Reliance JioTV app gets exclusive rights to stream Winter Olympic Games Pyeong Chang 2018 in India
Jio TV, the streaming app owned by the domestic telecom giant Reliance Jio, has been awarded the digital rights to stream Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 by the International Olympic Committee for India. The app will be providing "comprehensive coverage of the Games in India, thus enabling millions to access live and catch-up content on their mobile devices, on the move."
The Olympic Winter Games will begin from February 9 to 25 and will take place at PyeongChang County, South Korea. Reliance says it's JioTV app will have multiple channels to stream 24x7 live content. In addition to live streaming, the app will also include highlight packages. Users can also see the repeat programs in the app. Reliance Jio is trying its best to push the limits in order to overshadow its competition such as Airtel, Idea and Vodafone.
By acquiring the content streaming rights for its JioTV app, the telecom firm is also making strides in the content streaming market, which for now is dominated by Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hotstar and few others. For now, Amazon Prime seems to be leading the charts. "Using the value of the Prime bundle, Amazon Prime Video subscription users have already managed to surpass Netflix subscribers in Germany, India and Japan," said last month's IHM Markit report. However, on the global level, Prime is yet to surpass Netflix.
Not only Reliance Jio but other big global tech firms are also doing their best to promote their own platform by streaming content or giving more information on the upcoming Winter Olympics. Some have even introduced a dedicated themed smartphone. Google recently revealed how people can use its services to stay updated with what is happening at the Winter Olympics. Samsung has launched the 'PyeongChang 2018' variant of its Galaxy Note 8 handset.

Here we are, in mid-July, with our sanity melting, our norms crumbling, and the Larsen Ice Shelf breaking up and heading straight toward us. But cheer up: winter, in “Game of Thrones” form, is here! I don’t know what you have been doing in the off-season, but I’ve been anxiously favoriting trenchant political tweets and escaping to a realm beyond the Seven Kingdoms called “Grantchester,” where a lusty, crime-solving vicar takes my troubles away. Meanwhile, “G.o.T.,” like the Holy Spirit or democracy’s decline, has been all around us.

At a wedding I attended recently, text celebrating the marriage of Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo was read alongside a poem by W. H. Auden. (It was a delightful ceremony, in contrast to Dany and Drogo’s actual wedding, which was more focussed on swordplay-to-the-death and plein-air copulation.) At Madison Square Garden in March, Ramin Djawadi conducted the “Game of Thrones” Live Concert Experience, where green fire blasted around the stage, we listened to “The Rains of Castamere” and watched scenes of the Red Wedding and people yelled “Shame!” in a spirit of euphoria. It was fun—like a disturbing, very elaborate “previously on” montage. And this week, White Walkers roamed around London—adding fun, for once in their lives, not subtracting it.
Starting with the most basic of predictions: Sam Tarly will discover the key to defeating the White Walkers. Game of Thrones have built up Sam finally entering the Oldtown library — no doubt there will be some major payoff, and there’s little doubt over it being the key to ending the long Winter.
Now, on Sunday night, we’re back to the real thing. Bring on the imploding Lannisters, the avenging Starks, the scheming Littlefinger, the randy Tormund Giantsbane, and the no-nonsense tween Lyanna Mormont, who’d rule that realm, and likely the United States, as well as anybody. As last season began, we were in a desperate and vulnerable place: Jon Snow was dead, but Jon Snow couldn’t be dead, and so on. Now that’s sorted out and we have other issues to deal with. (For one thing, Ed Sheeran is going to show up at some point—I’d love to see him fight Brienne of Tarth, but I suppose that’s too much to ask.)

As Season 7—the second-to-last of two final, shortened seasons—begins, the young Starks, uncharacteristically, are in decent shape. They took Winterfell back from the Boltons, and Ramsey, a villain we’d been sick of for what felt like decades, got eaten by dogs. Arya, no longer blind (ugh!), began avenging the many wrongs visited on her family, by feeding Walder Frey a toe-filled pie. (For a Stark kid, that’s a moral victory.) Now they’ve got to sort out the Lannister situation, and then some. Cersei, post-fireball, sits on the Iron Throne. At the end of last season, the Dany contingent—Tyrion, Varys, the Unsullied, Dothraki soldiers, the whole ragtag lot—dramatically set sail for Westeros, having found a way to get a horse-riding army onto boats, and the Greyjoys set sail, too. Fight! Fight! Fight! (Sorry, it’s been a provocative off-season.) And, as ever, the White Walkers, perhaps made more interesting by their day in London, continue to groan and ice around.

The Season 7 trailer begins with Littlefinger dispensing wisdom in a voice-over as Sansa, increasingly formidable, walks through snow, in a luscious fur cloak and no hat. “Don’t fight in the north,” Littlefinger says, breathily. “Or the south. Fight every battle. Everywhere. Always. In your mind.” That sounds like something you’d hear from Steve Bannon, but in the Seven Kingdoms it’s just good sense. In another voice-over, Jon Snow, the new King of the North, talks of banding together to fight a common enemy—he’s a realist, out for survival, sane and reasonable. Such people don’t always get listened to, here or in Westeros, but I’m cautiously optimistic. His role is clearly of mystical importance. His true parentage, one of the central mysteries of the show, was finally confirmed last season after fervent speculation. He’s not the bastard son of Ned Stark, as Ned had claimed; he’s the son of Ned’s sister, Lyanna Stark, and Rhaegar Targaryen, Dany’s brother. Does this mean Jon Snow can near-singlehandedly defeat an army of ice sleazebags and save the world? Don’t ask me. But I’m rooting for him.
We’re can almost guarantee these two will finally meet up. The question is, will they become more than just friends? As viewers know, Daenerys is Jon's aunt (remember R+L=J?), but they don’t know that. Put two attractive, powerful people in a room together and who knows what will happen.
Lannisterwise, the narrative stasis in King’s Landing has ended, and, relatedly, so has the oily-rags-and-pablum tyranny of the High Sparrow. Cersei , having long tried to exert regal influence via her children, is now just doing it herself, for chrissakes. Jaime seems to find her behavior since he left town disturbing, and I get it—she burned everybody up, and unwittingly inspired their young son King Tommen to commit suicide, and pensively clutched so many wine goblets that she may need an intervention. The Season 7 trailer shows her clutching yet more goblets. (Good for her, I say—she has been through it!) Beyond that, she’s about to be besieged by dragons, which are now the size of 747s, the director Matt Shakman has said, and Drogon’s fire breath has a thirty-foot diameter. Cersei would do well to give pay raises to the members of the King’s Landing Fire Department.

I’d love for Littlefinger to somehow become less creepy, because I’m warily fond of him, but that’s not going to happen: creepy is Littlefinger’s bread and butter. He’ll keep trying to manipulate and woo Sansa, and Sansa will keep trying to counter-manipulate him—she likes his army, and so do we. I’m into it, as long as it doesn’t gross me out. For the other Stark siblings, happier days are here again. The trailer shows us Arya on horseback, with further vengeance in her heart, and Bran in a nice new wheelchair, sussing things out across space and time. Perhaps he’ll somehow impart wisdom to Jon about the Children of the Forest, who created the White Walkers? Look, I barely know what that means—we’re getting beyond the Wall of my abilities to understand.

In a similar realm, to me, is Euron Greyjoy, Yara and Theon’s uncle, a latecomer no-goodnik who last season I was a bit too plot-exhausted to care about. But I like the new blood in the Greyjoy story line, between Yara’s increasing power, Theon’s slow return to sanity, boats galore, the murder of their tiresome father, and the welcome advent of lesbianism. I was pleased to learn that in Season 7, as E.W. tells us, Euron has been given a sexy, yet-to-be-revealed makeover, as well as a better, more fun personality. He’s a “hooligan,” not a monster—he is, as the show’s co-executive producer Bryan Cogman put it, “the kind of guy who will kill you *and *steal your girlfriend.” (See? Fun!) The trailer indicates that he also has a good-looking fleet of ships. All of this should definitely help me remember who he is. He, too, wants the Iron Throne, and perhaps he and his enhanced memorability will come into contact with Cersei, her power, and her theoretical status of single and ready to mingle.
The bookies predict Petyr Baelish will be the first to die. Chances are, they’re wrong. There will no doubt be a few more deaths before the manipulator dies, and he will likely die. With Arya on the war path, chances are she will be the one to finish him. Before Littlefinger goes, though, expect him to use Sansa to take the North, likely turning her against Jon Snow.
This is all well and good—your dragons, your ramparts, your warging and fleets—but I’m eager to spend more time with Samwell Tarly in that gorgeous library at the Citadel, which looks awfully relaxing. I’m hoping that he figures something important out there, in the peace and quiet, and I’m hoping for lingering shots of leatherbound wisdom reaching up to the wise, peaceful sky. Maybe he’ll figure out a way to get Jon Snow out of this White Walker mess. Sam isn’t in the preview trailer, but Season 7 photographs show him hunched over a book, quill in hand, reading and writing his little heart out. People have speculated that Sam is the narrator of all this hullabaloo, the person telling us the story of the Game of Thrones, and they’ve been further encouraged by the chandelier at the Citadel Library that resembles the armillary sphere in the opening credits. Put a white beard, glasses, and a little hat on him, and it all makes a lot of sense.

Doctor Who: New actor to be revealed after WimbledonDoctor Who is a British science-fiction television programme produced by the BBC since 1963. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called "The Doctor", an extraterrestrial being from the planet Gallifrey. He explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. Its exterior appears as a blue British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. Accompanied by a number of companions, the Doctor combats a variety of foes, while working to save civilisations and help people in need.

The identity of Doctor Who's 13th Time Lord will be revealed following the Wimbledon men's singles tennis final on Sunday, the BBC has announced.
A trailer featuring the number 13 in different locations was aired during the tennis on BBC One on Friday.
It finished with the caption: "Meet the 13th Doctor after the Wimbledon men's final, Sunday 16th July."
The actor will succeed Peter Capaldi who took the role in 2013 and will leave in the 2017 Christmas special.
Capaldi made the announcement during an interview with BBC Radio 2 presenter Jo Whiley in January.
The Glasgow-born star said: "I feel it's time to move on. I feel sad, I love Doctor Who, it is a fantastic programme to work on."
Peter Capaldi’s tenure as the Doctor in long-running BBC series Doctor Who is coming to an end, with his successor on the cusp of being announced.
The channel confirmed it was to reveal the identity of the new Time Lord after the Wimbledon men’s single final tomorrow afternoon (16 July), sending fans into overdrive guessing who that person could be.
Ever since Capaldi announced in January he was to step down from the role, many names have been bandied around with reports suggesting producers were looking to cast the first ever female incarnation of the classic character.
Below we take a look at the latest odds predicting who will be inducted into the BBC history books (courtesy of Ladbrokes).
Confirms 13th Time Lord will be revealed after Wimbledon final
The actor set to replace Peter Capaldi in the lead role of Doctor Who will be announced by the BBC tomorrow (16 July).
Viewers will learn the new actor's identity after the Wimbledon men's singles final that will see Roger Federer take on Marin Cilic from 2pm.
Many names have been flying around regarding who the next Time Lord could be following Capaldi's announcement he was to step down following this year's Christman special.
The frontrunners include Kris Marshall, whose odds were slashed after his departure from BBC series Death in Paradise, Broadchurch actress Jodie Whittaker Oscar-winning star Tilda Swinton.
Michaela Coel (Chewing Gum) and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) have also been touted as potentially becoming the first female Doctor despite the latter's agency stating otherwise.

Capaldi became the 12th Doctor after Matt Smith stepped down in 2013. His final episode, airing on Christmas Day, will also mark the swansong of lead writer Steven Moffat who will be by Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall.

Ability to regenerate
The locations in the trailer included 10 Downing Street, Beachy Head cliffs and the Statue of Liberty.
The popular sci-fi series features a Time Lord, known only as The Doctor, who travels through time and space in the Tardis, which resembles a 1960s police telephone box.

The main character has the ability to regenerate, a quirk that has allowed a number of actors to have played the role over the years.

Capaldi, who replaced Matt Smith as The Doctor, was previously best known for his role as foul-mouthed spin-doctor Malcolm Tucker in the BBC series The Thick of It.

Tanuja promises and then he asks her to get her wound checked. Tanuja calms him saying she is fine. Rishi and Manpreet talk about Tanuja as Manpreet tries to give him Tanuja’s number. Rishi says he does not want to speak to Tanuja again, as Manpreet throws the phone in Rishi’s direction. Rishi cannot catch it and it slips into the water nearby. Now Rishi panics as he tries to dry the phone. Manpreet says he did not want to speak to Tanuja then why is he worrying about it now.

Rishi takes the phone from Manpreet and decides to get it repaired. Tanuja gets Abhishek out of Natasha’s room and puts her to sleep. Later as she tries to get Abhishek to have food she finds him sulking over her throwing him out of Natasha’s room. She then convinces him to have food as he tells her that if she is expecting anything more than friendship from him then it would not be possible as he cannot love one girl only in this lifetime. He also says that Tanuja is a girl who can just love one man and she would change that person’s life forever and also that she is very pretty. Tanuja tells him that they both hate love and that is why they are friends and that is all they need. Rishi is sure that it was Tanuja who saved him but is confused why she never says that she loves him. Rishi asks Netra to get the hair dryer. She gets it and asks him why he needs it. He shows her the phone and she tells him that she would put it in the raw rice and then it would be fine. Next day Rano(Vibha Chibber) returns from her run and is wounded. Netra does her first aid as Rishi signals Netra to get his phone. Netra refuses to leave a hurt Rano. Manpreet is confused to see them signalling and Rishi holding Netra’s hand.

Rano goes for a jog in the morning and gets hurt on her foot. As Netra sits beside her putting medicine on her foot, Rishi comes and asks him for Manpreet’s phone which fell in water. Netra took the phone to keep it in a bowl of rice to absorb the moisture.

Precap: Netra sees Tanuja and Abhishek’s photo and is pleased that Tanuja is happy away from Rishi. Abhishek sees her in and she drops the photo when she sees Abhishek.

Grotbags actress Carol Lee Scott dies aged 74
Actress Carol Lee Scott, who was best known as Grotbags the witch, has died at the age of 74.

She appeared in children's programmes in the 1980s and early 1990s, including ITV's Rod Hull's Emu's World.

Her family confirmed the news on social media, with her niece Gina Mear writing on Facebook on Wednesday that the actress had "lost her brave fight against cancer".

"To many of you she was Grotbags - a legend!" she said.

"To me she was just aunty Carol. I shall miss her hugely, rest in peace Carol."

The actress was warmly remembered by comic and performer Rufus Hound, who described her as "an icon for folk of my generation".

Hull's son Toby added his voice to the tributes, tweeting: "Sending our thoughts to the family of Carol Lee Scott, what great memories we have of her. Xx"

'She was a real trooper'

David Lee, from Pantoni Pantomimes, told the BBC: "I was saddened to receive news of Carol's passing. She appeared in two pantomimes for me; Aladdin in Canterbury in 1984 and Aston Under Lyne with the late Ken Goodwin.

"She was a real trooper and in the time honoured tradition of showbiz, 'the show must go on!'. During the Canterbury panto run we had agreed she could take a cabaret appearance on Xmas Day near London.

"That day she badly injured her ankle but she was back on stage on Boxing Day and completed the run pushed around in a wheelchair by her sidekick in the show who played a Dragon.

"She was also a tremendous cabaret artist and great rock and roll performer. Thanks for some fabulous memories. RIP Carol."

'You made my early years awesome'

Her character Grotbags was a dastardly pantomime witch, with a bright green wig and face to match. She famously hated "brats" and did her best to spoil the fun of children, using her "Bazazzer" - a pointy stick with a gold hand on the end of it.

Fans of the show flooded Twitter with comments, with Gary Dewar writing: "Daleks. Zelda. Skeletor. Nothing - NOTHING - terrified me quite like Grotbags. Bravo!"

Noob added: "Rest in peace Grotbags. You made my early years awesome. I was so scared of you!"
Lee Scott, who was born in Somerset, began her career with cabaret performances touring clubs in the north of England, as well as stints as a London pub singer and as a Pontins Blue Coat.

She worked for the holiday park for 19 years before she began collaborating with Hull on a series of children's 1980s TV shows. They created the character Grotbags during a summer season in Cleethorpes and stayed friends until his death in 1999.

It featured Lee Scott alongside characters including Colin the Bat, Doris the Dodo and Grumble the cauldron.

The show, set in the Gloomy Fortress, also starred puppeteer Richard Coombs.

Theo Campbell
Theo Campbell

He and male model Jamie have only been in the Love Island villa for 24 hours.
But hunky sprinter Theo was quick to ruffle feathers on Wednesday night, as he immediately clashed with Essex boy Jonny upon arrival.

The athlete, from Bath, made quite the entrance as he embarked on a steamy french kiss with Tyla during a game of beer pong - sending her love interest Jonny into a rage.

The boys made their entrance into the villa after enjoying a string of dates with several of the girls that afternoon.

However after openly admitting to Jamie he clicked with Tyla the most, things only got more tense for Theo when he was forced to give the brunette beauty a smooch, during his first game on the show.
With the pair locking lips in front of the islanders, Jonny, who has made his affections for Tyla clear, was evidently uncomfortable at the sight - calling to the strapping newbie: 'No tongues please!'

Jonny later vented his frustrations in the Beach Hut, explaining: 'You know what, it's a game at the end of the day and I'm not a jealous person.'

However failing to cover up his annoyance, he continued: 'But I just don't like him. He's a funny lad. I feel like he's going to stir the pot a bit.'

Clearly riled up by the incident, the Essex boy continued to vent his fury at Theo to Chris and Kem by the fire pit later on.

He said: 'I get a good vibe off Jamie but Theo... I just don't like the geezer, he's muggy.

'I feel like he's coming in all guns blazing. I don't like him putting it on Tyla. He's not her type anyway, but it still annoys me.'

However, his anger had not gone unnoticed by Theo, who also took to the Beach Hut to simply laugh at his behaviour.

He said of the islanders: 'Everyone was cool, although I thought Jonny seemed a bit threatened,' before adding with a chuckle: 'I could feel him looking at me!'

Viewers will no doubt be intrigued to see what happens next, after Theo went on to admit he received a 'good vibe' off Tyla, and would be willing to try and flirt with her despite Jonny's territorial nature.

It seems Jonny was not the only one bothered by Theo and Jamie's arrival however - with Amber and Olivia making a giddy return from their own meetings with the boys.

Telling Marcel and Gabby that the boys were 'very fit', Amber went on to add: 'They are very good looking boys and will ruffle some feathers.'

Yet, when asked by the couple if either would be susceptible to getting their heads turned from partners Kem and Chris, the girls hesitated, before replying: 'Err, no!' with a guilty giggle.

The two new boys had shaken things up on the episode, by inviting girls of their choice on a number of dates - before their arrival in the villa.

Amber was first invited on a date with Theo - to the annoyance of Kem, who proceeded to vent his frustration around the villa and even throw pillows in the bedroom.

He raged in the Beach Hut:  'He's annoying me yeah, Theo. 100 per cent her type on paper? She is probably going to get some tall, mixed race model, abs poking out of his t-shirt yeah.

'Probably looks unbelievable, has a very good haircut, probably got a good game as well. It just doesn't help me out. Why have you got to throw Theo in?'

He then found out he was a 400m sprinter, causing him to boldly back himself and challenge the newbie to a race in the garden.

However it seems Kem did not need to worry too much, as Theo affirmed he would not interrupt their romance if he felt it genuine.

Meanwhile Tyla was invited on a date with model Jamie - and put on an incredibly flirty display over their dinner, even asking to see his six pack at the table.

Upon return to the villa, she let slip to her fellow islanders that he was a male model, sparking anxiety in her partner Jonny - which he tried to play down.

Olivia then went on a date with Theo, where she proved loyal to Chris and admitted she was willing to stand by their romance.

She said: 'We're from different worlds. I'm not willing to move to the countryside, but I will give the relationship 100%'.

However Theo did not hold back on the flirtations, telling her that Chris was definitely the one punching - and that he was a 'lucky boy' to have her.

Meanwhile Amber then went on a date with Jamie, too - to further fury from Kem, who screeched back in the villa: 'Just means I've got a fit bird, but that's against the point.

With brunettes proving popular, Tyla also got invited on a second date - leaving Jonny even more disgruntled, throwing his cigarette in the bushes and declaring: 'I'm f***ing done with this place!'
Tyla again puts on a flirty display with Theo, joking about being the 'sidechick' in a relationship and even asking whether he had been a cheat - to which he controversially claimed: 'It's not cheating if you have feelings for the other person'.

Meanwhile Camilla and Jamie bonded over their love of reading, and even joked they would have to swap their favourites in the villa.

The Scottish beauty later admitted she found him very 'attractive' after he arrived in the villa - implying she would be interested in a romance.

Jamie Jewitt

Jamie Jewitt

Who is Jamie Jewitt on Love Island? What is his background?

Jamie is a 27-year-old model and actor from Essex.

And his modelling has a distinctly raunchy theme – The Sun online revealed pictures showing him romping with a naked woman in one particularly steamy shoot.

When asked how to describe himself he said: “I’m happy go lucky and up for a good time. I’m at a different stage in my life now.

“I like that Marcel is very much the thinker of the group and the wise man and I tend to think I’m rational like that.”

He says he likes to “have fun” when it comes to girls: “I’m not really much of a dater, I’ve spent a long time single, just having fun.

“I lived in New York for 10 years and was single for most of it. I split up with my ex about 6 months ago, we were together a year and a half.

“I’ve just took some time to go out, do my bit and learn a bit about myself before settling down.”

The Sun’s Bizarre column revealed that one ex-flame, Big Brother star Georgina Leigh, has claimed Jamie is a “love rat” in a warning to the girls on the island.

In an exclusive interview she said: “I know Jamie inside out and he can charm the back legs off a donkey.

“He is so lovely girls throw themselves at him, but he cheats on all his girlfriends. He’s a love rat and will admit it himself. He loves women and can’t help himself.”

Who does Jamie want to couple up with on Love Island?

When asked who he would like to get it on with in the villa he had one name, “Camilla”.

Speaking about the type of girl he likes, he said: “I like girls that are laid back, chilled out, comfortable with themselves.

“I like girls to be confident with themselves, intellectual, share the same interests.

“I don’t like materialistic girls because that’s the opposite to me.”

What is Love Island and when is it on?

Love Island sends a host of singletons looking for a good time over to a luxurious villa for a summer of passion.

Known for its hot and heavy sex scenes, the contestants are encouraged to pair up and convince the public they have found love.

In a twist at the end of the series, the winning couple are asked to either split the cash, or take the entire £50,000 pot home for themselves.

Love Island announced the arrival of two new boys Jamie Jewitt and Theo Campbell at the end of Tuesday night's episode.

And viewers of the ITV2 show went wild for the two fresh arrivals, especially model Jamie - who everyone was saying was their type "on paper".

One fan wrote: "Finally a fittie on love island, iya Jamie x."

Another added: "Jamie is a bit of me... what a sort!"

And a third added: "OMG Theo and Jamie are the hottest ever!"

But it's now been revealed Jamie had a huge weight loss before becoming a model for the likes of Armani, Prada and Tom Ford.

According to the MailOnline , Jamie weighed 15st before his 15th birthday, and was so self-conscious with his looks, he barely posed for any photographs and has hardly any snaps from his teen years.

After two years of intense and solid training - which included following a strict vegan diet for a year - he shed the excess weight and lost three stone.

After he shed the weight, his family urged him to go to a casting following years of taunts about the way he looked.

The first casting was unsuccessful and he focused on his education. But fearing that he'd feel defeated, his parents encouraged him to go to a second casting.

He was successful and moved out to New York alone to pursue his career in modelling - and he was then on E4's Taking New York back in 2015.

Now he's on Love Island, and hoping to get it on with Camilla Thurlow .
