LatthMaar - The makers of ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ have released a teaser of the next song titled ‘Latth Maar’. From the visuals you’ll get it that this song featuring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar is a Holi track and seeing it we wonder, if that would make us go bonkers. Almost five months ago pictures from the sets had gone viral. In fact Akshay and Bhumi were spotted shooting for this upcoming song in Hoshangabad, Bhopal. Now this seems to be a fun-filled number on which anybody can groove. The first two songs from the movie titled Hans Math Pagli and Bakheda were soothing tracks but this looks totally different.

After the trailer and two songs ‘Hans Mat Pagli’ and ‘Bakheda’, another track called #LatthMaar from ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha‘ will be out soon. Lead actor Akshay Kumar shared a new still from the movie on his Twitter page announcing the upcoming song. He wrote, “Latth-on ke bhoot, baaton se nahi maante. #LatthMaar song
While posting about the upcoming song Akshay Kumar captioned it saying, “Latth-on ke bhoot, baaton se nahi maante. #LatthMaar song coming soon. @ToiletTheFilm @psbhumi”. You can see colors been splashed in the backdrop. This looks to be a typical Holi song and we cannot wait to watch it. Take a look at the post below:
Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ has already grabbed everyone’s attention, courtesy its intriguing plot and also the controversies revolving around it. After the film’s trailer had released there was buzz stating that the this movie is similar to the short film Manini and soon after that there was another allegation on the makers saying that film’s song Hans Math Pagli was lifted from a regional movie. We hope this third song Latth Maar does not fall into any trouble. As the film’s release date is nearing, ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ is just getting into legal troubles.

The story revolves around a village which has no toilets in houses and the villagers go in the farms to relieve themselves. Women, in particular, face a tough time as it gets humiliating for them and dangerous too. So, in this village, a man named Keshav (Akshay Kumar) gets married to an educated and independent girl Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar). After marriage, Jaya realises that the women there engage in a ‘lota’ party where they go with lotas in their hands as there are no toilets in their houses. This leads to lots of differences between Keshav and Jaya and she decides to leave him. It is then that Keshav decides to take the responsibility of building toilets inside houses to create a harmonious and easy life for married couples and everyone else.

Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie Toilet Ek Prem Katha is sure to be in a the headlines as Akshay Kumar will be seen sharing the screen with Bhumi Pednekar for the first time. Today the makers of the movie released a new song teaser with the titular ‘Latth Maar’. With the teaser of the movie, we could see that the song features Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar and are seen enjoying a Holi track. A few months ago, Akshay and Bhumi were spotted shooting for this upcoming song in Hoshangabad but at that time it was not clear that for which movie they are shooting the song. The first two songs from the movie titled Hans Math Pagli and Bakheda were soothing tracks but this looks totally different.

The movie Toilet Ek Prem Katha initially grabbed a lot of attention of the people due to its name that sounds so weird that how come a Toilet can be related to a prem katha but when the theme of the movie was revealed, Akshay Kumar got a lot of appreciations as he did a lot of efforts to promote the movie which is on a very sensitive topic that is of open defecation. The movie also talks about the Prime Ministers Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The movie promotion banners talk a lot about weak sanitation and its impacts.

Now after being on a so much serious note, the makers of the movie have now decided to make something relaxing both for the audience as well as the actors by releasing a new song teaser and Akshay Kumar too took to his Twitter account to announce the song teaser and captioned it,”Latth-on ke bhoot, baaton se nahi maante. #LatthMaar song

Butterfly : Jab Harry Met Sejal In Punjab Ke Kheton Mein
Butterfly Teaser: In Butterfly, Shah Rukh Khan completely sheds the persona of 'Harry' and to become the Punjabi munda Harinder Singh Nehra he actually is

After making us dance to some classic disco tunes with “Beech Beech Mein”, Jab Harry Met Sejal makers have released the teaser of the upcoming song, “Butterfly”, which is a Punjabi number perfect for celebrating love. Looking at the background of the song, it seems that Bosco Martis, the choreographer, has given a Baisakhi touch to it and hence we see Anushka in a Punjabi kudi avatar and Shah Rukh, for the first time ever in his 25 years of career, in a Sardar look. In the teaser, we see Anushka flattered by Shah Rukh’s looks and we are sure, a lot of the female fans of SRK are going to be in the same situation.
Ask about Anushka urf Gujarati chhori Sejal. In the teaser, she appears as desi as she can be. Oversized jhumka, colourful salwar-kameez and some swag are all what was needed to make Anushka blend with the flavour of Punjab. Sejal and Harry dance their heart out in the khets of Punjab along with plenty of flirting-shirting.
In the film, Khan in the role of a tourist guide from Punjab while Sharma plays a Gujarati girl. What follows is an entertaining affair. The romantic drama was widely shot in Prague, Amsterdam, Lisbon and Budapest and it marks the third time that Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma have been paired together after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. Here's the teaser:
Now, the song seems to have been shot in Punjab. So, how did Harry (character of Shah Rukh) and Sejal (played by Anushka) come to Punjab from Paris? Well, that is something we would have to figure out at the theatres when the film will release. Meanwhile, we are excited to know more about the song “Butterfly”. And what we cannot miss about the teaser is Anushka and Shah Rukh’s relationship, which comes across as a healthy flirting. But isn’t Anushka engaged as it is her ring that she is searching for in the film? Well, Shah Rukh’s film is definitely leaving us with a lot of questions and puzzles but we are sure on August 4, we will be happy with the answers when the film releases.
Butterfly could be the next shaadi song if you are a true blue Punjabi at heart. This will also be the fourth song from Jab Harry Met Sejal after Beech Beech Mein, Safar and Radha. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh had also offered a glimpse of another track probably titled The Rain Song, more details about which are not known.
Jab Harry Met Sejal is Anushka Sharma and Shah Rukh Khan's third collaboration and is scheduled for August 4.

Aainda Arko Pravo Mukherjee Songs
Composer-singer-lyricist Arko Pravo Mukherjee who has given the Indian music industry some memorable songs in 'Tere Sang Yaara', 'Abhi Abhi', 'Saathi Rey' and 'Dariya' amongst others is all set to release his first single, 'Aainda - An ode to idealistic love.’

The single will be released under Sony Music Pop, the pop division of Sony Music.

And it’s a trans-national track, says Mukherjee. He elaborates: " I have recorded it both in Mumbai and Los Angeles .The track explains the actual concept of idealistic love. I had written it a couple of years ago, but now, seems like the right time to release it."
Arko has united with Sony Music Pop, the pop division under global music giant Sony Music, for the song, read a statement.
The single is a collaborative effort between Grammy Award-nominated music producer Brandon Friesen and Bollywood music producer Aditya Dev. "The song has a world music vibe to it. I am also working with Brandon on my English single."

Unlike the usual Bollywood tracks, 'Aainda' will be a concept-based and not situation-based song. "The song will explore the concept of the union of two people. It will also bring some sense of mystery and surrealism. Something that I like bringing to most of my songs," says Mukherjee.

The singer-composer who will be releasing this single with Sony Music last worked with the music label on 'Kapoor & Sons', that's also when the association took place.

"Rohan Jha (Sony Music India, Lead Pop) got talking to me during this time. During one of these meetings, I told him that I had a few songs that I was looking at releasing as singles. They too wanted to release a single and that's how everything fell into place."

Mukherjee clarifies that he is not signed on to the label; they are only bringing out Aainda.
"I'm eagerly anticipating this particular release as it's my first non film single with the label, and also because it has been recorded and shot with much care and passion by a team of highly acclaimed creative people," said Arko, who has created music for films like "Baar Baar Dekho", 'Kapoor and Sons', 'Rustom', 'Hate Story 2', 'Jazbaa' and 'Jism 2'.
Composed and sung by Arko, the song is about a couple at the brink of separation trying to find possibilities to find love in each other again.
He is happy with how the entire creative process for the song evolved. "I am so happy to have worked with Sony. They did not interfere. This single is my expression and I really want it to work," says the 34-year-old.

The music video features Bollywood faces. However, there is no clarity on who it is. The Sony team is currently keeping the names under wraps.

Furthermore, the composer is also looking forward to releasing more singles, but that will only depend on the listener feedback.

"I want to see how this song does in comparison to my film songs. And, if all goes well. I will release another one," ends he.

Rohan Jha, Lead Pop, Sony Music India, said: "When we first heard 'AAINDA' we were sure we wanted to work with him on this. It has a very commercial hook and the lyrics are instantly relatable.

'Aainda' Full songs Video And Mp3 Songs is scheduled to release sometime

Jab Harry Met Sejal has been winning hearts by adopting an unconventional and innovative strategy of mini trails. The songs Radha and Beech Beech Mein have turned out to be the current favourites of many.

Shah Rukh Khan is surely winning hearts with every new song and still from his upcoming Imtiaz Ali directorial, co-starring Anushka Sharma. He unveiled the latest song “Safar” and it oozes out a soulful and magical feeling. Sung by Arijit Singh and composed by Pritam, the song gives a new identity to an aimless wanderer. The lyrics written by Irshad Kamil talks about a traveler’s friendship with journey and roads that know his mind more than anyone else. The song also reflects upon urban loneliness. This is the most beautiful song to come out of any Bollywood album recently.

Now, the makers are all set to release the third song Safar from the film. We learn that the song is penned by Irshad Kamil, voiced by Arijit Singh, and composed by Pritam.
Shah Rukh Khan is a rare combination of a witty, talented, cute, cool, entertainer, who has raised the bar for people in the film industry. Stars may come and stars may go, but very few stars have the potential to live up to their stardom, till their 50s, and longer.
Shah Rukh Khan who essays the role of Harinder Singh Nehra aka Harry in Jab Harry Met Sejal, took to Twitter to announce the song, replying to Deepika Padukone seems to be in love with 'Beech Beech Mein' just like us.
Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter handle to introduce the next song from his upcoming movie Jab Harry Met Sejal. As everyone in the country is enjoying the monsoon showers, and taking pleasure in the weather, Shah Rukh Khan shared a glimpse of a song from his upcoming film, which apparently is a rain song, but he looks extremely sad in the still. Why so sad, SRK? Well, only he has an answer to this. Along with the picture, Shah Rukh also wrote a few lines of lyrics of the song which read, “Idhar ka hi hoon main, udhar ka raha, safar ka hi hoon main safar ka raha (I belong to here, and I belong to there, I belong to a journey, Journey I belong) Rain song.” Going by these words, we can guess the song is going to be a sad number from the film.
Jab Harry Met Sejal revolves around the story of a Punjabi guide Harry and a Gujarati girl Sejal. The two are on a journey to hunt the engagement ring of Sejal, which would, in turn, lead to their love story.

The song Safar is expected to explore the journey of the two, which would unfold the various escapades the duo faces. After the upbeat track Radha and party number Beech Beech Mein, Safar is expected to be a soulful track.
What’s even better is the fact that the song has been sung by Arijit Singh and the music has been composed by Pritam Chakraborty. If we look at Shah Rukh’s career, rain songs from his films has always been a hit. be it “Chak Dum Dum” from Dil Toh Pagal Hai or “Janam Janam” from Dilwale, one has to agree that all these tracks have been chartbusters, and we can expect the new song from Imtiaz Ali directorial to be no different.
Jab Harry Met Sejal makers released “Radha” song from the film last week, and it has become a favourite already. Shah Rukh had launched it in the presence of hundreds of Sejals in Ahmedabad. Now, we wonder where he will be headed for the new song.
Jab Harry Met Sejal team is leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. The team has changed the marketing grammar with their innovative strategies. Be it introducing mini trails, launching Radha amidst Sejals in Ahmedabad or club hopping to launch Beech Beech Mein, the team has astonished the audience with its moves.

Watch the first trailer for The Rock’s ‘Jumanji’ remake
If you loved Robin Williams’ 1995 Jumanji, and you’ve been looking forward to a worthy remake, then The Rock’s version might just be the thing you were waiting for. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle puts a different spin on the old Jumanji plot, and we now have the first trailer for it.

Dwayne Johnson himself shared the trailer on Facebook, which gives us a general idea of what’s going on in the new film.
We’ve got a group of teenagers who hardly interact during their day-to-day high school life who all end up in detention. While cleaning up a basement, they discover an old console which still works. Each one picks up a character in the game, and they’re transported into it.
In the original Jumanji, Robin Williams’ character gets sucked into the game, only to return to the real world years later.
This time around there’s a Jumani video game to replace the board game, which seems only fitting, but the concept is somewhat similar.
The four teenagers have to survive a dangerous universe, but at least their avatars have special powers. The Rock, as you might have guessed, is one of the four avatars in the game. The other three are played by Keven Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan.
In other words, we’re probably in for lots of action and lots of laughs, judging by this first trailer.
Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle launches on December 22nd.

Hawa Hawa song from movie Mubarakan released: 6 other old songs ‘remixed’ and ruined by Bollywood this year
The time of remix of old songs is back again, and every major Bollywood movie has made it a point to come up with a revised version of a classic part song. Whether it is Humma Humma in OK Jaanu or the most recent Hawa Hawa song from the movie Mubarakan, touching the classic party numbers and adding rap to it is bound to be a cringy experience, especially for those who have loved in the originals. While the idea of the remix has been in the industry for quite some time, the pop culture in 90’s let artists come up with remix versions of the old songs, the addition of raps that have the classic cheesy lines has been degrading the quality of music and songs in Bollywood movies.
Hawa Hawa’s revised version was previewed in the trailer as well, and the full version of this song that was released a while ago proved once again how classic songs are being transformed with the addition of cheap lyrics as well as the random addition of peppy music and cheesy raps. While the classic Hawa Hawa Aye Hawa, sung by Hassan Jahangir gave us some fresh music with lighthearted lyrics, Arjun Kapoor uses the classic and modifies it to propose to a clearly disinterested Ileana D’Cruz with lyrics like “Boyfriend Bana Le, Kisi aur ko pata le.” While this song has already made us regret the making of this movie, the lyrics continue to give way for the mandatory rap that came out of nowhere and murdered the music of the classic song that was used.

Here is the video of Hawa Hawa song from Mubarakan

While we have now become accustomed to the idea of Bollywood men chasing women who show no interest and luring them into falling in love with them, the increased use of beautiful songs as cheesy numbers just for the sake of promotion and publicity has become a trend that has gone out of hand and needs to be stopped. This movie is clearly not the first to chose an old song and brutally smother it to death and even as we discuss this, we are bound to come across many more songs like this in the future. However, here is a list of all the “Bollywood remake” of classic songs that ruined them with rap, just in this year!

1. Humma Humma – Ok Jaanu

Very rarely have we seen the sight of a music director choosing to recreate his old super hit song to give it a modern twist. But music maestro AR Rahman chose to do exactly that for his composition in the 2017 release, OK Jaanu. The talented music director tried to bring back the craze of Humma Humma and added the same old lyrical rap by Badhshah that revolved around the topic that majority of Indian rappers enjoy writing on sex and intimacy. While many may have hoped that AR Rahman’s magic would save the song, the Humma Humma song was ruined all for a movie which clearly did not deserve it.

2. Haseeno Ka Deewana – Kaabil

Kaabil managed to bring back the beautiful composition of Sara Zamana Haseeno Ka Deewana back to life, and the makers made two important decisions, to add random EDM between the song and of course add some rap that teased the woman on whom the item number was picturised. Apart from the music video which was nowhere near the mark, the music and the “remix” that was added made the song more torturous than enjoyable. And so sadly Rajesh Roshan and his team were not ‘Kaabil’ of making a notable remix.

3. Tamma Tamma Again – Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya

Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya brought back the cute couple of Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan and tried to revive the 90’s with their song Tamma Tamma Again. Even as the queen of dancing, Madhuri Dixit joined their promotional strategy and helped them learn the original steps the makers could not refrain from using unnecessary rap that often becomes a turn off for the rap songs. When compared with the other disasters that are already a part of the list, Tamma Tamma managed to impress us just a little but not enough to keep it off the list of dreadful decisions made by music directors.

4. Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast – Machine

An Abbas–Mustan movie was released earlier this year and was comparatively unnoticed. But the only aroundthe movie was when they chose the classic Udit Narayan song, Cheez Badi and tried to recreate it with additional lyrics and ruthlessly murdered the beautiful number. Machine movie gave us a cringy music video for the movie. The remix of Cheez Badi was far from mast, and the additional lyrics and robotic noises that were added failed to make a connection, much like the movie.

5. Oh Ho Ho Ho – Hindi Medium

Sukhbir’s Oh Ho Ho Ho has many names like Ishq, Tare Gin Gin and others but one emotion and a compelling desire to Bhangra on the beats. While the new remixe version of the song continued to have the energy of the song, many fans were left disappointed with the addition of the ‘trendy’ rap by Ikka. Can Bollywood ever get over its obsession with rap music on every single movie and every dance number, please?

6. Raabta – Raabta

Seldom is a movie named after a song, but leave it to Bollywood to name a movie Raabta (a word that became increasingly famous after the song from Saif Ali Khan’s 2012 release, Agent Vinod). Pritam tried his level best to bring back the obsession with the Raabta song and came up with a toned down slower version of the superhit song for this 2017 release. However, while the original Raabta song managed to leave people yearning for more, the remix can put anyone to sleep. The only positive about this new remix of Raabta has to be Deepika Padukone who looked ravishing in the video, but other than that; we would much prefer going back to the breathtaking original song, thank you very much.
It is important to understand that the criticism that all these movies and the ‘remix’ version of the songs are getting is not plain hate but frustration with Bollywood’s efforts to make rap music popular and a part of every single movie. While we all enjoy a rap song now and then, adding this genre to every single song and party number not only makes the playlist monotonous but also boring. Moreover, it would be easier to digest these ‘rap songs’ if only the lyricist decided to write something refreshing and different from the clichéd topics of girls, drug, cars and parties.

Lipstick Under My Burkha trailer
After months of wrangle for a certification from the Censor Board, the official trailer of "Lipstick Under My Burkha" takes a dig at CBFC, which earlier refused to certify the movie terming it as "lady-oriented".

"The most controversial film of the year is here," announces the trailer that begins with news coverage on the film's subject of chronicling the secret lives of four women.

The trailer has "abusive words," "sexual scenes," and "audio porn," the reasons cited by Censor Board to reject the movie, but also has generous mentions of men constantly attempting to show the women "their place."

An ageing widow reawakens her sexual fantasy over phone conversations, a housewife and mother of three yearns for employment, a small-town girl's reluctance to enter a wedlock that she doesn't approve of, and a college girl's aspiration to become a pop sensation. The four women and their struggles to live a life they desire but grappled with the morales dictated by patriarchy is the story of "Lipstick Under My Burkha".

Be it a husband turning down wife's desire to work saying "don't try to be the man of the house," or a younger relatives shaming a 55-year old for her "obscene clothes," the film taunts the moral policing on woman. This, however, doesn't deter the women from continuing their passion.

Ratna Pathak Shah, Konkona Sensharma, Aahana Kumra, and Plabita Borthakur play the lead roles in this movie produced by Prakash Jha, and presented by Shobhaa Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.

Cautionary tales are not new to Bong Joon-ho's audiences, who are familiar with his style of weaving hidden messages into the cinematic narrative.
The famed South Korean filmmaker is celebrated for combining action and horror genres with dark bite.
His 2014 post-apocalyptic thriller Snowpiercer inferred much political meaning, displaying the worst of society's imbalances on a high-speed dystopian train.
And there was an environmental message to his 2006 breakout hit The Host, which told the story of a mutated fishy creature that wreaked havoc in the streets of Seoul. The monster was created after radioactive waste was dumped on a US military base.
His latest vision Okja continues that green parable. A bittersweet story about animals and humans, it centres around a lovable super-pig that's touted as an organic, ecologically-sound "revolution in the livestock industry".
"All my films have different stories, some share common themes. But as a storyteller, I want to explore new worlds," Bong said.
With Welsh journalist and screenwriter Jon Ronson (himself a vegetarian), they raise the uncomfortable question: where does one's meat come from?
*Warning: Spoilers below*
The story unfolds with young Mija, a farm girl played by actress An Seo-huyn who lives in the lush mountains of South Korea with her grandfather and their beloved genetically-engineered pig, Okja (an old-fashioned South Korean name without a specific meaning).
The bond between girl and beast is sweet and strong but their peaceful life together sadly doesn't last long.
With the arrival of washed-up celebrity zoologist Dr Johnny Wilcox (Jake Gyllenhaal) and his team, Okja is taken away from her family and thrust back into the hands of her creators, the Mirando meat corporation led by Orwellian nightmare CEO Lucy Mirando (Tilda Swinton) where her unfortunate fate is sealed.
This is no Disney fairytale and the story shifts to Manhattan ("the heart of capitalism," according to Bong) where it takes a darker turn, foraying into the hellish realities of animal laboratories and factory meat farms.
"We create psychological border-lines to avoid discomforts, so we separate our views of animals," Bong said.
"Those we perceive as pets and the ones we place in our shopping carts are the same animals but we choose to separate them."
But to enjoy the meat, you have to ignore the slaughter. Inspiration for his film's graphic scenes came from a personal visit he made to a commercial slaughterhouse. Depicting this was "absolutely necessary".
"I wanted to crumble these borders and make the audience feel uncomfortable. It is witnessing your family being dragged into a slaughterhouse," he said.
"Compared to my experience of visiting a real-life slaughterhouse, the film scenes were much milder and were expressed in a toned-down manner."

A genetically-modified best friend

Okja's physical appearance gives a nod to the controversial genetically modified foods (GMO) debate. She is special: a one-nipple, hippo-pig hybrid with some manatee resemblance (since they look "incredibly innocent and kind-hearted", Bong says).
"I wanted Okja to be cute. Big yet lovely, shy and introverted. But she is a genetically modified organism and this debate is not restricted to Korea, it is prevalent all over the world," Bong said.
The environment may have been a running theme but sinister notions of capitalism, greed and the global economy also played a role.
"They'll eat it if it's cheap," snaps CEO Lucy Mirando in a telling scene after she's confronted with hesitations about public discomfort surrounding her organisation's meat products.
"It is reasonable to fear the potential disasters and dangers that genetically-modified foods may bring," Bong said.
"There are people who say the danger of GM foods is being overly exaggerated but nobody is able to prove their safety either."
But Bong insists Okja isn't intended to be a fiery screen statement against eating animals.
"In my movie, Mija's favorite food is chicken stew. I didn't make this film to oppose meat. Whether one is vegan or not is a matter of individual choice," Bong explained, adding that he wanted audiences to "witness and understand" how meat was being mass produced.
"We coexist with animals and we should take time to consider their perspective. How we treat them today is a very recent phenomenon and came to be only after we included them in mass production," he said.
"This is the state of capitalism today and this is what I wanted to convey."
Okja is available on Netflix from 28 June and is on limited cinema release.

VIP 2 Trailer: Dhanush Stumps Kajol With His Winning One-Liners

The much-awaited VIP 2 trailer is here, finally, shared by both Dhanush and Kajol on Twitter. "Trailer of a franchise that's very close to my heart," Dhanush tweeted while Kajol introduced the trailer, saying: "Being a VIP with Dhanush." The trailer will prove to be a delightful experience for Dhanush fans, yes, but also for those who are excited about Kajol's return to Tamil cinema. Kajol makes an entry as the villainous businesswoman Vasundhara, who means nothing but business. Thus begins her battle of words with Raghuvaran, a stubborn graduate engineer, who she has to work with. In VIP 2, Kajol and Dhanush have been cast directed by Soundarya, daughter of megastar Rajinikanth and Dhanush's sister-in-law.
[ads-post]
The trailer of VIP 2 begins with a hilarious documentation of Raghuvaran's mundane lifestyle. He's an unemployed graduate, who is constantly pulled up by his wife (played by Amala Paul) for his absent mindedness and not being able to secure a permanent job.

However, the wait for the trailer of VIP 2 is worth it because of the one-liners delivered by Raghuvaran to bowl over Vasundhara - which begins second half onwards. Kajol, watch out, for Dhanush, the 'VIP' is here.

Meanwhile, VIP 2has got a new title for the Hindi version - VIP 2 (Lalkar). "It was a strategic move to make sure the film reaches across all states. With Kajol and Dhanush coming together in a movie for the first time, the title has to connect with the masses. Both the actors have a huge fan base in the North, so we thought of leveraging it thereby keeping a more relatable and easy name for the audience," Soundarya told news agency IANS.

VIP 2 is a sequel to Velraj-directed 2014 film Velaiilla PattadhariVIP originals Vivek, Samuthirakani and Saranya Ponvannan also reprise their roles in the second part.

VIP 2 will arrive in theatres on Dhanush's birthday on July 28.

Ekta Kapoor combines the classic Chandrakanta Santati with the magical world of Disney and Harry Potter, to create her own desi fairytale.

First things first; you won't be able to see Devaki Nandan Khatri's classic novel Chandrakanta in the same light ever again after watching Ekta Kapoor's telly version of it. [ads-post] Hint: She has treated Chandrakanta the way Amish Tripathi has treated Ramayana-fictionalising the storyline and adding her own interpretation to it. To be more precise, Ekta has combined the body and soul of two starkly different worlds to create her own magical world. Only Ekta can do the task of combining a classic Chandrakanta Santati, mythology Krishna Charita, with the magical world of Disney and Harry Potter, to create her own desi version, which comes out to be a gripping drama. The only trouble is when you combine too many things, it lacks soul. But sure, there's magic and a lot of it, that will keep the viewers glued to their seats.
Chandrakanta review: This heady cocktail of Harry Potter, Snowhite and Naagin is sure to make you high
How Chandrakanta's magical world unfolds Disney style
The show is touted as 'Jaadui duniya ki sabse badi gaatha' (biggest tale of the magical world). In Ekta's fairytale world there are flying carpets (ala Disney), shape-shifting humans (a la Naagin), and all things magical. [ads-post] It's a world of aiyaars and aiyaaras, who have special powers. It's the story of two warring kingdoms Vijaygarh and Naugarh, the latter ruled by the evil queen Iravati, who's character is modeled on Snowhite's evil queen. We are so sure about the inspiration because there's a desi version of Mirror called Aaina who tells Iravati about her future and also her death.
Chandrakanta
Spoilers ahead: What happened in the opening episode

In the kingdom of Vijaygarh, Rani Ratnaprabha (Shilpa Saklani) is the head of aiyaars, and she protects them with Vishnu's blessing called Tilismi Khanjar, that also gives her magical powers. However, after the birth of her daughter, she decides to surrender it so that she can take care of her daughter like a normal human and not a magician. Till her daughter turns 21, Ratnaprabha needs somebody who can protect Tilismi Khanjar and for that she organizes a contest and invites magicians from all over the world. One who wins the contest would get Tilismi Khanjar. Ratnaprabha's sister Vishakha is the strongest contender, but all of a sudden the evil Iravati (Urvashi Dholakia) enters the scene demanding to be admitted as an entry. According to the rules of the contest, an aiyyar cannot be stopped from taking part in the competition. Iravati beats Vishakha and claims Tilismi Khanjar but Ratnaprabha feels she isn't trustworthy and refuses to hand over the weapon to her. Eventually Iravati kills both the king and the queen, but Ratnaprabha is successful in handing over the Tilismi Khanjar to Lord Vishnu.

The strongest character in the show till now is that of Iravati, the evil queen who'll remind you of Snowhite's evil queen and even has a talking mirror Aaina with her who given her an insight about the future including her death. She is vicious, selfish and manipulative, and can go to any extent for acquiring more power, so much so that she doesn't shy away from using her own son (foster) as her pawn. She makes him strong and at the same time a drug addict so he can never disobey her.
Veer (Vishal Aditya Singh) has a strong muscular physique and can tackle hundreds of opponents at the same time, but is weak from inside. He's a drug addict and can kill anyone on his mother's command. He doesn't have a mind of his own. On the other hand, the innocent and beautiful Chandrakanta (Madhurima Tuli), who has been brought up by her foster parents, has inner strength. She is content with taking care of her maa and baba, but deep within she desires to be the biggest magician.

It's a no-brainer that the sequence of birth of Chandrakanta and sending the newborn away to the another kingdom has been inspired by the tale of Shri Krishna's birth.

VFX and sets
The sets of Chandrakanta have been designed by National Award winning Art Director Chandravadan More, and he has been successful in creating the grandeur and the opulence demanded for the show. As for VFX, we cannot compare it to the international standard, but it definitely looks better than what we have already seen on Indian TV.

Verdict
All in all, Chandrakanta has everything it takes for a show to win the ratings game. It's a cocktail of all the folklores and fairytales you have been grown up reading, packaged wonderfully in a glossy, beautiful package of Disney-style visuals.

Meet the new Chandrakanta

Chandrakanta

“Chandrakanta” is all set to replace Naagin 2 on Colors, Madhurima Tuli, who is playing the title role, talks about the effort that has gone into playing the popular character.
Excerpts:
“Chandrakanta” has been a blockbuster show in the past as well, do you believe you will live up to the expectations?
The show is based on the book “Chandrakanta” which was beautifully written by Devaki Nandan Khatri. The story is the same, it has love, revenge and betrayal but we have definitely taken a different approach. The audience today is enjoying watching shows that showcase mythology and fantasy in a different light, and we are trying to provide them with the same. This time, we are really trying to connect with the youth. The youth is not aware of the story of Chandrakanta and we are trying to change that by bringing the story back in a different, magical way. It is important to connect to the youth as they are shifting towards web series of Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Tell us about the role and your preparation
Chandrakanta is a very strong, independent and fierce character; just like the girls today. Her mother decided to send her away; from Vijaygarh to Suryagarh so that she stays safe. She has been taken care of by fishermen and has grown up to be a fierce warrior. She is a princess, has powers and can perform magic; yet she has her innocence intact. If someone does something wrong, she ensures that justice is served. She is always there for the needy and makes sure no one wrongs them. She is the perfect example of beauty with brains.
I had to deeply connect to the character and be more strong as a person so that I could do justice to the role. Personally, the role of Chandrakanta has helped me become a stronger person. In today's world there is a lot of negativity, yet Chandrakanta remains extremely positive and shines bright. My role demanded me to do horse riding, though it was a challenge it was something I always wanted to do. Sword fighting was definitely challenging, I had sore arms every day!
I have to wear slightly revealing outfits, so it becomes slightly awkward for me at times. But ultimately, it is the outfit of a warrior. I don't consider it to be a glamorous doll look rather I see it as a smart warrior outfit.
This is not the first time that you are working with Ekta Kapoor, how has been your experience been so far?
I have previously worked with Ekta Kapoor in ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ and ‘Parichay’ and my experience has been wonderful. Working with Ekta has a very homely feeling and I feel grateful for the opportunities that she has granted me.
Sadly, I had to quit ‘Kumkum Bhagya’; maybe it was destiny. But Ekta called me back for this show, and I am glad and thankful for this role.
You have worked on the small screen as well as the big screen, how has your journey been?
My journey has been crazy, but in a good way. Luckily, I have been blessed and I kept on getting work. I have worked in Hindi film industry as well as the South, both of them are very different. I personally prefer working in Hindi movies and TV shows and I thoroughly enjoy doing them.
‘Prem Ya Paheli - Chandrakanta’ is a show which is already on air on Life Ok. Do you believe it will be a challenge to overcome this competition?
It is definitely going to be a tough competition as they already have an established fan base, but I am not going to get pressurised.
If I succumb to the pressure, I won't be able to give my 100%. It is entirely on the audience whether they like our efforts or not, but I have definitely remained positive. I believe if you don't expect too much, you become happy no matter what the result is.
