Smartphones have evolved over the years in terms of imaging technology. Today there are smartphones which can challenge the likes of professional cameras, thanks to varying lenses, betters ISPs and technology.
From single to dual, smartphones are now racing towards mainstream three cameras.
The second lens became a proprietary feature in smartphones a couple of years back, and now it’s about a third lens. Companies and OEMs are jumping into the slowly growing trend of triple cameras.
Today, we are getting into it to find out whether smartphones actually need an extra third sensor.

Here are some of the best triple camera phones to check out if you're interested in taking peerless pictures with your smartphone. Triple cameras are markedly better at detecting depth of field (for 3D photographs), taking wide-angle shots, giving a better HDR experience, zooming more powerfully and shooting in low-light – so you have the advantage of DSLR-like images without the hassle of a clunky machine. Ahead, the best triple camera phones you can get to up your mobile photography game.

1. Best Triple camera phones that you can buy
These are the triple camera phones currently available in the market. Needless to say, this trend is going to continue fervently over the coming years and even the chipset companies are designing their new processors to include multiple camera modules. We will keep updating the list as relevant phones surface in the future.

2. Do Smartphones Need Three Cameras?
There are smartphones which offer excellent results even with a single sensor. While some do the job quite well with two cameras. So why we need a third or even a fourth sensor? Pixel smartphones still come with a single sensor and depend on post-processing for better photographs.

Are the additional sensor is more of a gimmick?

Not actually. More sensors offer a smartphone to utilize more possibilities.

Again, extra sensors don’t guarantee good pictures, if the post-processing technology is trash.

With an additional sensor, a smartphone can use pixel binning to improve low-light performance with high-resolution sensors.

Cameras can benefit from a switchable aperture. Aperture determines how much light will reach the sensor. More light helps to reduce noise and produce brighter pictures in the dark. While most of the second lens works as a telephoto sensor, helping to produce higher resolution pictures when cropped.
Some companies use the second lens as a monochrome sensor, ideal for pixel binning to improve photography performance in low light.

3. So, More Sensors Help Improve Photography?
Nope. If the post-processing and software are not worth it, additional sensors won’t help. Take the example of Google Pixel devices or iPhone XR. These are some great single-lens smartphones depending upon software for better pictures.

There is software which uses image combining techniques to produce high-quality pictures.

Finally, the purpose of an additional lens came into existence for lossless zooming, wide-angle shots and portraits with added bokeh. From 2X to 3X to 5X to 10X zooming technology now from Oppo, there are smartphones which justify the use of an additional lens.

Let’s check out some of the best three camera smartphones available in the market.

Vodafone Idea Warns Customers to Not Pick Calls from Suspicious International Mobile Numbers

Samsung Galaxy S10 spotted with dual rear camera system while S10+ hits the benchmark
Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ will be the next big smartphone to launch in the flagship segment. At the ongoing Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit, US wireless carrier AT&T confirmed that it will have two 5G enabled smartphones from Samsung early next year. The announcement did hint at the launch of Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ at Mobile World Congress in February 2019.

Samsung Galaxy S10+ was recently leaked in the form of renders which revealed its rumored quad camera setup. The leak also shows dual in-screen camera at the front of the device. Now, we have another leak pertaining to a Galaxy S10+ that only has a dual rear camera setup.

The leaks so far claim that there will be a 5.8-inch model, likely to be called the Galaxy S10, will come in two forms: a flat display design and a curved model. The Galaxy S10+ could arrive in 6.2-inch and 6.44-inch display sizes with the larger display model offering 5G connectivity and a total of six cameras. The base model is expected to come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor while the premium model will include Qualcomm-designed in-display fingerprint sensor.

Alongside this leaked image of the Galaxy S10+, the smartphone has also stopped by benchmark to reveal the guts of Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 under the hood. The benchmark suggests that Snapdragon 855 inside the Galaxy S10+ will be faster than Kirin 980 powering Mate 20 Pro and Exynos 9820 likely to be used on Galaxy S10 models in Asian marke

Vodafone Idea, the country’s leading telecommunications service provider is sending out SMSes to its users stating to stay away from suspicious numbers. Telcos usually warn their users to stay alert all the time and not pick up any unwanted incoming voice calls received on their mobile phone, but this time around, Vodafone Idea is sending out a text message to each and every customer notifying that there might be some threat behind that suspicious voice call. “While receiving an international call, if an Indian number or no number us displayed on your phone, please inform on toll-free number 1800-110-420 or 1963,” reads the message from Vodafone Idea.

Vodafone Idea Urges Users to Keep the Company Informed About Suspicious Calls

The newly formed entity of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular is seeking help from its subscribers to trace out these calls. As the message by the company reads, it’s asking the users who received an anonymous voice call to immediately inform by calling the toll-free numbers- ‘1963’ or ‘1800-110-420’. This news is reported by ET Telecom stating that several Vodafone Idea customers are receiving the same message.

For the unaware, the two helpline numbers mentioned above were introduced by Trai last year, making it easier for subscribers to immediately report any suspicious call they receive. Every year, the government traces out such anonymous calls from unknown mobile numbers based on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), so if you receive any such voice call, go ahead and dial the numbers mentioned above.

Another interesting data to note is that the government traced out various illegal exchanges last year in Delhi. According to the report, the government had traced out 11 illegal exchanges in 2016-17 in Andhra Pradesh, six in Eastern Uttar Pradesh in 2017-18, two issues in Kerala and one issue in Odisha. While Andhra Pradesh had the maximum illegal exchanges of 11 in 2016-17, the count reduced to zero in 2017-18.

Other Telcos Also Warn Their Users to Stay Alert

This is not the first time we’re seeing such useful messages from a telco. In the past, Bharti Airtel also warned its users always to stay away from an anonymous call asking for any of your details or trying to make an illegal activity. The new entrant Reliance Jio also keeps its users updated about such info.

Install Anti-Spam Apps to Stay Active

There are several mobile applications available on the web which gives information about the call or text message you’re receiving. For example, we have Truecaller which runs in the background and gives you the Caller ID for an incoming call. Also, it displays whether the mobile number is marked as spam or not. Usually, Truecaller works on the data given by public and if a user marks a particular number as spam, it will be displayed as spam for other users as well.

Oppo R19: Moving Up From Sliders

Mechanical sliders made a comeback recently, and companies are finding ways to increase screen space as much as possible. While notches, sliders and popping cameras compensated durability, Oppo has an all new technology.

The Oppo R19 concept model has two in-display holes hosting the dual selfie cameras up front.

This has helped the display to take up more screen space with very thin bezels. The Oppo R models have always been about innovative features. From Oppo R15 to the R17 Pro, the company has been able to push itself outside the boundaries.

Oppo R19 Features & Specs

The smartphone will come with an AMOLED display, an on-screen fingerprint reader and a rear triple camera setup like P20 Pro. The smartphone will support 5G, and is expected to launch in China in the first half of 2019. The leaked images already show a 5G logo, suggesting it as the first commercial 5G phone from Oppo.

The renders say that Oppo R19 will come with 6GB of RAM in two storage variants of 64GB and 128GB editions.

Up front, the smartphone will come with two cameras inside the display featuring a 40-megapixel dual camera setup. The company is yet to comment on the official details but is expected to put out the official teasers soon.

More Than 95 Percent Screen-To-Body Ratio: Galaxy S10 & OnePlus 7 To Follow

The leaked images suggest that Oppo R19 may come with a mighty screen-to-body ratio of more than 95 percent. The current best is the Mi MIX 3 which achieved a screen to body ratio of 93.4 percent followed by 93 percent on Oppo Find X.

The much-rumored Samsung Galaxy S10 is expected to launch with the first in-display camera technology. The South Korean giant is working on a number of industry-first features for its upcoming Galaxy S10.

The Oppo R19 will also pave a new way for next OnePlus flagship.

The sister company is known to inspire from the designs of the R models, so we may see some inspiration on the upcoming OnePlus 7 as well. OnePlus is known to take from OPPO R-series designs, so probably the company will adopt the new display design for OnePlus 7.

Coming to the Oppo R19, the smartphone likely arrives in March 2019, with an expected Pro version.
