ICC 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup Begins: Hit Those Big Shots With Today's Google Doodle

After the end of the ICC Chamapions Trophy that saw Pakistan take home the Champions Trophy, It's now time for the ICC Women's World Cup. Google celebrated the opening day of the cup with its live doodle. You can try your hand with the bat as the doodle allows you to play a game of cricket yourself.

Cricket is one game that is watched worldwide. Score those big runs through the whimsical doodle game of cricket. Get those cheers as you swing your bat into the crowd for those shots.

Try your hand at Google doodle's pest cricket as they go up against their arch-rivals, the snails. The doodle lets you challenge other to a game with the option to share your scores with them.

Don't worry about slow mobile network, as the doodle is assured to
work on any snail paced speed keeping the file size, fly-sized.

The  2017 ICC Women's World Cup held in England and Whales will have eight teams up against each other. Teams include Australia, England, South Africa, India, West Indies, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The opening match at Bristol Country Ground will be between the New Zealand Women team and the Sri Lankan Women team.

The Women's Cricket World Cup takes to fields across England this weekend, looking to bowl over youngsters and women, not to mention businesses, with their event.

Women's cricket makes 2017 World Cup declaration of intent
As well as seeking to encourage more girls and boys to take up the sport, organisers also want more females to follow cricket, while convincing young sportswomen there is a worthwhile career for them in the game.
Ironically, for what is the most financially lucrative women's world cup to date, making huge amounts of money from the event is not the main priority.
And there is a lot of cash around the eight-team tournament - with record prize money of $2m (£1.57m), healthy ticket sales, and big name International Cricket Council (ICC) global sponsors such as Nissan, Emirates, Hublot and Moneygram backing the event.
Rather, it is hoped that the money being spent now on the 28-day, 31-match, tournament, will be a catalyst that piques the interest of potential commercial sponsors in both the UK and elsewhere.

'Looking for relevance'

"What strikes me is that we have been presented with this huge potential for growth in so many areas, sporting and financial," Clare Connor, head of England Women's Cricket and a former national team captain, tells me.
"We have got a sport, cricket, that is looking for relevance. People are asking 'how can we help take cricket into a new era?'
"One way is to engage with young women and girls. We have to maximise these opportunities during the World Cup."
Ms Connor, who is also chair of the women's committee at cricket's governing body the ICC, said that irrespective of who wins, the world cup offers a chance to grow the sport in lots of creative ways.

Soft ball programme

One way is through the ECB's All Stars Cricket, aimed at providing children aged five to eight with a memorable first experience of the sport. The nationwide entry-level participation programme aims to get 50,000 girls and boys - and their families - excited by the game over the summer.
"We also have a soft ball initiative specifically for women." says Ms Connor, with a number of festivals being held during the World Cup.
As well as boosting participation, getting more women to follow women's cricket is a major goal.
"At the moment it is a fallacy to think women watch women's cricket. More males than females are cricket fans," the 40-year-old says.
"Cricket is not currently as relevant to women as it is to men, but the World Cup gives us an opportunity to change that."
She said that the majority of tickets, some 80%, had been sold to fans of England Cricket, and that she expected a high majority of them to be to men.

'Altered audiences'

"But work by our marketing team does show there is a growing interest in watching by women," she adds. "That is why a lot of our marketing of the All Stars children's programme is targeted at mums, we are looking to engage them in the whole experience."
She said a new city-based eight-team Twenty20 tournament, due to start in 2020,was the ideal way to attract a new female audience.
Women's cricket makes 2017 World Cup declaration of intent
"We have been looking at Australia and the Women's Big Bash, where 50% of spectators are women. They have totally altered the make up of their audience, and that is something we would look to emulate."
The tournament was brought forward so more matches sat in school term time. Just less than half of the matches are taking place on weekdays which presents an opportunity for local schools to witness tournament action live.
Meanwhile, Ms Connor says tickets for World Cup games have been priced to allow an affordable family day out. England's opening game against India is sold out, and 15,000 tickets have been sold for the final at Lord's.
The 25-year-old is the daughter of Ian Shrubsole, a former Minor Counties cricketer in the 1990s. At 13 she was the first girl to join the Somerset Academy.
"I remember from the age of three or four my dad playing, and going out onto the pitch at the interval, throwing a ball around. That is my first memory of cricket. I then really got into it when I was at school.
"Back then, when I was growing up and coming through as a player there was an element of financial reward, but not enough to live off it. The money you received wasn't enough, you couldn't have afforded a mortgage.
"However, that wasn't something that was a real issue for me, I wanted to be as good as I could be.
"But I graduated at the same time that cricket turned professional. So I have never had the worry of trying to find a job alongside playing cricket.
"In means that in terms of staying in cricket, it is now a viable career option for young women whereas previously it wasn't. You make a living out of women's cricket, like you can with women's football. Before that you would have needed a separate job alongside.
"It is an immense honour to represent your country, One of the strengths of women's sport is that they are playing for the real love of the game.
"I think we are role models for youngsters. I am guilty sometimes of not thinking that I am, but anyone who plays international sport is a role model.
"The game is still in quite a developmental stage, and I am hopeful we will have a young audience growing up alongside the sport."

'Challenger sport'

On ticket pricing, the ICC worked with a specialist agency to look at various ticket prices both at the venues (so including men's and women's cricket domestic and international), cricket as a whole, and also looked at other women's sports events in this country.
"We are not going to make a great deal of money out of it," says Ms Connor.
But she adds: "We are hoping that eventually the event becomes a commercial money spinner.
"For example, we hope that companies see there is an opportunity there to get involved in women's cricket, like Kia did a few years ago, when they became the official car of the England women's team.
"They saw the women's game as a real area of growth. As a challenger brand they were keen to work with women's cricket which they saw as a challenger sport."

'Transformed'

Other positives for the women's game are the widespread media coverage being given to the World Cup. In addition to the scheduled 10 fixtures to be broadcast live on TV, the remaining 21 World Cup matches will be streamed live.
There will be radio commentary and video highlights on BBC radio and sport website.
Meanwhile, the ICC has committed to equal prize money for women and men's cricket by 2032.
"There will be a strategic plan to ensure that the game can deliver equal prize money in 15 years time," says Ms Connor.
"The women's game has only been under the ICC's auspices since 2005. If you think of the developments since then, it is a sport transformed. The World Cup will continue that transformation."

  • Opener Lauren Winfield misses match with wrist injury

The England captain, Heather Knight, jumped on a train from London to Derby on Friday morning. The India captain, Mithali Raj, made the same trip late on Thursday evening after an ICC event involving all eight World Cup captains hosted at Whitehall – the last of numerous ambassadorial duties the players have had to participate in – fittingly dragged on. Finally, we are getting some cricket.
England and India open the tournament on Saturday at Derbyshire’s County Ground: an impressive new press box and a few licks of ICC official branding sprucing up a ground that expects over 3,000 supporters. Just after midday on Friday, Knight was out in the middle inspecting a pitch expected to play well. She had selection matters on her mind.
The opening bat Lauren Winfield was ruled out with an injury to her right wrist sustained during the final warm-up fixture against New Zealand on Wednesday. She is also a doubt for the second match against Pakistan, which takes place on Tuesday in Leicester. She is set for a scan and in the meantime is wearing a protective cast.
Winfield’s injury is a huge blow on the eve of a home World Cup. Given a sustained go as opener from the start of last summer against Pakistan, she scored 439 runs in 10 innings that spanned tours away to West Indies and Sri Lanka.
Her absence also splits a young, dynamic opening partnership with Tammy Beaumont. The pair spent years together defacing the record books at Lough borough University and were starting to do the same at international level. In the second ODI against Pakistan last summer, they both scored maiden centuries on their way to setting a record opening stand of 235. It was also the sixth highest for any ODI wicket.
Mark Robinson, the England coach, confirmed Winfield’s replacement has been informed she will be opening. Those outside the squad will find out at the toss. They are not short of options: Knight and Sarah Taylor have opened, while the less established duo of Georgia Elwiss and Fran Wilson are perfectly capable against the new ball.
None of these worries change anything for Knight. She welcomes the pressure of being hosts, determined to make good on a year’s worth of graft since a disappointing World T20.
“As a team we have really tried to embrace that it is a home World Cup,” she said. “We know that brings added pressure but we are in a good place to deal with that. Having the crowd on our side will be a nice feeling but obviously there are a lot of India fans in England. That’ll make for an interesting day.”
As for Raj, she was optimistic and defiant in equal measure. By her approximations, this World Cup makes it “between eight or 10” trips to England in a career that started on these shores. Since an ODI debut against Ireland, she has become a commanding presence as a churner of runs – 5,781 in ODIs, taking in five centuries and 46 fifties – and a mainstay of women’s cricket, globally and at home.
At the ICC dinner, she put a journalist in his place when he asked: “Who is your favourite cricketer from the men’s cricket teams of India and Pakistan?” After a moment of silence, Raj responded: “Do you ask the same question to a male cricketer?” Raj began. “Do you ask them who their favourite female cricketer is?”
She used the press conference on the eve of the opening World Cup fixture to clarify her remarks. Impressively, she did not dilute the message.
“I didn’t intend to be rude,” she said. “It just came straight from my heart. This is a stage for women’s cricket – it’s the women’s cricket World Cup. So, why would you not give a women player more importance? This is our stage. Our platform. Why do you have to talk about men’s cricket? I just put it that way. That’s what I meant.”
“Look – I’m sure everybody has their favourite cricketer. There’s nothing wrong in that. It just came out. It was very spontaneous.”
Not a ball has been bowled and already the women are playing some expansive shots.

Wally Lewis warns Maroons not get caught up in Johnathan Thurston drama
YOU can turn up for Johnathan Thurston’s farewell but don’t forget to rock up to the game.
That’s the warning Queensland legend Wally Lewis has for the Maroons after Thurston was on Friday ruled out of this year’s State of Origin finale and the rest of the NRL season with a shoulder injury.
After forcing a decider with his matchwinning conversion in game two, Thurston will watch from the sidelines at Suncorp Stadium on July 12. And while Lewis admits the North Queensland star’s on-field absence will provide extra motivation for the Maroons, the Immortal is urging the team not to be distracted by the drama.
“It would be a nice way to do it, to be able to say to JT, ‘We did it for you’ but I don’t think it should be the centre of attention in winning game three,” Lewis told AAP.
“In a funny way, even bringing JT’s name into it might be the worst possible thing. They’re going to be concentrating on winning the game for a different reason than wrapping up the series up.”
Lewis, who was farewelled a winner in the 1991 Origin decider at the old Lang Park, admits Thurston’s exit from the representative arena will ensure a capacity crowd in Brisbane.
“It’s always used in the promotion for it, spoken about in the press,” he said. But he insists the primary objective must be staying focused on how the Maroons will overcome a Blues team that will be buoyed by Thurston’s absence. NSW stunned Queensland 28-4 in game one.
“All of the blokes that take part in it, they’re the first ones to put their hands up and say, ‘That’s bullshit, you’re not playing for me. You’re playing to wrap up the series’,” Lewis said.
“To carry on with this garbage that you’re playing to send him out a winner, that’s not part of it.
“The guys are instructed to do one thing — to stick to the game plan, to retain that in their mind all the way through in the build-up and achieve success for the right reason.
“The players, they’ll speak about it once.
“They’ll say we do want to make sure JT can enjoy it as well. But this is all about us sticking to the game plan and making sure we win it because unfortunately he won’t be playing any part in it.”

Live Score, India (IND) vs (WI) West Indies: India Face Caribbean Hurdle

Live cricket score and ball-by-ball commentary from the 1st ODI match between India (IND) and (WI) West Indies at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad on Friday.

Captain Virat Kohli will look to put to rest, all the off-field controversies regarding Anil Kumble's controversial exit, as India gear up for the first ODI against a second string West Indies, here on Friday. Ironically, it was the Caribbean Islands, where Anil Kumble's journey as the chief national coach started but within a year, the team is back without its coach. A 5-0 whitewash is something that is expected against a side that has a cumulative ODI experience of 213 matches between 13 players with skipper Holder as the most-capped player with 58 matches to his name.
For India, this series is also an ideal platform to test the team's bench strength. With Jasprit Bumrah being rested for the series, it will be an ideal opportunity for the captain to check out Mohammed Shami, who did not get a game during the Champions Trophy. The pacer has not played any official ODI since the 2015 World Cup semi-final post which he had multiple surgeries and played a few Test matches only. Shami will be keen to regain his place in the ODI XI and West Indies gives him a proper chance to do so.

West Indies vs India, Live Cricket Streaming:

West Indies vs India first ODI is set to begin at 9am local time, 6.30pm IST. TV and live streaming information is below.
India: TV: Ten 3, Ten 1 HD, Sony Six, Sony Six HD. Live Streaming: Sonyliv.
USA: TV: Willow TV. Live Streaming: Willow TV online.
UK: TV: Sky Sports. Live Streaming: Sky Sports Watch.
South Africa: TV: SuperSport Six. Live Streaming: SuperSport Live Video.

West Indies take on India in the first of the 5 ODIs at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain. The hosts are coming into the fixture after a drawn series against Afghanistan. The last game was washed out and it hampered their chances of automatic qualification for the 2019 World Cup. They were aggressive with the ball and it should be interesting to see if they employ the same tactics against India. They were found wanting against the spin of Rashid Khan though and would be hoping to not repeat the mistakes against a side brimming with spinners. Kuldeep Yadav in particular could trouble quite a lot of them. The touring side will be hurting after the loss to Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final and will aim to get back to dominating sides in the 50-over format. There will be talks about Anil Kumble resigning but the Indian fans will hope that the skipper Virat Kohli ensures that it does not impact their performance. The visitors will look to fix the chinks in their armor and could also look at trying new combinations with no Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. The series may not mean a lot to them but it is of utmost importance to the home side. Any number of wins could go a long way in helping their cause. Jason Holder and company will hope to raise their game and spring a few surprises. India start favorites but we have seen strange things happen in this funny old game of cricket. Hopefully the rains will stay away and we will have a full game.

Salah on why Liverpool are getting a much better deal than Chelsea did
Mohamed Salah feels he is in a far stronger position to succeed in the Premier League second time round after enduring a touch spell at Chelsea back in 2014.

Liverpool’s latest signing is keen to prove a point in England after signing for the Reds on a five-year deal late on Thursday.

The Egyptian made only 19 appearances during his time at Stamford Bridge but has since taken Europe by storm, enjoying an impressive loan spell at Fiorentina before excelling in a strong Roma side for which he scored 34 goals and registered 18 assists in 81 appearances.

Salah is confident his new club are getting a far more accomplished player than Chelsea got three-and-a-half years ago.

“100 per cent, yes! Everything [has improved]. Even my personality was different, I was a kid – I was 20 or 21,” he told LFCTV.

“Now I’m four years older, everything is different. I have lots of experience in three clubs: I was at Chelsea, then Fiorentina and then Roma. I have good experience.”

“Even if I see myself playing very well in one thing, I try to improve to do it better and better. I always think about the small details because I need to improve more and more.”

Salah arrives having emerged a standout performer in one of Italy’s elite sides and as a player with an apparent personal motivation to not only make a name for himself in England’s top flight but to also win trophies with his new team.

What was an initially raw natural talent has been polished and moulded into a skill set capable of helping him become one of the most exciting forwards in the country. Matching traits to that of Sadio Mane mean he immediately improves an already frightening attacking force.

The thought of Salah and Mane on either wing promises to give countless opposing full-backs sleepless nights next season.

Danny Ainge: Kansas’ Josh Jackson ‘Didn’t Want To Play For The Celtics’
BOSTON — Kansas forward Josh Jackson’s skill set would have made him a good fit on the Boston Celtics, but they never got the chance to see him up close for a workout or a meeting.

Jackson canceled a workout on the Celtics last week, and despite a report that the C’s did see him shortly before Thursday night’s 2017 NBA Draft, Boston president of basketball operations confirmed after the draft that he never met with the Jayhawks swingman.

“I never talked with Josh. No one in our organization did,” Ainge said. “They canceled a workout on us when we flew out to Sacramento, and they just decided to cancel it as we flew. It was (Celtics coach Stevens) and I and Mike Zarren flew cross country. There was something, that he didn’t want to play for the Celtics. In spite of that, we’ve watched Josh for two years, and we’re fans (of him).

He’s a terrific kid and a good player. “We try not to overreact to those types of things and make a big deal of it. Agents and players have all sorts of motivations to get to certain places. As we’ve seen in the past, you remember last year, Kris Dunn didn’t want to come here. We didn’t hold it against him. We felt like we would just take the player that we wanted. “I think the same thing this time.

I don’t think we tried to penalize Josh too much. We just didn’t get to see him or talk to him face-to-face.” Jackson canceling the workout didn’t rule him out from contention to be drafted No. 3 overall, but it didn’t sit too well with Ainge.

“I was mad,” Ainge said. “Flew across country, are you kidding me? I had to get up at 4 o’clock and fly back home. What did Danny do in Sacramento instead of meeting with Jackson? “There’s nothing to do in Sacramento,” Ainge said with a smile. Ainge and the Celtics used the No. 3 pick to select Duke forward Jayson Tatum, who has a similar game and body type as Jackson. Tatum is a better scorer, but Jackson is the better defender.

The Celtics ultimately selected the player they wanted most - Ainge admitted he would’ve draft Tatum No. 1, too — but it would’ve been interesting to see how the C’s draft board would’ve changed if they got to see Jackson up close.

Port-of-Spain: Even as Team India prepared for the opening match of the ODI series against West Indies, beginning Friday, they were paid a surprise visit by a player who has had a long standing relationship with both West Indies and Indian cricket.

Star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, along with half-brother Darren Bravo, met some of the Indian players at the Queen's Park Oval when the 'Men in Blue' were busy practicing. Both the players are not part of West Indies' squad for the first two ODIs against India.

Dwayne Bravo has had a long relationship with Indian cricket due to his stints with the Indian Premier League. Bravo has been a star performer for franchises like Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Lions, although he missed the entire season this year due to an injury.

Darren Bravo too has had a brief stint in the IPL with the Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders, but has failed to really make any impact.

In an image tweeted by the BCCI, the Bravo brothers were seen sharing a light moment with MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant.

Dwayne Bravo shares a good bond with most of the Indian players. Last year when India and West Indies played two T20Is in Florida, it was Bravo who ensured the Windies won the first match when he bowled a tight last over and got the better of MS Dhoni, who could not finish the match for India.

Duvvada Jagannadham or DJ movie review: Allu Arjun is a one-man army
Duvvada Jagannadham or DJ movie review: The chemistry between Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in the film has already become a hit, thanks to music by composer Devi Sri Prasad. All the songs from the film are well received. The movie is special for producer Dil Raju as it is a landmark film in his career.

Duvvada Jagannadham or DJ movie director: Harish Shankar
Duvvada Jagannadham or DJ movie cast: Allu Arjun, Pooja Hegde, Vennela Kishore, Rao Ramesh
Duvvada Jagannadham or DJ movie rating: 2.5 stars

A misfit, rebellious teenager from the Brahmin community, Duvvada Jagannadham, guns down five goons who try to kill an honest cop at a deserted public place. Without thinking twice, the same kid empties the remaining bullets into a rape accused at the police station from the same gun that he used to kill five bad people earlier that day. It was just the beginning of a series of killings that were about to follow. The honest cop, played by Murali Sharma, sees a warrior in the boy and lets him continue the killings with impunity to uphold justice and punish the wrongdoers so that he can sleep peacefully at night.

About 15 minutes into the film, we are introduced to now adult Duvvada Jagannadham (played by Allu Arjun) one of the most loved youngsters in his community. A Brahmin youngster, who has mastered the Vedas and mantras, takes care of his family and its business that is catering services, respects elder, abides by the law (in the day) and keep preaching the right messages to the civil society. He is the ideal son and citizen when he is around his family members. When he steps away, his body and language completely change and he goes by the name DJ, a legend of sorts among the criminals. Any criminal who has the misfortune to see in person means that he has lived his last day on the earth.

In simple words, he is a vigilante. But, director Harish Shankar, who has also written the film, has failed to give a solid reason to justify what drives a teenager to kill criminals in cold blood and continue doing so for years. It seems like he overlooked the necessity of logic while writing this film, hoping that the fans would accept Allu Arjun anyway and without questioning.

DJ managed to capture the interest of the audience when the filmmakers released the teaser showing Allu in a non-glamorous avatar as a Brahmin boy. And the director has managed to milk that role in the film to the hilt to enthrall the audience. In a scene, DJ introduces himself to a group of goons, before killing them in style as the most interesting and entertaining character. But, actually, it is his Duvvada Jagannadham character that keeps the audience engaged throughout the film. His mannerism and dialogues draw some genuine laughs from the audience. When it comes to DJ, let’s say we have seen Allu playing that role in many films under various names in the past. Duvvada Jagannadham’s role is rather the only surprise in this regular run-of-the-mill commercial entertainer.
Harish, meanwhile, has packed some punch into the screenplay of the film keeping hard-core Allu Arjun fans in mind. Allu’s performance is the mainstay. While we expected Vennela Kishore to deliver some rib-tickling comedy, his character and jokes fall flat. Allu excels in the comedy in the film too. It looks like the director has poured all the interesting ideas into one character and made DJ alias Duvvada Jagannadham.

Pooja Hegde has convincingly done the given job that is to look stunning in every frame of the film. Especially, she looks ravishing in all the song sequences. Rao Ramesh’s character that initially comes across as a clever antagonist, has been compromised just to benefit the DJ character. No other performances stand out in the film except Allu Arjun’s. It is a commercial entertainer made by the book and it works to some extent. And yes, composer Devi Sri Prasad’s music is a big plus and dance choreography is just the icing on the cake. If you can keep your expectations level low and watch the movie, it might just be the thing for a lazy weekend.

Personal trainer of Jimmy Butler slams Bulls front office on Twitter
In a rebuilding effort, the Chicago Bulls traded their star player Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2017 NBA Draft.

One source connected with Butler said the former Bulls star was “great” and glad to be with his former coach. When ESPN reached out, Butler did not have a comment. He found out around 2:00 AM in Paris, where he visiting for their fashion week.

Meanwhile, Butler’s trainer Travelle Gaines was less positive about the trade to Minnesota via his Twitter. The tweet was posted around 4:00 AM as he is also in Paris.

Gaines has also worked with other athletes including former NBA star Brandon Roy as well as the NFL’s LeSean McCoy. Butler had this to say about Gaines (via AthleticGaines.com):

I wanted to take my training to the next level so I decided to use the Athletic Gaines program year around and I feel more explosive, a lot stronger and my conditioning level is up another notch.

Earlier in the night, Gaines also posted on Twitter and asked for connections to real estate agents in Minneapolis. Meanwhile, his agent had a more tame reaction.

Confederations Cup: Australia held 1-1 by Cameroon, needs miracle Chile win to progress
The Socceroos need to defeat world number four Chile by two clear goals to continue their Confederations Cup in the semi-finals after labouring to a 1-1 draw with Cameroon.

Ange Postecoglou's side now heads to Moscow with the almighty goal of upsetting the South American champions and tournament favourites, who drew 1-1 with Germany later on Thursday night.

Once again, the Socceroos failed to produce a full 90-minute performance to be proud of.

While Australia "bossed" possession, Cameroon won more of the battles — and the shot count 19 to five.

Postecoglou rued a "little lapse" for Cameroon's opener, seeing merit in the more composed showing even if they failed to fire up front.

"We worked our way into the game really well and controlled large parts [but] we lacked a little bit of composure in the final third to get some meaningful chances," he said.

"Credit to the players. They worked their hearts out.

The Socceroos started more confidently than their horror show against Germany.

However, their ascendancy faded, leaving only Cameroon playing with the urgency that the do-or-die match required.

Impressive youngster Christian Bassogog enjoyed a couple of early shots on goal, ruthlessly exposing Milos Degenek's lack of pace with one run.

The Socceroo defender was found wanting for the opener, when Zambo Anguissa beat him to a long ball and dinked an effort over rushing goalkeeper Mat Ryan.

It was no less than Cameroon deserved going into the break but Australia picked up the pace in the second half.

Mat Leckie sent a pair of dangerous balls into the box but they were wasted by Tomi Juric and Tom Rogic.

The match swung again and on 57 minutes, the Socceroos rode their luck.

Vincent Aboubakar sent a shot both narrowly wide and through Zambo Anguissa's legs just a metre from goal with Ryan beaten.

The move should have put the game on Cameroon's terms but instead, a driving run from Gersbach brought Milligan to the spot.

The impressive 20-year-old was brashly tackled in the box by Ernest Mabouka and the Australian skipper converted.

Postecoglou threw on James Troisi, Tim Cahill and Jackson Irvine looking for a winner that did not come.

Cameroon boss Hugo Broos saw injustice in the result, pointing to the shots count.

"The statistic says everything about the game. I think we should have always have won the game," he said.

"On the 90 minutes we were the better team, we had the better chances."
Cameroon's fate is the same as Australia's. The Indomitable Lions need to beat Germany by two goals on Sunday to make it through to the last four.

Why Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has to fight Galaxy Note 7 ghost besides competing with iPhone 8
Samsung was known for its Galaxy Note series until last year's Galaxy Note 7 pushed it to the edge of the precipice, not only affecting its revenue but also damaging its image. The device had to be discontinued before being recalled after several consumers complained of their devices catching fire. Many might have thought that the disappointing experience would trigger the South Korean technology giant to kill the Note series forever but that was not the case as it is planning to bring the Galaxy Note 8 in the next few months.

It's good that Samsung has decided to produce a new Galaxy Note device and its fans will be glad but it comes with a big risk – close to "do or die" situation. If the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 is received well by the consumers, it will give a new life to the South Korean company but its failure could place it in a dangerous situation because of the growing competition from other mobile phone manufacturing companies. ost of trust from
