Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the company will be unveiling the successor of the Mi Max 2—Mi Max 3 in July. The device was earlier rumoured to launch at its upcoming annual event in May. The CEO confirmed the July launch of the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 on Chinese social media site, Weibo. Jun said that the Mi Max 3 is not yet ready and would be available by at least July. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is expected to be priced at around Rs 15,000 and could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. Xiaomi might incorporate a 6.99-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and could be powered by a 5,500mAh battery. The smartphone will run Android Oreo operating system and reports suggest that the Mi Max 3 could support wireless charging.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 reportedly will support an iris scanner as well along with a dual-lens rear camera. Xiaomi will be has already sent media media invites for its 2018 annual product launch event in Shenzhen to celebrate its eighth anniversary. News reports suggest that Xiaomi might be launching its Mi 7, Mi 8th anniversary smartphones along with the Mi Max 3 and Mi Band 3 fitness tracker. The Mi Band 3 is expected to flaunt a touchscreen display minus any physical buttons. The company has remains tight-lipped about the specifications and features of Mi Band 3. As for the event, a report by Gizmochina states that Xiaomi is going to launch a variety of products along with its 2018 flagship smartphone. The company is reportedly selling tickets for the event at a price of between 799 Yuan and 1,999 Yuan. The event seems to be a big affair for Xiaomi as the company is claimed to have decided a venue that could seat around 5,000 people.
