Dhinchak Pooja :

Aainda Arko Pravo Mukherjee Songs
Composer-singer-lyricist Arko Pravo Mukherjee who has given the Indian music industry some memorable songs in 'Tere Sang Yaara', 'Abhi Abhi', 'Saathi Rey' and 'Dariya' amongst others is all set to release his first single, 'Aainda - An ode to idealistic love.’

The single will be released under Sony Music Pop, the pop division of Sony Music.

And it’s a trans-national track, says Mukherjee. He elaborates: " I have recorded it both in Mumbai and Los Angeles .The track explains the actual concept of idealistic love. I had written it a couple of years ago, but now, seems like the right time to release it."
Arko has united with Sony Music Pop, the pop division under global music giant Sony Music, for the song, read a statement.
The single is a collaborative effort between Grammy Award-nominated music producer Brandon Friesen and Bollywood music producer Aditya Dev. "The song has a world music vibe to it. I am also working with Brandon on my English single."

Unlike the usual Bollywood tracks, 'Aainda' will be a concept-based and not situation-based song. "The song will explore the concept of the union of two people. It will also bring some sense of mystery and surrealism. Something that I like bringing to most of my songs," says Mukherjee.

The singer-composer who will be releasing this single with Sony Music last worked with the music label on 'Kapoor & Sons', that's also when the association took place.

"Rohan Jha (Sony Music India, Lead Pop) got talking to me during this time. During one of these meetings, I told him that I had a few songs that I was looking at releasing as singles. They too wanted to release a single and that's how everything fell into place."

Mukherjee clarifies that he is not signed on to the label; they are only bringing out Aainda.
"I'm eagerly anticipating this particular release as it's my first non film single with the label, and also because it has been recorded and shot with much care and passion by a team of highly acclaimed creative people," said Arko, who has created music for films like "Baar Baar Dekho", 'Kapoor and Sons', 'Rustom', 'Hate Story 2', 'Jazbaa' and 'Jism 2'.
Composed and sung by Arko, the song is about a couple at the brink of separation trying to find possibilities to find love in each other again.
He is happy with how the entire creative process for the song evolved. "I am so happy to have worked with Sony. They did not interfere. This single is my expression and I really want it to work," says the 34-year-old.

The music video features Bollywood faces. However, there is no clarity on who it is. The Sony team is currently keeping the names under wraps.

Furthermore, the composer is also looking forward to releasing more singles, but that will only depend on the listener feedback.

"I want to see how this song does in comparison to my film songs. And, if all goes well. I will release another one," ends he.

Rohan Jha, Lead Pop, Sony Music India, said: "When we first heard 'AAINDA' we were sure we wanted to work with him on this. It has a very commercial hook and the lyrics are instantly relatable.

Jab Harry Met Sejal has been winning hearts by adopting an unconventional and innovative strategy of mini trails. The songs Radha and Beech Beech Mein have turned out to be the current favourites of many.

Shah Rukh Khan is surely winning hearts with every new song and still from his upcoming Imtiaz Ali directorial, co-starring Anushka Sharma. He unveiled the latest song “Safar” and it oozes out a soulful and magical feeling. Sung by Arijit Singh and composed by Pritam, the song gives a new identity to an aimless wanderer. The lyrics written by Irshad Kamil talks about a traveler’s friendship with journey and roads that know his mind more than anyone else. The song also reflects upon urban loneliness. This is the most beautiful song to come out of any Bollywood album recently.

Now, the makers are all set to release the third song Safar from the film. We learn that the song is penned by Irshad Kamil, voiced by Arijit Singh, and composed by Pritam.
Shah Rukh Khan is a rare combination of a witty, talented, cute, cool, entertainer, who has raised the bar for people in the film industry. Stars may come and stars may go, but very few stars have the potential to live up to their stardom, till their 50s, and longer.
Shah Rukh Khan who essays the role of Harinder Singh Nehra aka Harry in Jab Harry Met Sejal, took to Twitter to announce the song, replying to Deepika Padukone seems to be in love with 'Beech Beech Mein' just like us.
Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter handle to introduce the next song from his upcoming movie Jab Harry Met Sejal. As everyone in the country is enjoying the monsoon showers, and taking pleasure in the weather, Shah Rukh Khan shared a glimpse of a song from his upcoming film, which apparently is a rain song, but he looks extremely sad in the still. Why so sad, SRK? Well, only he has an answer to this. Along with the picture, Shah Rukh also wrote a few lines of lyrics of the song which read, “Idhar ka hi hoon main, udhar ka raha, safar ka hi hoon main safar ka raha (I belong to here, and I belong to there, I belong to a journey, Journey I belong) Rain song.” Going by these words, we can guess the song is going to be a sad number from the film.
Jab Harry Met Sejal revolves around the story of a Punjabi guide Harry and a Gujarati girl Sejal. The two are on a journey to hunt the engagement ring of Sejal, which would, in turn, lead to their love story.

The song Safar is expected to explore the journey of the two, which would unfold the various escapades the duo faces. After the upbeat track Radha and party number Beech Beech Mein, Safar is expected to be a soulful track.
What’s even better is the fact that the song has been sung by Arijit Singh and the music has been composed by Pritam Chakraborty. If we look at Shah Rukh’s career, rain songs from his films has always been a hit. be it “Chak Dum Dum” from Dil Toh Pagal Hai or “Janam Janam” from Dilwale, one has to agree that all these tracks have been chartbusters, and we can expect the new song from Imtiaz Ali directorial to be no different.
Jab Harry Met Sejal makers released “Radha” song from the film last week, and it has become a favourite already. Shah Rukh had launched it in the presence of hundreds of Sejals in Ahmedabad. Now, we wonder where he will be headed for the new song.
Jab Harry Met Sejal team is leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. The team has changed the marketing grammar with their innovative strategies. Be it introducing mini trails, launching Radha amidst Sejals in Ahmedabad or club hopping to launch Beech Beech Mein, the team has astonished the audience with its moves.

Hawa Hawa song from movie Mubarakan released: 6 other old songs ‘remixed’ and ruined by Bollywood this year
The time of remix of old songs is back again, and every major Bollywood movie has made it a point to come up with a revised version of a classic part song. Whether it is Humma Humma in OK Jaanu or the most recent Hawa Hawa song from the movie Mubarakan, touching the classic party numbers and adding rap to it is bound to be a cringy experience, especially for those who have loved in the originals. While the idea of the remix has been in the industry for quite some time, the pop culture in 90’s let artists come up with remix versions of the old songs, the addition of raps that have the classic cheesy lines has been degrading the quality of music and songs in Bollywood movies.
Hawa Hawa’s revised version was previewed in the trailer as well, and the full version of this song that was released a while ago proved once again how classic songs are being transformed with the addition of cheap lyrics as well as the random addition of peppy music and cheesy raps. While the classic Hawa Hawa Aye Hawa, sung by Hassan Jahangir gave us some fresh music with lighthearted lyrics, Arjun Kapoor uses the classic and modifies it to propose to a clearly disinterested Ileana D’Cruz with lyrics like “Boyfriend Bana Le, Kisi aur ko pata le.” While this song has already made us regret the making of this movie, the lyrics continue to give way for the mandatory rap that came out of nowhere and murdered the music of the classic song that was used.

Here is the video of Hawa Hawa song from Mubarakan

While we have now become accustomed to the idea of Bollywood men chasing women who show no interest and luring them into falling in love with them, the increased use of beautiful songs as cheesy numbers just for the sake of promotion and publicity has become a trend that has gone out of hand and needs to be stopped. This movie is clearly not the first to chose an old song and brutally smother it to death and even as we discuss this, we are bound to come across many more songs like this in the future. However, here is a list of all the “Bollywood remake” of classic songs that ruined them with rap, just in this year!

1. Humma Humma – Ok Jaanu

Very rarely have we seen the sight of a music director choosing to recreate his old super hit song to give it a modern twist. But music maestro AR Rahman chose to do exactly that for his composition in the 2017 release, OK Jaanu. The talented music director tried to bring back the craze of Humma Humma and added the same old lyrical rap by Badhshah that revolved around the topic that majority of Indian rappers enjoy writing on sex and intimacy. While many may have hoped that AR Rahman’s magic would save the song, the Humma Humma song was ruined all for a movie which clearly did not deserve it.

2. Haseeno Ka Deewana – Kaabil

Kaabil managed to bring back the beautiful composition of Sara Zamana Haseeno Ka Deewana back to life, and the makers made two important decisions, to add random EDM between the song and of course add some rap that teased the woman on whom the item number was picturised. Apart from the music video which was nowhere near the mark, the music and the “remix” that was added made the song more torturous than enjoyable. And so sadly Rajesh Roshan and his team were not ‘Kaabil’ of making a notable remix.

3. Tamma Tamma Again – Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya

Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya brought back the cute couple of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan and tried to revive the 90’s with their song Tamma Tamma Again. Even as the queen of dancing, Madhuri Dixit joined their promotional strategy and helped them learn the original steps the makers could not refrain from using unnecessary rap that often becomes a turn off for the rap songs. When compared with the other disasters that are already a part of the list, Tamma Tamma managed to impress us just a little but not enough to keep it off the list of dreadful decisions made by music directors.

4. Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast – Machine

An Abbas–Mustan movie was released earlier this year and was comparatively unnoticed. But the only aroundthe movie was when they chose the classic Udit Narayan song, Cheez Badi and tried to recreate it with additional lyrics and ruthlessly murdered the beautiful number. Machine movie gave us a cringy music video for the movie. The remix of Cheez Badi was far from mast, and the additional lyrics and robotic noises that were added failed to make a connection, much like the movie.

5. Oh Ho Ho Ho – Hindi Medium

Sukhbir’s Oh Ho Ho Ho has many names like Ishq, Tare Gin Gin and others but one emotion and a compelling desire to Bhangra on the beats. While the new remixe version of the song continued to have the energy of the song, many fans were left disappointed with the addition of the ‘trendy’ rap by Ikka. Can Bollywood ever get over its obsession with rap music on every single movie and every dance number, please?

6. Raabta – Raabta

Seldom is a movie named after a song, but leave it to Bollywood to name a movie Raabta (a word that became increasingly famous after the song from Saif Ali Khan’s 2012 release, Agent Vinod). Pritam tried his level best to bring back the obsession with the Raabta song and came up with a toned down slower version of the superhit song for this 2017 release. However, while the original Raabta song managed to leave people yearning for more, the remix can put anyone to sleep. The only positive about this new remix of Raabta has to be Deepika Padukone who looked ravishing in the video, but other than that; we would much prefer going back to the breathtaking original song, thank you very much.
It is important to understand that the criticism that all these movies and the ‘remix’ version of the songs are getting is not plain hate but frustration with Bollywood’s efforts to make rap music popular and a part of every single movie. While we all enjoy a rap song now and then, adding this genre to every single song and party number not only makes the playlist monotonous but also boring. Moreover, it would be easier to digest these ‘rap songs’ if only the lyricist decided to write something refreshing and different from the clichéd topics of girls, drug, cars and parties.

Tubelight Movie Review: Salman Khan Is The Worst Thing About Tubelight
Tubelight Movie Review: Salman Khan and Matin Rey Tangu in a film still

Cast: Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Zhu Zhu, Matin Rey Tangu, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Om Puri
Director: Kabir Khan
Rating: 1 star (out of 5)

First things first, it's great to see Om Puri one last time. Puri was one of the very finest actors our country ever produced, and Kabir Khan's Tubelight marks his last filmed performance. Sure, he looks like he's walked straight off the logo for Kentucky Fried Chicken, and is given trite platitudes to mouth instead of actual dialogue, but it's still wonderful to watch him chew on watermelon and tell us how faith can move mountains. In fact, say I, we should all be grateful to Khan and Tubelight for illustrating to us just how true it is that dear Mr Puri is, indeed, now in a better place.

Tubelight Movie Review: Salman Khan Is The Worst Thing About Tubelight
Tubelight Movie Review: A still from the film

In Hindi movies, every Khan has his day. Kabir's came two years ago with the emotionally impactful and highly effective Bajrangi Bhaijaanwhich I enjoyed thoroughly. This time, it's Sohail Khan's turn, and he gets to outshine his celebrated brother simply by keeping a straight face. Tubelight is a Salman Khan film that kept me longing to have Sohail back on screen, and those are words I'd never thought I'd type.

Tubelight Movie Review: Sohail and Salman Khan in a film still
Tubelight Movie Review: Sohail and Salman Khan in a film still

As with war, any escape is valid, you see. Tubelight is a remake of a 2015 American release called Little Boy, a film which sounds obnoxiously manipulative to begin with, and - going by synopses - the Hindi rendition seems slavishly faithful. Well, as faithful as it can be considering it stars a man 40 years too old to play the lead.

Little Boy is about an eight year old child coming to grips with the futility of war, indulged by townsfolk to believe in his own magic. A child who lives on mollycoddling and affirmation? It's not hard to see why Kabir would cast this particular actor, though it is intensely problematic that the Salman Khan public relations initiative is plumbing such shameless depths. The message being sent out with this film is: poor little superstar who doesn't know better.

There might be something to that. Salman hasn't had to actually act for a while now, though he has been making more of an effort in Kabir's films. With this one, alas, he goes "full retard" as Robert Downey Jr dismissively scoffed in Tropic Thunder. While Khan could hardly be expected to pull off a Forrest Gump, what we get here is even worse than Koi Mil GayaTubelight is the story of a developmentally disabled man whose superpower is making constipated sounds.

Set in September 1962, the film is about Laxman Singh Bisht (Salman) whose brother Bharat (Sohail) has gone across the border to fight in the Indo-Chinese war. Here, period authenticity and detailing basically equals to everyone wearing sweater-vests. The film is set in a small, fictional hamlet, where Laxman is loved and laughed at in equal measure, until one day a travelling magician (who also appears to moonlight as a motivational speaker) uses him in a trick and shows him he can move a bottle with his mind.

This leads to Salman trying to move mountains and stop wars by sticking his arms out and grunting earnestly, over and over. These are supposed to be emotionally hardcore scenes depicting naive wholesomeness and a good heart. They come across unbearably farcical, crippled by what is possibly the worst performance of Salman's chequered career. Tubelight means well, an anti-war movie that illustrates the pointlessness of battle and the importance of not actively hating those you are at war with, and while its simplistic message is timely and admirable, the film is rendered unwatchable because of the leading man.

Kabir has always been good with war sequences, but while the ones in this film are mounted on an impressive scale and efficiently shot, the choreography is baffling. A row of soldiers stands in position, and when enemies open fire, they all fall to the ground, shot in the right shoulder at the exact same time.

Everyone besides Salman is good here, which is again a new thing to write about a star whose screen-presence and spontaneous charisma has carried him through many a horrid film. We get fine performances from bright Chinese actress Zhu Zhu and, most memorably, moon-faced child Matin Rey Tangu, who should have swiftly replaced the lead. These two play Indians of Chinese origin, facing hostility and prejudice during the Sino-Indian conflict, and it must be emphasised how unforgivable it is to cast a Chinese actress alongside a kid from Arunachal Pradesh here, as if to say it's all the same.

Alongside the Khan brothers who look to have been inflated with tyre-pumps, there is a strong cast, the norm at a time Indian casting directors have come good. We have the infallible Brijendra Kala smiling, possibly at the thought of his cheque, while Yashpal Sharma hams uncharacteristically hard, chewing on and repeating each line a couple of times as if to make it more palatable. Meanwhile, supporters of arthouse cinema may find it therapeutic to watch a strong thespian like Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub wallop the megastar a few times.

Zeeshan, in fact, is particularly good as a knock-kneed meanie, but there's only that much he is allowed to do, as this film - and everyone in it - constantly makes way. It's the Salman Khan show, and here he is bobbing his head and widening his eyes, with all the expressiveness of a hurriedly drawn thumb-puppet.

Faith may indeed move mountains. It's a taller ask to make the mountain act.

Super Singh movie review: Diljit Dosanjh superhero is powered by jokes
Super Singh movie cast: Diljit Dosanjh, Sonam Bajwa, Pawan Malhotra

Super Singh movie director: Anurag Singh
Super Singh rating: 3 stars

Ever superhero has his special powers — one can fly, another is indestructible while the third one is all-powerful. Now take everything you have ever watched in DC and Marvel, give it a quick mixer-grinder treatment and pronto, we have Diljit Dosanjh in and as Super Singh. He can fly, he can kick balls (literally and figuratively) and he is out to save the world. But when you meet him in a dark theatre, all spandex and machismo, the superpower that actually keeps you seated for 170 minutes is his comic timings. Diljit’s hero sure knows how to tell a joke and he will keep you laughing through this film. Now that is quite a strategy, keep your CGI and special effects Hollywood, we will laugh you out of the competition.
Because let us face it, the special effects in this superhero caper are a joke. There is a moment when Super Singh emerges holding a luxury liner from the water and you laugh so much it hurts. The good part is that just like the audience, neither he nor the film take himself or his superpowers seriously in most of the film. He will thwart a burglary attempt with the same countenance as he will help an old woman with her shopping bags with 3 kg potato, two kg onions and 3 garlic pods. After his first attempt at being a superhero, he actually gets a bunch of bananas and $51 as shagun!
Super Singh Diljit Dosanjh
Diljit’s charm also keeps your attention away from the film’s wafer-thin plot and a villain — we won’t tell you who it is — who hams so much, he is his own meme. Every time you realise just how huge the craters are in the screenplay, Diljit tells a joke and all’s right with the film. That is till Diljit and his Super Singh realise that with great power comes great responsibility. From Canada where he is an amiable misfit wooing a white Cheerleader with jokes and bhangra, he lands in drug-addled Punjab where leaders — political or religious — are out to fleece and fool people. The film goes south from there.
The cliched climax which seems to have been lifted from a bad 80s actioner does not help the film either. By this time, you are tired of how the film has been thrusting moral lessons down your throat too. The message about religion feel forced and start getting preachy, especially towards the end. But the director, Anurag Singh, sure knows his target audience. Whether it is Punjab or NRI audience, they are going to love the first Punjabi superhero, comes as he does with Diljit Dosanjh’s innate charm and man-boy persona.
But next time Super Singh goes on his quests to save the world, and he will, given the promise of sequel is very much there in Super Singh, we strongly advise him to carry a hand sanitiser. Or find a planet with toilet on it.
Super Singh: Your friendly, neighbourhood (and affordable) superhero
Actor Diljit Dosanjh and film-maker Anurag Singh of ‘Super Singh’ talk about what it takes to make a low-budget Punjabi superhero movie
Super Singh: Your friendly, neighbourhood (and affordable) superhero
Super Singh isn’t the first Sikh superhero in the movies. A Flying Jatt, which had Tiger Shroff donning a suit made by an overbearing Punjabi mom (played by, who else but Amrita Singh) with her Usha sewing machine, gets that title. Released last year, A Flying Jatt showed, for the first time, an Indian superhero who didn’t take himself too seriously.
Is Super Singh then the first regional superhero movie? Tamil director S. Shankar’s Anniyan, although more vigilante than superhero, could qualify as a contender for this title.
But if Super Singh, which released on 16 June, can indisputably lay claim to something, it’s to being the cheapest superhero movie made in India. It had a budget of around Rs10 crore—the kind of money generally reserved for just the marketing of an average Hindi film (A Flying Jatt reportedly cost Rs45 crore). And yet, it took about two years to find a producer for Super Singh, says Diljit Dosanjh, who has starred in this film as well as Hindi films such as Udta Punjab and Phillauri.
We meet at the Juhu office of Balaji Motion Pictures, where a man wearing a Superman T-shirt serves tea and snacks.
“Three years back,” continues Dosanjh, “this wouldn’t have been possible. And even today, it wouldn’t have been possible had Balaji not agreed to produce it. None of the Punjabi producers said yes.”
Why? Because the lowest-budget superhero movie is also, quite possibly, the most expensive Punjabi film ever made. “Punjabi cinema doesn’t have that kind of budget, neither do we have that many screens or a wide audience,” says Dosanjh. The 33-year-old actor and the director, Anurag Singh, with whom he has worked thrice before, have delivered some of Punjabi cinema’s biggest blockbusters—Jatt & Juliet (2012) and Jatt & Juliet 2 (2013), made with a budget of Rs3 crore and Rs6 crore, respectively. They are considered to be among the recent Punjabi movies that have rejuvenated the local film industry.
Actor Diljit Dosanjh and film-maker Anurag Singh of ‘Super Singh’
“We are a small, nascent industry. I think it has got to do with the fact that the state has gone through troubled times politically,” Singh says later, over the phone. “Another reason is that the kind of films that were being made were the B-grade, action-movie types which sent the audience, especially the family audience, away. As a result, a lot of theatres started to shut down.”
It may be a stretch but one could argue that this may have had something to do with the fact that the mainstream Hindi film narrative has been skewed heavily towards Punjabi representation. And that it fulfilled the cinematic cravings of its local audience.
In the last few years, however, things have been looking up for the Punjabi film industry. The prospect of an emerging new film market would have attracted Balaji to produce Super Singh despite the fact that last year’s production, A Flying Jatt, wasn’t a commercial success. “There has been a late multiplex boom in the state. Places beyond big cities, such as Moga, Kotkapura, have multiplexes of their own,” says Singh.
It is not surprising then that the budget shaped the kind of superhero film Super Singh would become. “Had we had a bigger budget, we would’ve made another kind of superhero film. It would’ve probably been darker,” he says. Instead, Dosanjh and Singh decided to make a light-hearted movie.
It all started with a joke. “Some fans had superimposed my face on to a superhero costume. Somehow, the idea of a Sikh superhero seemed improbable and funny. I found it interesting,” says Dosanjh. For instance, you don’t feel the baffling absence of a super-villain in the promo of Super Singh because the gags, set to a bouncy, pop soundtrack, seem fun, original and localized. One scene has Dosanjh, all suited up, scratching his back with a stick before taking the plunge from the roof of a skyscraper in Montreal—it makes both cultural and business sense for modern Punjabi films to take their hero to Canada. In another scene, an aunt suggests he should think of branding himself better, like Batman, or Doraemon.
Actor Diljit Dosanjh and film-maker Anurag Singh of ‘Super Singh’
When asked about the superhero movies he likes, Dosanjh picks Deadpool (adding Hancock, as an afterthought), whose casual self-awareness—if not its morbid adult humour—seems to have rubbed off on to the family-friendly Super Singh. “It’s not that I don’t like the others, like The Dark Knight, but Deadpool made me realize that this is how it could be done as well. Why so serious?” says Dosanjh, who has seen quite a transformation himself—from a folk artist to the region’s biggest movie star.
However, the real test of a superhero movie is the action scenes involving special effects. In the scenes where Dosanjh is seen chasing a rocket or saving a ship from sinking, the special effects look solid. The movie, says Dosanjh, has used minimal VFX. “We couldn’t let our imagination run wild and had to strike a balance between what we wanted and what was possible. We worked with a small studio, Flying Flames, who were involved with us right from the start and gave their 200% to it,” says Singh. Dosanjh adds, “One thing we were careful about from the beginning is that we didn’t want the special effects to be laughed at.”
I bring up Baahubali 2: The Conclusion , the recent box-office behemoth that is supposed to have changed the game for regional cinema in India. Has the phenomenon of S.S. Rajamouli’s Telugu blockbuster, and last year’s Marathi film Sairat, opened up possibilities for a regional film beyond its linguistic border?
With about 700 screens worldwide, says Singh, Super Singh is billed as one of the widest Punjabi movie releases. Dosanjh and Singh are careful about comparisons—“Baahubali 2’s earnings are much more than the entire valuation of the Punjabi film industry,” says Singh—but agree that a regional film doesn’t have a limited life, as it used to.
“Today, our audience is watching everything on Netflix and the Internet,” says Dosanjh. “Even when we are making a Punjabi movie, we are always aware that we don’t know who is watching us.”

Toilet Ek Prem Katha, India vs South Africa match, Akshay Kumar, Toilet Ek Prem Katha trailer launch, Toilet Ek Prem Katha trailer launch details, Toilet Ek Prem Katha trailer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign at its core and has a satirical flavour within a love story.
Letting go of an official launch as lead star Akshay Kumar is holidaying abroad, the makers of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha will unveil the film’s trailer later in the day on a television sports channel, airing India v South Africa Champions Trophy match. The trailer will be shown during the mid-innings show on Star Sports India, so, fans can expect to catch the sneak peek into the film around 6 pm. It is also expected that at the same time, Akshay and the film’s team will launch the trailer on all social media accounts. Weeks ago, the National Award-winning actor showed the trailer to a section of media and if the word-of-mouth is to be believed, the trailer is the right balance of entertainment and the message, like all recent films of Akshay.
Also starring Bhumi Pednekar and directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha has Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign at its core and has a satirical flavour within a love story. The film highlights the importance of sanitation conditions in India, with emphasis on the reduction of open defecation in public areas, especially in the rural areas of the country. Akshay and Bhumi are playing a newly-married couple.
Besides the critics, the trailer has also managed to impress censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani, who went to the extent of saying that the movie should be made tax free. “Watched trailer of @akshaykumar’s #ToiletEkPremKatha. Based on true incidents, it promotes #SwachhBharat. Should be made #TaxFree. #SuperHit!” Nihalani tweeted a few days ago. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha will hit theatres on August 11. It joins the increasing list of patriotism-heavy films by Akshay. The actor seems to be living his golden time in Bollywood, with continuous box-office success and critical acclaim. The expectations from Toilet: Ek Prem Katha are hence higher.

The movie was earlier supposed to clash at the box office with superstar Shah Rukh Khan-starrer love story Jab Harry Met Sejal, but with the latter bringing forward the release date to August 4, both the films will now get a solo release and hence, an open window.
