + tele configuration of the Galaxy S9+. soas.in

The claim that the Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e have the world's first selfie camera to capture 4K video is something the Nokia 8 might want to argue with.

There are the final tidbits such as the new 10 scene optimizer settings and the new Zoom and Color point effects in the camera.

The three Galaxy S10 flagships will be unveiled in less than 10 days and all of these leaks will be put to an end. Stay tuned until then as there will likely be more leaks in the meantime.

According to the report, OPPO R19 has a blue-purple gradient finish. However, it may be launched in other colours too.  There is no confirmation yet on when the smartphone will be launched. OPPO may unveil it in China before the OPPO F11 Pro launches in India.

Samsung had been playing a rather lackluster game in the budget smartphone segment in India which comprises of the smartphone market priced between 7k and 13k. And by this I mean it didn’t have smartphones in this segment that could compare to its competition in terms of the specs that were being offered. But it seems like Samsung has learnt from the past and is now ready to make amends in the segment. And this is rather clear in its introduction of the new Galaxy M series smartphones with much better specs than its predecessors. We have already reviewed the Galaxy M10 in detail and found it to be an impressive offering in its segment. Now, here’s my review of the Samsung Galaxy M20 which is the higher variant between the two M Series smartphones launched so far. msnTarGet.com

Samsung Galaxy M20 Review: Hits the sweet spot with its battery

Samsung Galaxy M20 Review: Hits the sweet spot with its battery
Samsung Galaxy M20 Review: Hits the sweet spot with its battery

Design of the Samsung Galaxy M20

Right off the bat, the first aspect that anyone notices about a device is how it looks, and the Samsung Galaxy M20 shares its physical traits with affordable sibling Galaxy M10 and some of the other smartphones in this segment. It comes with a waterdrop notch like Honor 10 Lite, which has been termed as ‘Infinity-V’ and is a first for Samsung. As a matter of fact, this is the first time that the South Korean company has incorporated the notch design into its smartphones. It seems like an attempt from Samsung to incorporate itself into the segment by picking up design cues from other smartphones and pick up designs that are trending. Fun2Ind.com

Unlike other smartphones that are there in this category which include the Redmi Note 6 Pro, Honor 10 Lite which have metal or glass back panels, Samsung went for a polycarbonate back panel which has rounded corners to meld into the display. The back panel has the dual-camera setup in a vertical arrangement on the top left corner with the flash below it and the fingerprint sensor on down the middle. The device has two microphone openings, one on the top panel and another on the bottom beside the single speaker grille, 3.5mm port and a USB-C port. The volume rocker and the power button are on the right hand panel while the left panel houses the hybrid-SIM slot which has separate slots for two SIM cards and a MicroSD card of up to 256GB. MobAsk.com

Moving on to the display of the Galaxy M20, it features a 6.3-inch FHD+ (2340 x 1080p) PLS TFT display which is Samsung’s own technology similar to TFT. The color reproduction of the display is bright and typical of Samsung’s saturated displays, which is impressive by all means. One of the more appreciable aspects of the display is that it is quite bright and you would not have any any problem with its outdoor visibility.

There were two things that surprised me, which was how light the smartphone is considering that it is packing a 5,000mAh battery and is not much heavier than the 3,300mAh packing Galaxy Note 8 which I use as my daily driver. The other thing that surprised me in terms of the design of the smartphone is how well Samsung has incorporated a proximity sensor as well as ambient sensor on the upper thin bezel, and it surprisingly works well too. Soas.in

The volume rocker and the power key seems much better than the previous Samsung phones in this segment and are much more solid now without anything feeling loose. This has been typical in the mid ranged and the costlier Samsung smartphone, and the inclusion in the budget segment is an improvement of sorts for the company. The inclusion of Type-C for charging and interface with other devices is also an improvement and the fact that this comes with fast-charging capabilities also earns a thumbs up.

Booting up to the software of the Galaxy M20, I observed that Samsung has stuck to its Experience UI despite having introduced the new OneUI which has been professed as a big improvement over the previous one. Galaxy M20 does not yet have Android 9 Pie and is still stuck at Android 8.1 Oreo after the January 2019 security patch. The UI itself is no different from what we have seen in the previous Samsung devices, and we hope Samsung brings OneUI to this segment of devices as well.

Performance of the Samsung Galaxy M20

There are a few firsts for Samsung with the new Galaxy M smartphones and the inclusion of a whole new Samsung Exynos chipset in the Galaxy M20 is on of them. The Exynos 7904 processor that has been used in the Galaxy M20 is a new processor that has recently been launched by the Samsung. It is an octa-core processor which has two ARM Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 1.8GHz for high power tasks and six ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.6GHz for the regular tasks. The processor uses Mali-G71 GPU which is efficient enough to run games like PUBG Mobile without a hitch on high graphics. Soas.in

The Samsung Galaxy M20 variant which I reviewed had 4GB RAM which was capable of handling heavy apps and switching between them frequently seemed snappy and went about without a hitch. Even using apps in the split screen view didn’t seem to deter performance of the device. One of the concerns that I had was whether the background apps are killed after a while, and it seems that it usually takes a long while before the app is killed and only an iteration is there in the background apps. I noticed that the smartphone produced negligible heat when playing games like Asphalt and PUBG Mobile even at longer stretches which is definitely one of the bigger positives considering how important smartphone gaming has become. Fun2Ind.com

Moving on to the battery performance of the Samsung Galaxy M20, it has been impressive to say the least. I will mention outright that generally I am not too heavy a smartphone user and in my regular medium use of the smartphone, it easily lasted 1.5 days with a single full charge. This includes a couple of PUBG matches a day, a couple of product shots, 30-40 minutes of streaming high quality video, browsing social media for the rest of the day. But to test out the extended battery capability of the device, I extended the usage and the gaming hours to match heavy usage and the battery still lasted about a day on a single charge.

Now coming to the Galaxy M20’s camera capabilities, I have to admit that I had expected much better results considering that Samsung excels in optics. It is one of the primary talking points of its higher end smartphones, the company never ceases to surprise me with its below-par optics in the budget segment. The daylight shots seem perfectly fine which is expected, but the quality deteriorates as the light intensity decreases and so does capturing correct colors. The rear-camera combo of 13 megapixel primary sensor with a lens of f/1.9 aperture and a secondary 5-megapixel sensor and 120 degree field of view lens. The front camera is not too better off and the software has a tendency to overexpose the background in bright light to adjust the skin tone, while in low light it has difficulty in maintaining accuracy. msnTarGet.com

The software integration of the Face Unlock is pretty accurate (slightly slow), but definitely better than the Galaxy M10. The fingerprint sensor is pretty snappy and seems at par with even costlier devices.

Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy M20 is a definite improvement over the previous Galaxy On series and Galaxy J series smartphones that we have seen. It shows that Samsung is willing to move towards making better phones for the budget segment, even though it has not reached there yet. The Galaxy M20 has impressive battery backup and the great display with performance which is quite up to the mark. But one of Samsung’s old faults of not incorporating better camera modules persists, considering the competing brands excel in the camera department especially.

In terms of the pricing, the variant I reviewed with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is priced at Rs 12,990 which seems like fair pricing for the device even when comparing its positives and negatives to smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro and Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2.

In case, you’ve deleted any application by mistake, you can easily install it back from the same app store from where you uninstalled that particular android application.

In case a situation arrives when you’re willing to root the Jio Phone. Then, first, you will need to learn if the Jio Phone is rootable or not? Needless to say, any operating system can be rooted easily. Just methods are different.

Unofficially, according to experts, the definition of rooting can be said as “Rooting means you have root access to your device—that is, it can run the sudo command, and has enhanced privileges allowing it to run apps like Wireless Tether or SetCPU.”

OnePlus is set to refresh its smartphone series in the first half of 2019. The company has already confirmed plans to launch 5G phone this year. The next flagship phone, dubbed as OnePlus 7, is expected to come with a range of new features including a new screen design and camera module.

You can also expect OnePlus 7 to come with the faster Snapdragon 855 processor. Note that this chipset is going to power the majority of flagship and premium phones this year. Expected list of Snapdragon 855 processor-based phones include Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10. msnTarGet.com

Here’s what to expect from the OnePlus 6T successor.

OnePlus 7: Top 5 features expected from the next OnePlus flagship phone

New screen, camera design

OnePlus embraced notch screens with OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T phones. The notch, however, changed from the boat-like notch to the popular and much smaller waterdrop notch. OnePlus 7 is rumoured to completely ditch the notch and use a slider front-camera design. According to a recent leaked image, OnePlus 7 is going to feature pop-up selfie camera just like Vivo Nex or Honor Magic 2-style sliding top panel. The pop-up camera module also means OnePlus 7 will bring highest screen-to-body ratio ever on an OnePlus phone. soas.in

HDR Streaming

OnePlus users have long demanded Netflix’s HDR support on their flagship phones. The upcoming flagship phone will finally bring the feature. OnePlus co-founder in a recent company forum post sought feedback from users about adding HDR support on the company’s phones via app stub on Google Play Store. Fun2Ind.com

Pointing out the benefits of HDR support, Carl wrote, “Pros 1: Offer HDR streaming, which can offer our users a higher quality streaming experience. Pros 2: Unleash the full potential of our future smartphone hardware.”

Another company executive added in the same thread, “Hi everyone, we take this question seriously, so in order to have clear data pointing to how our community stands on it, we replaced a new form emphasizing the “could NOT be uninstalled” message. The previous form has been closed and saved for reference.”

“Plus, HDR streaming requires support both from hardware side and content providers side. Here we are talking about whether our future smartphone should support HDR streaming in this popular app,” he wrote. MobAsk.com

Warp Charge 30

OnePlus introduced ultra fast charging technology, Warp Charge 30, with OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition. OnePlus claims the tech delivers much faster charging than Samsung Galaxy Note 9 on parameters of screen off charging and charging while gaming. The Warp Charge 30 could become a standard feature on 2019 OnePlus smartphones.

Camera sensors

As pointed out by Forbes, OnePlus has traditionally used Sony’s camera sensors on its flagship phones. With OnePlus 7, the company may use Sony’s IMX586 sensor which will pave way for up to 48-megapixel resolution. It’s worth pointing out that Huawei has already launched 48-megapixel camera phone, Honor View 20, with the same sensor. Xiaomi is also expected to use the sensor for an upgraded Redmi Note 7 Pro.

Apart from an advanced camera sensor, OnePlus may borrow Oppo’s 10X optical zoom camera for its new flagship phone. Oppo is expected to unveil the tech with a reference phone at the Mobile World Congress 2019.

5G

OnePlus has already confirmed its 2019 phone will support 5G network. OnePlus 7 with 5G is set to launch in Europe this year. The 5G variant, however, will be more expensive than the normal one.

Talking of smartphone designs, OnePlus has never shied away from adopting trends.

From slim bezels on OnePlus 5T to a wide display cutout on OnePlus 6 to a smaller, waterdrop notch on OnePlus 6T, the company has done it all.

And now, if recent leaks are to be believed, OnePlus is taking things a notch up with its upcoming OnePlus 7.

So, how will it be different from OnePlus 6T?

OnePlus 7 v/s OnePlus 6T: What will be the differences?

OnePlus 7 v/s OnePlus 6T: What will be the differences?
OnePlus 7 v/s OnePlus 6T: What will be the differences?

Taking things a notch up, this time with a slider

As per a recent image leak, OnePlus will ditch the waterdrop notch we've come to like on the OnePlus 6T in favor of an all-screen design on the upcoming OnePlus 7.

And to achieve the new design, the company has adopted a slider camera mechanism - similar to Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, Lenovo Z5 Pro and Honor Magic 2. msnTarGet.com

Finally, no more notch-potch.

But the slider comes with some woes

While the slider mechanism allows for an increased screen-to-body ratio, it comes with some concerns (and I am not nit-picking).

Firstly, the slider mechanism (whether manual or motorized), may comprise the uncertified water-resistance that OnePlus offers on its unibody phones like the OnePlus 6T. soas.in

Secondly, the phone will become marginally thicker and possibly more prone to damages in case of odd falls.

Beyond the concerns: What else is changing on OnePlus 7?

The recent OnePlus 7 leak revealed a significantly larger earpiece and the casing showed two cutouts in the slider module.

Interestingly, the cutouts point toward a single selfie camera and possibly an IR sensor that'll fortify the lightning fast face unlock feature. Fun2Ind.com

Moreover, the larger earpiece suggests OnePlus might fit in a speaker to offer immersive audio - an upgrade over 6T's single speaker.

Under the hood changes: More power and faster charging

It's a given that OnePlus 7 will come with the latest 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset - an upgrade from Snapdragon 845 on OnePlus 6T.

The new processor will allow for faster data speeds and image processing as well. MobAsk.com

Further, we expect upto 10GB RAM and upto 256GB of internal storage, and 30W Speed Warp fast charging that debuted with OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition.

Time for triple rear cameras?

OnePlus 6T is a solid flagship killer with top-of-the-line internals, smooth software, great battery life but decent cameras because the phone makes do with the same sensors that we saw on its predecessors.

Now considering that the upcoming iPhone and Galaxy S10 flagships are adopting triple rear cameras, it is possible that OnePlus 7 will once again take on its rivals with matching hardware. MsnTarGet.com

Pricing: Expect a slight uptick over OnePlus 6T's price tag

OnePlus 6T has outshined other flagships not by the high-end specs but with its top performance that comes at a significantly lower cost.

But given the expected upgrades, OnePlus 7 might see an uptick of $50-100 over OnePlus 6T. And that will still be $300-400 less than the likes of Galaxy S10 and iPhone 11. Fun2Ind.com

However, we will know about it in Q2 2019.

If you have been waiting for Xiaomi’s own Android Go phone, then you are in luck as it seems a launch is happening very soon. The phone already got certified in a number of markets and now it appears it is ready to launch with The Philippines being the first market to get it. soas.in

The official Facebook account for Xiaomi Philippines shared a post a few hours ago teasing the launch of a new phone. The post also has the hashtag #GoSmartDoMore.

Philippino blog Revu.com.ph got a tip that the phone is already listed on online store Lazada and the listing includes a poster with the full specs of the Redmi Go. The poster also has the tag line Go Smart, Do More which means it is the same device teased by Xiaomi on Facebook. MobAsk.com

The Redmi Go can be said to be a redesigned Redmi 4A/Redmi 5A with a few changes and of course less RAM and storage. We are glad it doesn’t have the rear-facing speaker of both phones. Fun2Ind.com

It has a 5.0-inch 1280 x 720 display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 380 nits of brightness. There is a Snapdragon 425 processor under the hood and it is paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. A dedicated MicroSD card slot will allow you to add up to 128GB of extra storage. MobAsk.com

The Redmi Go has an 8MP f/2.0 camera with HDR and an LED flash on its back. The camera is positioned at the top left corner of the phone. It also has a 5MP f/2.2 front-facing camera.

There is Bluetooth 4.1, single band Wi-Fi, a MicroUSB port, and dual-SIM support. It also has support for 4G LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 20, and 28. Availability of these bands including dual VoLTE and dual 4G will vary between markets.

The Redmi Go packs a 3,000mAh battery and will come with a 5V/1A charger in the box. Unfortunately, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) and not the latest Android 9 Pie (Go Edition). It will be available in black and blue when it launches. Fun2Ind.com

There is no info on price yet. The one on Lazada is just a placeholder until the phone launches.
