This iPhone model may get iOS 12 update

Every year when Apple launches a new version of its mobile operating system, iOS, an older variant of the iPhone falls off the grid. In the sense, older iPhones doesn’t get the latest update. Last year it was the iPhone 5 which missed the iOS 11 update. However, if a report by PhoneArena is to be believed, it seems like Apple is bucking the trend with iOS 12 as reports indicate that iPhone 5s will get the latest upgrade.
PhoneArena accessed a page on Webkit, the browser engine used by Safari and found a test run that showed iPhone 5s running iOS 12. Since Webkit is an open source system, PhoneArena was able to access the information. Having said that, since it’s still a test run page, we can’t be sure whether the iPhone 5s will run iOS 12 or not. However, there’s still a glimmer of hope for those using the iPhone 5s about getting the latest version of iOS. More concrete details will be revealed during Apple’s annual WWDC conference which is scheduled to begin on June 4. WWDC 2018 will be held in California from June 4-8. As for iOS 12, there have been numerous leaks and rumours about the features.
It is rumoured that the now defunct ‘Slide to Unlock’ feature might make a comeback with iOS 12. It is also expected that FaceTime could finally get group video calling feature with iOS 12. This feature has been a long-pending demand of users, as services such as Skype, Facebook Messenger and others already have it. Further, new emojis are also expected to come with iOS 12. These are just expected features and none have been confirmed by Apple so far. Just like is the case with iPhone 5s getting the latest iOS update.
