OnePlus 6 Smartphone - Everything You Need to Know

OnePlus 6 Smartphone - Everything You Need to Know
OnePlus has launched OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones in 2017. Both the devices came with top-notch specifications and superior build quality. The devices are launched with “value for money” price tags and have been the popular flagship devices of last year. Now in 2018, the company will be coming up with the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T in the first half and second half of 2018 respectively. Below you find all the leaks and rumors about the OnePlus 6 smartphone.
OnePlus 6 Smartphone with Under Display Fingerprint Sensor to Launch in March Just last month, OnePlus launched the all-new OnePlus 5T smartphone as a year-end upgrade to the OnePlus 5. It even launched the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition smartphone just before the release of the Star Wars: The Last Jedi in India. Now, the new reports reveal some interesting information about the upcoming OnePlus smartphone. While there is no confirmation, the 2018 flagship from OnePlus will be called as OnePlus 6.
While the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 5 smartphones are launched in the month June, the OnePlus 6 is said to hit the market in March 2018. It will be continuing to feature Full Optic AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio as seen on the OnePlus 5T. While the OnePlus 5T came with a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, the upcoming OnePlus 6 is rumored to feature an under-glass fingerprint sensor. At the MWC Shanghai 2017, Vivo showcased the under-glass fingerprint sensor with the Vivo Xplay 6 smartphone. Synaptics already started mass production of the under-display fingerprint sensors, and Vivo will be the first manufacturer to launch the smartphone with an under-glass fingerprint sensor. Based on the leaks, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones from Samsung will continue to feature the rear-facing fingerprint sensor.
The Face Unlock introduced with the OnePlus 5T will also be present on the OnePlus 6. Talking about the other specifications, the OnePlus 6 might launch in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants as seen with the OnePlus 5 and 5T devices. The dual rear cameras and Dash Charge will be continued as well. We can expect even more leaks in the coming weeks. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details about the upcoming OnePlus 6 smartphone!
OnePlus 6 to Come with 19:9 Display & Snapdragon 845 SoC Earlier this week, the TVC of the OPPO R15 smartphone revealed its complete design. If the OnePlus goes with the same strategy as 2017, then the upcoming OnePlus 6 will look same as the OPPO R15. While the OPPO R15 packs higher mid-range specs, the OnePlus 6 will be coming with flagship specifications. Firstly, the device might come with metal frame and glass back body. It will be coming with the model number A6000.
Under the hood, the Oneplus 6 will come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. Talking about the display, we expect the OnePlus 6 to feature a 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2246 x 1080 pixels) resolution. While the OnePlus 5T came with 18:9 aspect ratio, the OnePlus 6 with display notch will change the aspect ratio to 19:9. and since it comes with a notch, it offers unusual 2280 × 1080 pixels resolution. Just like the last year’s OnePlus smartphones, the upcoming device might also come in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants.
On the Antutu benchmark test, the OnePlus 6 is said to have scored 2,76,510, which slightly higher than the 2,73,741 score of Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. Instead of the under display fingerprint sensor, the company will be continuing with the traditional rear facing fingerprint sensor. The OnePlus will continue to offer dual cameras on the rear and single camera on the front. The OnePlus 6 should be going official in the coming months. Source
OnePlus 6 Might Sport Gigabit LTE Modem OnePlus will be coming with their new OnePlus 6 flagship smartphone in mid-2018. Based on the leaks, the device will be coming with a display notch and dual rear cameras. It will be offering 19:9 AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. Just like Oneplus 5 devices, the upcoming OnePlus 6 might come in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants. Now, the new rumors suggest the OnePlus 6 to include Snapdragon X16 Gigabit LTE modem.
The Snapdragon X16 modem will be offering download speeds up to 1 Gbps and upload speeds up to 150 Mbps. The recently launched Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones also came with Gigabit LTE modems. In comparison, the Oneplus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones only support up to 600 Mbps download speeds.
OnePlus 6 Spotted in Press Render
OnePlus is yet to unveil its 2018 flagship devices and the leaks hint it to happen very soon. While the first look of the upcoming OnePlus 6 is already leaked in China, we now got a better view with the leaked render from Evan Blass. On the specs sheet, the device will be competing with the other 2018 flagship devices.
However, the company will be opting for the minimalistic design to keep the price low. It comes with a metallic frame and wooden finish back panel. The dual cameras are vertically aligned in the center of the device. Just below the rear cameras is the oval-shaped fingerprint sensor. On the bottom rear, it is mentioned as “Designed by OnePlus.” The company is retaining the 3.5mm headphone jack.
There is also a USB Type-C port, loudspeaker, and a primary microphone on the bottom edge. The volume rocker is placed on the left edge of the device. While we don’t have the front view of the OnePlus 6 smartphone, it might look similar to the OPPO R15 and OPPO F7 smartphones with the notch display.
OnePlus 6 Confirmed to Sport Display Notch
As expected, OnePlus 6 is now officially confirmed to come with a notch on the top of the display. Till date, we have seen many other Android smartphone manufacturers embracing the iPhone X-like notch. Even Vivo and OPPO from OnePlus’s parent company have recently launched their latest high-end smartphones with display notch. The notch on the upcoming OnePlus 6 holds the selfie camera, earpiece, and other sensors (from right to left).
While the OnePlus 5T launched with 18:9 display, the upcoming OnePlus 6 will be offering 19:9 aspect ratio. We will mostly see the same Optic AMOLED panel with rounded corners. The navigation gestures which are now available for the OnePlus 5T devices running on Oxygen OS beta might make its way into the official build with the OnePlus 6. On the right edge, we can also see the textured power button.
OnePlus 6 with Snapdragon 845, 8GB RAM, & 256GB Storage Officially Teased OnePlus is expected to unveil the new OnePlus 6 in the first week of May. The company had already confirmed the upcoming OnePlus 6 to come with a notch display. The leaked image revealed it to sport USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio jack. Now, the company has officially mentioned the device to come powered by 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. This is the same chipset that also powers the majority of the other Android flagship smartphones in 2018.
While the last year’s OnePlus 5T came with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, the upcoming OnePlus 6 will be offering 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. However, the base variant might continue to offer 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. Since the OnePlus 6 is expected to launch in the next few weeks, we might see more leaks in the coming days.
