In one of its latest updates Facebook-owned messaging app, WhatsApp is again working on adding another feature for its iOS users. In a bid to make messages more secure, WhatsApp is planning to add another layer of security. A Touch ID support to the app would be added to lock the app on the users' phone in order to protect the users' private messages.
According to a report by Fun2Ind.CoM / MsnTarGet.CoM / MobAsk.CoM / Soas.in, WhatsApp is working on the feature and it is currently in high alpha stage. This means that the feature is still under development and is not yet ready for testing.
After the feature is rolled out for the users, a new option in the Privacy Settings-Touch ID would be seen. His feature will another level of protection to the users' chats. The feature will also show FaceID option if the users' smartphone supports FaceID.
The messaging app will ask the users to enter the iPhone passcode, just like the phone's lock system in case the Face ID or the Touch ID stops working. According to the report, no information about the users' fingerprint or passcode would be shared with WhatsApp. The feature sounds more like an iOS update.
As per the report, feature would supports iPhone models like- Phone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone X, iPhone XR and iPhone XS.

The Picture-in-Picture feature on WhatsApp was only available for the iPhone users since the beginning of this year.

The Picture-in-Picture feature on WhatsApp was only available for the iPhone users since the beginning of this year.
According to media reports, the Facebook-owned messaging app is rolling out PiP mode in phases for WhatsApp Web users globally with the latest version 0.3.1846. The users do not have to install the update manually, instead, the PiP mode would be automatically updated once the update is available.
This feature will make multitasking easier with your smartphone as well as with your desktop/ laptop. The WhatsApp PiP feature allows the users to message other users while watching YouTube videos and using other apps in the phone. Until now, a user could not message on WhatsApp and watch YouTube at the same time, but now PiP will help the users to operate multiple features on the single screen at the simultaneously.
How to get PiP feature for your desktop:
- Update your WhatsApp web to version 0.3.1846.
- Once the update is done, the users need to navigate to any chat where he/she have received any link of video.
- The user will find a video card with a blurred thumbnail image along with the platform logo. They have to tap on that.
- Once tapped, the video would be played on the top half of the WhatsApp chat window.
- An option of watching the video in full-screen would also be available.
Notably, once the user exits the WhatsApp Web, the video will stop playing.
How PiP works on smartphones
The PiP feature which was only available for Android users in beta has now been rolled out to all Android users via the WhatsApp version 2.18.380. With the help of this feature, a user will be able to watch YouTube videos or scroll through Facebook and other apps in a small window that would appear in a corner of the phone's screen keeping the WhatsApp chat at the background. As per the convenience, the user will be able to adjust the placement of the small window on the screen.
To get this feature on smartphone, the Android users will have to update their WhatsApp to the latest version via Google Play store. Users will automatically enjoy the feature after updating the app.
