Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) & Galaxy A6+ (2018) Smartphones – Everything You Need to Know
In the last few weeks, we have seen several leaks about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy J6 2018 smartphone. It will be the first ever smartphone in the Galaxy J-series to launch with 18.5:9 Infinity Display. The company seems to launch at least a couple more smartphones featuring Infinity Display. Now, the press renders and key specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A6 (2018) smartphones are now leaked. The Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) are the first Galaxy A-series smartphones to launch with Infinity Display.
We expect the company to launch both the Galaxy A6 (2018) & A6+ (2018) smartphones in the coming weeks. Both the devices with the model numbers SM-A600FN and SM-A605G recently got certified by the FCC. From the above featured image, we can confirm the device to come with the metal unibody design. Apart from different screen sizes, both the new Galaxy A6 devices are said to look exactly similar. The devices come with triple card slot for adding two SIM cards and one MicroSD card. While the power button and loudspeaker are placed on the right edge, the volume rocker is on the left edge. Both the front and rear cameras on this device come accompanied by a LED flash. As seen on the Galaxy S9 devices, the Galaxy A6+ (2018) also sports vertically aligned dual cameras on the rear.
Just below the dual camera sensors is the fingerprint sensor. The Galaxy A6+ (2018) comes with a 6-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display with Full HD+ (2220 x 1080 pixels) resolution. The device will be powered by the 14nm Exynos 7870 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-T830 GPU and 4GB of RAM. On the other hand, the Galaxy A6 (2018) sports a smaller 5.6-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display. Unlike the Galaxy A6+ (2018), the Galaxy A6 (2018) only comes with a single rear camera. While the Galaxy A6 (2018) packs 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, the Galaxy A6+ (2018) offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Connectivity options include Cat.6 LTE, Wi-Fi (2.4GHz & 5GHz), GPS, Glonass, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. The devices will be available in Black, Gold, and Blue color options. We can expect the official launch event to happen in the next few days. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!

Huawei P20 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S9+ vs Apple iPhone X: Price, features compared
Huawei P20 Pro, the flagship smartphone with a Leica-branded triple-camera setup, has been officially launched in India. The smartphone has been launched exclusively on Amazon India and will go on its first sale on May 3. The Huawei P20 Pro is priced at Rs 64,999 and comes only in one storage variant. Huawei is launching its P-series after a gap of more than a year. It launched its P9 flagship in India but decided against launching the P10 and P10 Plus. This year, however, Huawei is bringing P20 Lite and P20 Pro to the Indian market and has decided against launching the standard P20. For anybody interested in smartphones, it is easy to say that Huawei P20 Pro is one of the most interesting smartphones in the recent times. Huawei P20 Pro’s major highlight is the triple-camera system with Leica-branded lens but however, the Chinese smartphone maker has also taken deep care to make its flagship outstanding in terms of design and overall aesthetics. One of the key element of that attention to detail is the new twilight color which changes its hue as soon as you tilt it around a light source. It is unlike anything else in the market but it also comes with very strong competition. The Huawei P20 Pro’s direct competitors in India would be the Galaxy S9+ and Apple iPhone X.
Huawei P20 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S9+ vs Apple iPhone X: Design and Display This is probably the most difficult area to compare these three devices since all of them have their own distinct styling. Let’s start with the P20 Pro; Huawei has used a nice mix of metal and glass with a texture on its back that makes it stand out when stacked against other premium smartphones. However, the Galaxy S9+ with its fused metal and glass casing and curved edge display is a killer in terms of looks. Then there is iPhone X, which is understated at first but uses stainless casing, Gorilla Glass back and edge-to-edge display to stay worthy of that premium branding. However, when it comes to display, Huawei falls miserably short of matching Samsung and Apple.
The Galaxy S9+ features a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a Quad HD+ resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The iPhone X features a 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The Huawei P20 Pro, on the other hand, features a 6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution 2280 x 1080 pixels and aspect ratio of 18.7:9. It just doesn’t cut in areas like saturation and color reproduction. The Galaxy S9+ and iPhone X have far brighter and color accurate display panels. It is also worth noting that iPhone X and P20 Pro have a notch or cut-out at the top of the display, which may or may not beneficial.
Huawei P20 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S9+ vs Apple iPhone X: Specifications Since these three smartphones are flagship, they definitely come with flagship-grade specifications as well and all three devices use their own indigenously developed mobile processors. The Huawei P20 Pro uses company’s own Kirin 970 chipset with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The octa-core chipset also comes with a dedicated neural processing unit for executing AI applications like voice assistant and object recognition. Huawei is offering the smartphone in only one storage option. Samsung has also equipped its Galaxy S9+ with top-shelf specifications. Under the hood, it gets an octa-core Exynos 9810 SoC with some support for machine learning and neural processing. It comes with 6GB RAM as standard but can be purchased with option for either 64GB or 128GB or 256GB of storage.
Samsung is trying to cover a wide range of audience here and with a price difference of just Rs 4,000 between these storage variants, the South Korean company seems to have properly sorted its product offering. Apple iPhone X is undoubtedly the most powerful smartphone ever made. In synthetic benchmarks, the iPhone X is far, far ahead of Galaxy S9+ and Huawei P20 Pro. It is as powerful as some of the mainstream computer chipsets right now. On the hardware side, it has just 3GB of RAM and option for either 64GB or 256GB of storage but Apple has optimized its iOS mobile operating system to such an extent that the iPhone X will never slow down that easily. On the contrary, Huawei P20 Pro runs Android 8.1 Oreo with its own EMUI on top of it. The Galaxy S9+ runs Android 8.0 Oreo layered with Samsung experience. Over the long term, this could prove to be the biggest disappointment for these two devices since neither Samsung nor Huawei have a very proven record in the software department and are known to offer duplicate apps and bloatware.
Huawei P20 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S9+ vs Apple iPhone X: Cameras That brings us to cameras, an area that Huawei P20 Pro owns. The P20 Pro comes with not one, not two but three cameras at the back. The triple-camera setup and the selfie camera combined have a resolution of 92-megapixels, if that sounds overkill then it is. The triple camera setup is comprised of a primary 40-megapixel image sensor, a secondary 8-megapixel telephoto sensor and third 20-megapixel monochrome sensor. The P20 Pro also uses larger sensors than what we have seen on smartphones so far. In terms of camera results, the P20 Pro holds its own ground as one of the best smartphone cameras but it is hard to decide whether it is any better than Samsung or Google or Apple’s offering. One of the highlight of the P20 Pro is night mode where the camera automatically switches to 4-second long exposure and with bigger sensor, the result tends to be better than rivals. But Huawei also tends to do over process its image compared to Samsung or Apple.
The Galaxy S9+ features a dual 12-megapixel rear-camera system with its primary 12-megapixel sensor supporting mechanical aperture. With the Galaxy S9+, users can manually switch between wider f/1.5 and narrower f/2.4 aperture. In low-light, Samsung tends to absorb more light due to its wide aperture but the daylight pictures are where it shines with crisp details and not a lot of software processing. Apple has the most neutral stance of the pack here. The iPhone X also features dual 12-megapixel camera setup and captures natural looking photos most of the time. It is, however, not the best when it comes to dynamic range. If one area where iPhone X outshines others then it would be in 4K video recording at 60 frames per second. The Galaxy S9+ and Huawei P20 Pro offer a unique super slow-motion video recording at 720p resolution. You won’t go wrong with either of the three devices but Huawei does better of the pack here since it has more sensors and new software features.
Huawei P20 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S9+ vs Apple iPhone X: Pricing
Huawei P20 Pro is priced at Rs 64,999, which makes it competitive against Samsung Galaxy S9+ and Apple iPhone X. The Galaxy S9+ starts at Rs 64,900 while the iPhone X seems too expensive for a starting price of Rs 95,390. Huawei has done well with the pricing and its feature set does help it come out on top of Galaxy S9+ and iPhone X. However, it lacks the familiarity of these two brands, and it might be hard to convince a lot of people to spend Rs 65,000 on a Huawei smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy A6, Galaxy A6+ Leaked Renders Show Infinity Display, Metallic Design
Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ are expected to launch this year as two new mid-range handsets from Samsung. Earlier this month, the smartphones were spotted on the company's official site. While not many details were revealed, another leak outed the alleged specifications of the Galaxy A6 duo. Now, a couple of new reports have leaked some renders of the smartphones and their cases, giving us more details about the design of the handsets, which appear to be quite similar to that of the Galaxy S9 flagships. Alleged official case renders of the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+ have been leaked by a Dutch website Galaxy Club, and offer a look at what to expect from the handsets.
The leaked images reveal some key details such as the fact that neither of the smartphones will come with a physical home button, but will include the Infinity Display and a fingerprint reader below the camera. Also, the Galaxy A6+ appears to be the only variant that will sport a dual camera setup at the back. Additionally, the smartphones have included the 3.5mm headphone jack.
The report also reveals that the Galaxy A6 duo will come with Exynos 7870 SoC paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. Meanwhile, some other renders showcasing the Galaxy A6+ have also surfaced on another Dutch website Techtastic. As per the leaked images, the smartphone appears to have a metal unibody design and some newly designed bumpers. The images suggest that the smartphone will be launched in at least two colour variants - Gold and Blue. In the earlier leak, the position of the loudspeaker was not revealed but the new images suggest a strange placement - above the power button on the right edge. As per the leaked images, the smartphones come with two removable trays on the left edge.
This essentially means the Galaxy A6+ will have a tray to hold dual SIM cards as well as a tray to accommodate a microSD card, instead of a hybrid SIM tray. These leaks, however, should be taken with a pinch of salt as it does not come from an official source. To recall the specifications of the smartphones, previous reports had suggested that both variants will include Infinity Displays with a resolution of 1080x2220 pixels in a 18.5:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 441ppi. The Galaxy A6 will reportedly have 5.6-inch display, is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC coupled with 3GB RAM, and features 32GB inbuilt storage. Its bigger sibling, the Galaxy A6+, is expected to sport a 6-inch screen, run on Snapdragon 450 SoC, paired with 4GB RAM, and come with 32GB onboard storage.

Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro Price in India Slashed by Rs. 2,500
Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro has received a price drop in India. To recall, the smartphone was launched at Rs. 27,990 in India in April last year, and the price had since fallen to Rs. 24,900. The retailer reports the Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro price in India is now Rs. 22,400 - a price drop of Rs. 2,500. The updated price is already reflecting on Amazon India, which was the exclusive online retailer partner at launch. Notably, the Samsung India site still shows the Rs. 24,900 price tag - and we've reached out to the company for confirmation about when we can expect the revision on online channels.
However, a Rs. 2,500 Paytm Mall cashback is being promoted by Samsung if the smartphone is bought via the Paytm Mall site, which effectively brings the price down to the same Rs. 22,400 level. The Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro price cut in India was first reported on Saturday by Mahesh Telecom, an established mobile retailer from the Mumbai region.
The Galaxy C7 Pro is a dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) smartphone, and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It sports a full-metal unibody, an Always-on display, a fingerprint scanner on the home button, and 'upcoming' Samsung Pay support. The smartphone bears a 5.7-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Super AMOLED 2.5D Curved Glass display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The Galaxy C7 Pro is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 626 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. The Galaxy C7 Pro features a 16-megapixel sensor on both the front and back with f/1.9 aperture, though the rear camera gets PDAF and a dual-LED flash module in addition.
The cameras are capable of recording full-HD videos at 30 frames per second. The handset is offered with 64GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. Connectivity options on the Galaxy C7 Pro include 4G LTE, USB Type-C, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The Galaxy C7 Pro packs a 3300mAh battery with fast charging support (100 percent in 100 minutes). It measures 156.5x77.2x7mm and weighs 172 grams.

The Galaxy S9 is definitely no match for Apple’s latest iPhones
If you read our in-depth Galaxy S9 review, you know that Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus are by far the company’s most impressive smartphones to date. The phones are more powerful than any flagship Galaxy handsets that have come before them, and they have the best smartphone displays the world has ever seen. The new Super Speed Dual Pixel is best-in-class as well, with dramatically improved low-light performance and a nifty new Super Slow-Mo mode. Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9+ also feature what is arguably the sleekest smartphone design to date, with curved edges on the front and back that fit perfectly in the hand.
They’re truly great phones, perhaps the best Android-powered handsets money can buy right now. Unfortunately, it looks like none of that matters because sales have seemingly been far lower than industry watchers and even Samsung had expected. We’ve seen report after report suggest that sales of Samsung’s new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have been lackluster. The new phones are undoubtedly a big upgrade compared to last year’s Galaxy S8 and S8+, but the visual similarities and the apparent lack of any truly compelling new features has resulted in a shockingly low level of interest from consumers. Now, we have even more evidence that Galaxy S9 sales have been quite poor so far.
Some companies look to sell their brand new phones at full retail price for as long as possible before discounting them or running big promotions. Samsung takes a different approach, however. The company often offers big incentives to customers who preorder new Galaxy S or Galaxy Note phones. Then after release, BOGO deals and accessory bundles are never hard to come by. These deals often help bolster sales, and that was undoubtedly Samsung’s hope when it used the same formula with its Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ launch.
Sadly, it appears as though Samsung’s Galaxy S9 promotions haven’t made the phones any more appealing to potential customers. As CNBC financial reporter Tae Kim pointed out in a post on Twitter, pricing on both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ has been slashed at every single major US wireless carrier except for T-Mobile. Price cuts obviously aren’t uncommon for smartphones, but they are quite uncommon this early in the game — Samsung released the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ just one month ago on March 16th. The new prices can all be found on Samsung’s website. At Verizon, the Galaxy S9 drops to $720 from $800 and the Galaxy S9+ drops to 840 from its launch price of $940. US Cellular branded S9 and S9+ handsets have received identical price cuts.
The AT&T branded Galaxy S9 has fallen to $570 from its $790 launch price, and the S9+ is now $640 instead of $915. Buy a Sprint Galaxy S9 from Samsung and you’ll now pay $720 rather than $792, and the Galaxy S9+ on a Sprint plan will cost you $840, which is down from $912 at launch. High-end smartphone sales are believed to be slowing across the industry. Smartphone profit and revenue leader Apple sold 77.3 million iPhones during the holiday quarter last year, which was down from 78.3 million units in the same quarter a year earlier. The company’s flagship iPhone X was available for less than two months during the quarter, but it reportedly still isn’t selling as well as Apple had hoped.
Of course, sales haven’t been anywhere near bad enough to prompt Apple to discount any phone after just one month of availability, however. Samsung’s next major flagship phone launch isn’t expected to come until sometime in August or September. Even then, however, the pricey Galaxy Note series has never been a big seller for Samsung in terms of volume. Fortunately, Samsung’s chip division continues to reel in record-breaking earnings, which has gone a long way to prop up the company’s smartphone business.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) Now Receiving Android 8.0 Oreo Update
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) has started receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update weeks ahead of the formal schedule. The new update reportedly brings Samsung Experience 9.0 as well as a bunch of performance improvements and tweaks. The handset was notably launched back in January last year with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and received an update to Android Nougat in September.
As reported by users on XDA Developer forums, the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Galaxy A5 (2017) is initially rolling out in Russia and Romania. The update package comes in 1.2GB and brings software version A520FXU4CRD5/A520FOXE4CRD3/A520FXXU4CRD3. Among other features, the latest Android version includes Samsung Experience 9.0 that uplifts the original user interface and comes with an improved keyboard. The keyboard has standard emoji characters, GIFs, and stickers. Also, there are Bixby automation features and improved security integration. Users are recommended to back up their data before proceeding with the update process.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) Android 8.0 Oreo update also requires the latest version of some preloaded apps, including Samsung Pay, Samsung Internet, Samsung Notes, and Email, that users can install individually. Though the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Galaxy A5 (2018) is initially live in select markets, it should roll out in other markets soon, and you can check its availability manually by going to Settings > Software updates. There is importantly no news on the release of Android Oreo for the Galaxy A7 (2017) that debuted alongside the Galaxy A5 (2017) but with superior specifications.
Nevertheless, the handset is also scheduled to receive the fresh Android experience next month. Earlier this week, it was found that Samsung is in plans to upgrade the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge to Android 8.0 Oreo. As per the details obtained from the Wi-Fi Alliance, all US carrier versions of the Galaxy S7 family, including the ones with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon networks, have reportedly received Android Oreo certification.

Samsung Galaxy S10 & Galaxy S10+ Smartphones Screen Size Confirmed
Earlier this year, Samsung launched its latest flagship smartphones – Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. On the design front, the company hasn’t opted major changes. However, the fingerprint sensor is now placed below the camera module. Apart from that change, the Galaxy S9 smartphones look almost similar to Galaxy S8 smartphones. According to the latest news from Korea, the company is said to have confirmed the screen sizes of the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ smartphones. Both the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ will be the 10th-anniversary flagship devices from Samsung.
Just like Apple, Samsung seems to go for edge-to-edge display for these special smartphones. The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ will be coming with 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch displays respectively. FYI, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones came with 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch displays respectively. The company will start the production of the Galaxy S10 display panels in November this year. Based on the rumors, the Galaxy S10 is said to feature iPhone-X like Face ID for better facial recognition than the system used on current gen Galaxy S devices.
Samsung’s Face ID mechanism is said to be still in development stage. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will also be the company’s first smartphone to sport under display fingerprint sensor. As of now, Vivo and Huawei are only two manufacturers to launch smartphones with under display fingerprint sensor. Based on the rumors, the company might opt for the notch display and will shrink the bottom bezel to the minimal levels. Takes these details with a pinch of salt as it’s too early to confirm any details of 2019 flagship devices. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!

Samsung Galaxy J6 will be the First J-series Smartphone to Adopt 18.5:9 Infinity Display
Last year, Samsung introduced the new Infinity display with Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus smartphones. These smartphones came with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and feature minimal bezels on the top and bottom. With very little space below the display, the company also opted for the pressure sensitive virtual home button instead of the physical home button.
In December 2017, Samsung also introduced the Infitiy display in the Galaxy A-series by launching the Galaxy A8 (2018) & Galaxy A8+ (2018) smartphones. Now in 2018, the company seems to expand the Infinity display usage to the affordable Galaxy J-series. The screenshots included in the FCC listing of the smartphone with the model number SM-J600F reveals the on-screen navigation buttons as seen on the other Infinity display smartphones. It is expected to be soon launched as Samsung Galaxy J6 (2018) in the market.
However, we are yet to get the first look of this device. The device is said to measures 146.3 mm in length and 67.0 mm in breadth. Though there is no information about the exact screen size, the diagonal length of the display is mentioned as 142. 8 mm (5.6-inches). It comes with a non-removable battery and supports dual SIM dual standby 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. The device will be offering fingerprint sensor and face unlock for authenticating the device. It also comes with Samsung Pay support for making mobile payments. It features a 3.5mm audio jack and a MicroUSB 2.0 port.
The device lacks fast charging support and only supports up to 5V/1A power input. Last month, the same SM-J600F smartphone was spotted on Geekbench. The listing mentioned the device to run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Under the hood, it comes powered by 1.59GHz Exynos 7870 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-T830 GPU and 3GB RAM. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!

Shocker: Samsung is working on a phone design that copies the iPhone X’s notch
Look at that notch in the image at the top of the screen, Samsung fans. You thought you had escaped it, didn’t you? You thought that somehow, some way, Samsung was going to be the one major player in the smartphone market that didn’t shameless copy Apple’s latest iPhone design.
But alas, it appears as though old habits can be difficult to kick. Samsung is a company that rose to the top of the smartphone industry by shamelessly copying every Apple product it could. The company literally wrote the book on copying Apple. And now, it appears as though Samsung is going back to its old playbook by working on a new smartphone design that blatantly copies Apple’s tenth-anniversary iPhone.
Hardcore Android fans hate the notch. They really, really hate the notch. That makes sense, of course, since it’s a design feature that Apple popularized. Sadly, it looks like there’s almost no escape from the notch in 2018, because nearly every Android phone maker out there is stealing Apple’s notch and using the design on their own phones. From tiny non-name Chinese smartphone makers to some of the biggest brands in the world like Huawei and LG, Android vendors simply can’t get enough of Apple’s iPhone X design.
Just look at this image, which shows 20 different iPhone X copycats in one picture. Samsung is so committed to the Infinity screen design, we thought we might escape seeing yet another iPhone X copycat emerge from the world’s leading smartphone maker. Alas, Samsung has many different smartphone models, not just high-end Galaxy S and Galaxy Note phones, and we may see Samsung swipe Apple’s notched display design on one or several upcoming smartphones. In a Samsung patent application made public last month and spotted recently by Dutch gadget blog Mobielkopen, the South Korean consumer tech giant has shown that it’s toying with the idea of building an iPhone X copycat.
The patent was filed with SIPO, which is China’s equivalent of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) back in 2016, which may be around the same time Samsung Display began working with Apple on the notched OLED screens that would ultimately end up in the iPhone X. We don’t need to dive too deep into the details of the patent, because a picture is worth a thousand words. Behold: Remember how crazy Android fans went when I suggested that the Galaxy S9 might’ve been even better if it had cloned the iPhone X’s display design? Well, we may soon see the idea of a Samsung phone with the iPhone X’s notch become a reality.

Samsung Galaxy S10 to feature 3D sensing camera, in-display fingerprint scanner
It’s barely two months since Samsung launched the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones. And while the South Korean giant is now gearing up to launch the Galaxy Note 9 in the second half of this year, a new report claims that Samsung has already finalized the design for next year’s Galaxy S10 (or Galaxy X).
There had been talks about the Samsung going for a radical design change for the next flagship, which would also mark 10-year anniversary of the Galaxy S-series smartphone. Some rumors hint at foldable smartphone too, but the latest report may be disappointing.
According to a report on TheBell, which is a Korean site, the Galaxy S10 could feature a 5.8-inch Infinity Display, whereas the Galaxy S10+ could flaunt a 6.3-inch display. A patent application filed by Samsung has also surfaced, courtesy of Mobielkopen.
The schematics show off the edge-to-edge display, thankfully without the notch. Samsung also seems to have done away with the Bixby button, and may instead rely on invoking the assistant by voice. The schematics doesn’t show the physical fingerprint scanner, and the report claims that Samsung will finally integrate in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Along with under-glass sensor, the Galaxy S10 could also sport 3D face scanning feature to take on Face ID on the iPhone X. It is reportedly being developed by Israeli 3D camera solution vendor Mantis Vision and camera maker Woodgate. Now to the bad part, as you can see in the above image, there are two things that are likely to disappoint Galaxy S10 buyers.
Firstly, the Galaxy S10 could sport a single rear camera, whereas the dual-camera setup will likely be reserved for the Galaxy S10+ model, just like the Galaxy S9 duo. The schematics don’t show cutouts for the front camera and earpiece – and it remains to be seen where Samsung will integrate them. There are chances that both of them might be integrated under the display. Xiaomi tried it with sound wave-based earpiece under the display, but it wasn’t good enough.
It remains to be seen if Samsung has come up with a solution to tackle the problem. Secondly, Samsung finally seem to have gained ‘courage’ to do away with the 3.5mm audio jack, and use USB Type-C port and Bluetooth for audio routing. As of now, we don’t know if there is any truth in this report and the leaked schematics. We would advise taking this information with a grain of salt, until we come across more concrete evidence.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Rumoured to Feature a 6.4-inch Display and 4000mAh Battery
Samsung’s next flagship smartphone will be the Galaxy Note 9 because the company has already trademarked the name last month. Today, a couple of tweets from different tipsters revealed two key features of the Note 9. Firstly, the Galaxy Note 9 will come with a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ display, a larger one when compared to the 6.3-inch screen found on the Galaxy Note 8. Another rumoured feature is the phone will have a larger battery- either a 3850mAh unit or a 4000mAh unit. The screen size was tipped by a Chinese user touting the source as Weibo, while the battery size is tipped by reliable Samsung device tipster Ice Universe on Twitter.
The bigger screen size on the Note 9 will not be a worry for many users, and it will give a slight edge for Samsung to differentiate between the Galaxy S9+ and the Note 9. The S9+ features a 6.2-inch display and it makes complete sense for Samsung to bump up the screen size. The increase in battery size will be a welcome change for many users as Samsung flagship devices are often criticised for the poor battery performance, especially the Exynos variants.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is coming sooner than we expected, maybe in early June due to the poor sales of the Galaxy S9 duo. As a result, the Note 9 has already made its appearance on Geekbench, hinting at the possible early launch date. There are several rumours on the web stating the Galaxy Note 9 will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner, while one report says it won’t feature the same.
Samsung might not include the in-display biometric sensor on the Note 9 because the technology is still in early stages, even though a couple of devices from Vivo and Huawei had featured it already. Other features include the same Snapdragon 845 SoC or the Exynos 9810 SoC in some markets such as India. An improved S Pen is on the cards along with the same variable aperture cameras on the back. Of course, the phone will boot Android Oreo out of the box.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo Rumoured to Arrive With AMOLED Display and Android Oreo
Samsung is yet to release a proper mid-range Galaxy J device this year, and the first one is expected to be the Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo with Samsung J720F model number. The device is expected to launch in the Indian market before heading over to other markets, and it seems like we’re drawing close to the launch event as the complete specifications of the smartphone have surfaced online.
As per a new report, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo is expected to be the first Galaxy J mid-range device with dual rear cameras to launch in India, and it’s expected to come with an AMOLED display. Samsung moved away from its tradition of releasing mid-range phones with AMOLED displays in favour of IPS LCD and TFT display devices, but the J7 Duo will come with an AMOLED display.
Folks at GSMArena received an image from the sales training session of the Galaxy J7 Duo, which means that the information is an accurate one. Speaking about the specifications, the Galaxy J7 Duo comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with HD resolution, not an 18:9 display though. The phone will be powered by the 1.6GHz Exynos 7870 octa-core chipset, which will work in tandem with Mali-T830 GPU.
RAM and internal storage in the smartphone were not revealed in this leak, but the phone might arrive in a couple of variants with 3GB of RAM and 4GB of RAM. Cameras in the J7 Duo include a 13MP primary sensor at the back which will be paired with a 5MP secondary sensor. The primary sensor will come with f/1.9 aperture. A 8MP selfie camera will be present on the front.
Another highlight of this leak is the phone will come with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with Samsung Experience 9.0 UI on top. The smartphone is also expected to feature a removable back panel so that users can remove the 3000mAh battery and install a new one for enhanced usage. At the moment, we don’t have any release date from Samsung nor from leaks. But with the final specifications arriving, it might be a matter of time for Samsung to release this new mid-range device. It will be interesting to how Samsung prices this upcoming handset.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Confirmed to Receive Android Oreo Update Later This Month
Ever since the news spread that phones have started shipping with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, Samsung users have been waiting impatiently for their Oreo updates. Samsung put the wait to end on Thursday by announcing that it was finally rolling out Android Oreo updates for some of its recently launched phones.
The first of the many phones will be the Samsung flagship The Galaxy Note 8. The entire series of the phones which will see the Oreo update in coming days includes Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A3 (2017). The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 launched last year and has been the premium phone of Samsung.
Therefore, it is reasonable that Samsung release update for the Note 8 first. The Oreo update for the Note 8 is scheduled to come earlier than the rest, which would be by the end of this month. The 30th of March 2018 is the marked date by Samsung for pushing the update which will allow the Note 8 users to update their devices from Nougat to Oreo. The next devices to receive the update will be the Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge.
Since there has been some significant time that these devices have been running on Nougat out of the box. The Korean smartphone manufacturer will not delay the update for Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge by too much, it will closely follow the update of Note 8 by almost two weeks. Samsung has scheduled the update on 13th April for these two devices. Next in line to receive the updates will be Galaxy A7, A5 and A3 (2017), all of them were launched in 2017, last year and shipped with Nougat out of the box.
The Oreo updates for these devices will follow the S7 update will stretch late into May 2018. The exact date given by Samsung is May 25, 2018. Sources tell us that these dates have been notified for Turkey, but it is expectable that Indian users will see Oreo updates on a timeline very near to the given schedule presented above. Samsung, however, is yet to make a statement which would outline dates specifically for Indian users.
Samsung rolled out updates for their latest models Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ earlier last month, but soon paused the launch of updates for the other phones after getting complaints of random reboots on Samsung devices who updated to Oreo on their phones. Samsung clearly wanted to resolve the issue for their users, and it seems they have done the job are all set to launch the updates for further devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Android Oreo Update to Roll Out on March 30, Galaxy S7, Galaxy A-Series to Follow
Samsung has revealed the rollout timeline of Android 8.0 Oreo update for some of its smartphones - in the same week that the Android P Developer Preview 1 was released. The South Korean smartphone manufacturer posted a list of handsets as well as a timeline on when they will receive the Android Oreo update. As of now, Samsung has rolled out the update only on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones.
Also, Samsung's latest flagships - Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ - come with Android 8.0 out-of-the-box. However, as per the latest report, handsets like the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A3 (2017) will get the latest Android OS soon. According to Samsung's 'Are we up to date' website in Turkey, the Galaxy Note 8 will be the first of the handsets which will get the Android 8.0 Oreo.
March 30 has been marked as the date for pushing the update, after which Galaxy Note 8 users will be able to update their handsets from Android Nougat to Android Oreo. The next smartphones in line to receive the update will be Samsung's Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
The update for these smartphones will start on April 13. Further, the Samsung Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A3, which were launched in 2017, will receive the Android Oreo update. These smartphones had shipped with Android Nougat out-of-the-box. The Oreo rollout date provided by Samsung for the smartphones is May 25, 2018. Notably, Samsung has not provided any official details regarding the rollout of the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Samsung smartphone users in India.
To recall, after halting the Android 8.0 Oreo rollout for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ over a reboot glitch, Samsung had restarted it. The company had revealed that the Android 8.0 update for the Galaxy S8 lineup had arrived with an 'unexpected reboots' issue for some users.

Here’s everything that Samsung changed with Android 8.0 Oreo on the Galaxy S8
The Galaxy S8 Oreo update is in full swing, with more devices around the world being treated to Android 8.0 as we speak. Samsung fixed whatever went wrong with the original Oreo release for the handset, and things are moving along. If you haven’t received an update prompt, keep checking, especially if you’ve purchased a carrier-branded Galaxy S8 version.
In the meantime, Samsung released the full changelog for the update, which reveals all the new features that are built into the Samsung Experience 9.0 upgrade that sits on top of Google’s Oreo. Samsung says in its release notes that specific Samsung apps, including Pay, Internet, Notes, and Email, should be updated individually before updating the operating system, and advises users to back up personal data before performing the update.
One of the notable changes included in the Galaxy S8’s Oreo build is improved biometrics: To improve your security, features that use biometrics (face, fingerprints, and irises) are only available when you use a secure screen lock type (pattern, PIN, or password). When you switch to a non-secure screen lock type (Swipe or None), biometric authentication is suspended for unlocking and for verification in apps like Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass. If you’re using biometrics now without a secure screen lock type, you’ll be able to continue after the upgrade, but changing to a secure screen lock type is recommended.
