Fake Banking apps are making a comeback. As we already covered, there are fake apps of ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, Axis and even HDFC Bank on the play store.

These fake banking apps may have compromised banking data of more than 160,000 people in the country recently.

The fake banking apps have are now targeting account holders from as many as seven Indian banks: SBI, ICICI, IOB, Axis, BOB, Yes Bank and Citibank. Digital banking in the country has lately ended up in more online frauds.

While the banks and government both are working hard to build a secure digital financial system in the country, these fake apps continue to lure customers with fraudulent offers. The fake bank apps are a close copy of the real banking apps confusing new internet users.

According to the experts, these fake app developers lure account holders by promising huge rewards like free cash, mobile data and zero-interest loans once they down the app.

Fake bank apps will continue to lure around customers. It’s you who can keep yourself safe from such fraudsters. Here are some tips to stay alert against such fake banking apps:

The developer’s name is always there in the app. Banks will not have any individual, so see if the developer is an organization or not. Also, see if there’s any website mentioned. Banks generally have their official website mentioned with details.

Bank apps are quite popular on the play store. Check the number of downloads. Fake apps will not have much of the downloads. If you see only a few downloads, there are high chances that this app is fake. If its a newly launched, Google and go the bank’s site and follow the official link. 

Go through the app description. Fake apps do not have well-explained descriptions. You can easily identify the right from the wrong information given. Also genuine apps properly explain the details, features and the uses of the application.

Go through a few reviews. If you found something fishy, do not install. Chances are that you will find reviews from users who have used the app and found it to be fake. If there are only a few reviews, and all of them just have 5-star ratings without anything in specific, probably the reviews are fake.

The best way to figure out whether a banking app is fake or not, is to check the bank’s website, and then click on the link to download the app. Besides, you can also call their customer care or visit the branch to verify.

Even if you have downloaded a fake bank app and quickly found out that it’s a fake, immediately uninstall. If you may have logged in or granted access to files and details, get rid of the residual files. Also, to be extra safe, change your banking passwords.

In case you already made a transaction on the app, immediately rush to your branch, or any branch of your respective bank. If you are able to move, call your bank and inform that they should block your account.

नई दिल्ली। आधार को लेकर कई लोगों के मन में आशंका है कि कहीं इसकी डिटेल्स दूसरे के हाथ लगने पर दुरुपयोग तो नहीं होगा? बीते दिनों खबरें भी आई थीं कि बड़ी संख्या में लोगों की आधार कार्ड डिटेल्स सरकारी वेबसाइट से लीक हो गई हैं। बहरहाल, अब इसका इलाज भी कर दिया गया है।

UIDAI की वेबसाइट https://uidai.gov.in/ पर बायोमेट्रिक डिटेल्स को लॉक करने की सुविधा दी गई है। बायोमेट्रिक डिटेल्स में आंखों की पुतलियों की पहचान के साथ ही फिंगर प्रिंट और कार्डधारक की फोटो होती है। फिंगर प्रिंट और आंखों की पुतलियों की डिटेल्स सबसे अहम है। इनके माध्यम से ही कार्डधारक की पहचान होती है। इसके अलावा आधार में नाम, पता, उम्र, लिंग, मोबाइल नंबर और ईमेल ए़ड्रेस भी होता है।

दरअसल, जैसे ही बायोमेट्रिक डिटेल्स को लॉक किया जाता है, कोई भी (यहां तक कि कार्डधारक भी) उसका उपयोग नहीं कर सकता है। अधिकारियों के मुताबिक, बायोमेट्रिक डिटेल्स पूरी तरह लॉक हो जाती है। यदि कार्डधारक को कहीं पहचान के लिए इस्तेमाल करना है तो वह कुछ देर के लिए अनलॉक कर सकता है। उपयोग होने के बाद यह डिटेल्स फिर लॉक की जा सकती हैं। यह बेहद आसान है। लॉक करने से आधार से मिलने वाली सुविधाओं पर कोई असर नहीं होगा।

UIDAI की वेबसाइट पर कार्डधारकों को सलाह दी गई है कि वे हर 10 साल में अपनी बायोमेट्रिक डिटेल्स अपडेट कराएं। यदि किसी बीमारी, इनफेक्शन या अन्य कारण से बायोमेट्रिक डिटेल्स में बदलाव आया है, तो भी आधार अपडेट किया जाना जरूरी है।

भारत ने लगातार सीजफायर के उल्लंघन करने पर पाकिस्तान को कड़ी चेतावनी दी है। डीजीएमओ स्तर की बातचीत में भारत ने साफ कहा है कि अगर पाकिस्तान की सेना आतंकियों का घुसपैठ में साथ देती है तो मुंहतोड़ जवाब मिलेगा।

पाकिस्तान की फायरिंग का भारत ने भी लगातार मुंहतोड़ जवाब दिया, जिसके बाद पाकिस्तान को बैकफुट पर आना पड़ा और कल सुबह पाकिस्तान के डायरेक्टर जनरल मिलिट्री ऑपरेशन मेजर जनरल साहिर शमशाद मिर्जा ने भारत के डायरेक्टर जनरल मिलिट्री ऑपरेशंस लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल ए के भट्ट को फोन किया।

पाकिस्तान के डीजीएमओ ने कहा, ‘’आपके जवानों ने पाकिस्तानी सेना को निशाना बनाया जिससे पाकिस्तान के चार जवानों की मौत हो गई।’’ पाकिस्तान के इस नापाक उलाहने पर भारतीय डीजीएमओ ने कहा, ‘’बॉर्डर पर जो भी युद्ध विराम का उल्लंघन हो रहा है वो आप लोग (पाकिस्तान) कर रहे हैं।

 हैरानी की बात ये है कि पाकिस्तानी डीजीएमओ जब भारतीय डीजीएमओ से शांति के लिए बात कर रहे थे तब भी पाकिस्तान की ओर से फायरिंग बंद नहीं हुई थी।

Yes, the new face of India has been chosen--Miss Haryana Manushi Chhillar has been declared Miss India 2017. 

Days of hard work and dedication of 30 aspirants of the coveted title, culminated in the grand finale, held on the night of June 25, at Yash Raj Film Studio, Mumbai.

At the judges' panel were seated some of the leading faces of the fashion and Bollywood fraternity. Those given the task of choosing the winner included Arjun Rampal, Manish Malhotra, Illeana D' Cruz, Bipasha Basu, Abhishek Kapoor, Vidyut Jammwal and Miss World 2016 Stehanie Del Valle.

Besides walking the ramp for fashion designers, each of the contestants had to go through rounds of screening, before the winner was chosen. Contestants had to voice their opinion on various social issues and awareness. 

Shefali Sood, Sana Dua, Priyanka Kumari, Manushi Chillar, Anukriti Gusain and Aishwarya Devan were chosen as top finalists of the contest. And the finalists were asked one question--the lesson that they would take back after spending a month with 30 contestants.

To that, our winner for this year, Manushi replied, "Throughout the journey I had a vision and with this came a belief, I can change the world.''

Manushi was crowned by Stephanie Del Valle. Miss Jammu and Kashmir, Sana Dua, and Miss Bihar, Priyanka Kumari were declared the first and second runner-up respectively.

Superstars Ranbir Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput and Alia Bhatt, and singer Sonu Nigam entertained the audience with their performances.

Almost 50% of India’s current telecom users are staring at an impossible reality: Their SIM connections can be disconnected if they have obtained their connection via Aadhaar-KYC mode.

This sounds ridiculous, but this can become the reality.

Aadhaar-Only KYC Mode = Mobile Disconnection

Remember the days when telecom companies were luring, forcing, coercing you to link Aadhaar with your mobile, and get a new SIM by only using Aadhaar?

And you trusted them, and gave your Aadhaar number for getting a new SIM, and doing a new KYC for your existing mobile?

Well, it seems that it was a mistake.

Now, as per fresh reports coming in, all those SIMs which were activated with only Aadhaar as KYC can be disconnected.

The numbers can be as high as 50 crore mobile users, or almost 50% of current telecom users in India!

There are two reasons.

First, the recent Supreme Court ruling, which ordered all private companies to destroy Aadhaar related data of customers. Now, UIDAI has asked to delink Aadhaar of users based on this ruling, and an ‘exit plan’ has been sought.

In case telecom firms do delink the Aadhaar, then there will be no KYC left.

And as per Telecom Ministry’s regulations, this means disconnection, unless other KYC is used.

And the second reason is that, in the month of March, telecom companies were ordered to destroy all pre-Aadhaar KYC documents, as they were undergoing digitalized, Aadhaar KYC.

Now, as those KYC documents are destroyed, and the current digitalized Aadhaar is delinked, there is no KYC left.

And this means disconnection.

The only solution seems is a new KYC, which would be without Aadhaar.

And this massive exercise means more headache for the users, and telecom operators, as a new round of awareness, execution and follow-up is required.

This time without Aadhaar.

Telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan has met representatives of various telecom operators, and have discussed this complex issue.

She assured that whatever happens, the subscribers won’t be hassled.

She said, “We want to ensure that it is a smooth transition with little problems for subscribers.”

Non-Aadhaar KYC can be: passport, driving licence, voter’s card, electricity bill, gas bill, PAN card.

A massive fire has broken out near the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Knightsbridge, London. Eyewitnesses shared dramatic videos of black smoke billowing out of the five-star luxury hotel. There is no information about any casualties at this point.
Fifteen fire engines are on the scene, and the surrounding roads have been closed. Nobody at the hotel picked up when Business Insider called for comment. The Mandarin Oriental hotel is known for its ritzy clientele, which have included Morgan Freeman, Lily Allen, and Middle Eastern royalty. It is also home to the restaurants Dinner by Heston Blumenthal and Bar Boulud.

Bullet train tracks alongside the Mumbai-Nagpur expressway proposed. When functional it will drastically cut down travel time along the 800 km stretch. Spanish consultant Ineco’s feasibility study gave the project a green light A joint venture between the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the Indian Railway might soon give rise to a first of a kind coordinated transportation project. The project is a rail line along the proposed Nagpur Mumbai expressway for Bullet train and once functional, this will cut down the travel time between the two cities drastically. The ministry is already in the process of acquiring land for it and the rail lines might come up in the middle or parallel to the 800km highway.
For this, bridges, tunnels and flyover constructions will also be necessary and will be done in accordance with the ground situation and the feasibility report drawn up by Spanish consultants Ineco. “Spanish consultant Ineco has conducted a feasibility study on constructing a high-speed rail line along the proposed Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway and the reports are positive,” a senior Railway Ministry official told IANS.
The Mumbai-Nagpur expressway is a part of the diamond quadrilateral, and this rail project will reduce the travel time for both on road and train travellers since the elevated rail tracks and fully access-controlled expressway will ensure an uninterrupted high-speed journey.

The Indian Army’s shipment of Tata Safari Storme 4X4 has been recently spotted on road. As per news reports, the Indian Army had given the contract to Tata Motors last year to upgrade its fleet which is currently relying on the ageing Maruti Gypsy vehicles. Tata Motors will be supplying 3,192 units of the Tata Storme SUV under the contract in the near future. The deliveries have already begun and the first badge of the Army-version of the Tata Storme 4X4 SUV grabbed eye-balls on the roads. So, what’s different in the Army-version of the Tata Safari Storme 4X4 SUV? The car has cleared the Indian Army’s General Service 800 vehicle classification signifying that the SUV will have to come with a hard top with a load capacity of minimum of 800 KG along with air-conditioning. The vehicle flaunts a matte-green colour.
The entire car has been painted green including wheels and the badging. The front chrome has been blackened to avoid any refection. Tata has added a big rear trailer hook which is mandatory for military vehicle along with a jerry can mount on the rear fenders. There is a radio antenna on the bonnet. Also, the vehicle features blacked-out lamps on both front and rear bumpers. The entire car has been made to be non-reflective and low-profile to maintain stealth. As far as the interiors of the car is concerned, the vehicle flaunts a dual-tone finish and similar to civilian version that is seen on-roads. Also, the vehicle has got heavy-duty suspensions along with underbody protection for serious off-roading. Talking about the engine, the vehicle is powered a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission offering 400Nm of torque aided by four-wheel drive mechanism with both low and high range option. The engine is capable of producing 154bhp of peak power.

Google has added a new feature to its popular photo-sharing app Google Photos with the latest update. Google Photos will now offer a Star and Heart option on photographs, the company announced via its Twitter handle for the app. The two different reaction icons will serve two different purposes. The star-shaped icon will serve as “Favourites” button while the heart-shaped icon as “Like” button. Google said these features would start rolling out this week. The star button is designed for your own photos, and the option as such appear only for your own photos gallery. It is aimed to allow users to mark photos as a favourite. Tapping the star icon collects all the favourites into one automatically generated album, and works much like the heart icon in Apple Photos. To set any of your photo as a favourite, open the photo in full screen and then tap the star icon located towards the top right corner.
Once a person marks a photo as a favourite, these shots will appear in a new Favorites album. However, favourites won’t work on photos that are shared with you, unless you add the same photo to your own Google Photos library. Meanwhile, the heart icon is more of a revamped version of the “like” button and is available when viewing photos that friends or family have shared on the platform. Only those photos that are shared with you can be liked. The reaction is available both for individual photos and entire albums. When someone likes a photo or an album, a heart icon with a name appears underneath. These features are pretty great for the default photo sharing app as favourites icon beefs up Google Photos’ existing options to help users find photos faster, while the heart icon essentially serves as a social tool. Though seemingly minor additions, but it did take Google quite a lot of time to bring these features to Photos. The company was working on these features since last October. The latest features follow a few other changes to Google Photos shared by the company at its I/O developers conference earlier this month. Google announced new Photos features including quick edits enabled by AI to improve photos, colour pop, and the ability to colourise old monochrome images.

As per Forbes, to rank these people, they considered hundreds of candidates and measured their power along four dimensions. Recently, Zuckerberg faced a lot of flak when his social media platform was involved in the controversy of leaking the data of 80 million users with political consulting firm Cambridge Analytica.
5. Jack Ma : Co-founder and chairman of Alibaba Group, Jack Ma, ranks 21 on the list of most powerful people as per Forbes. Ma also has stake in Chinese entertainment industry firms Huayi Brothers and Beijing Enlight Media.
6. Tim Cook : At 24th position on the list of most-powerful people in the world is Apple CEO Tim Cook. Cook became the CEO of the company in 2011, when co-founder Steve Jobs resigned from the position and became the chairman of the board. Before that, Cook served as the company's Chief Operating Officer.
7. Ma Huateng : Chairman of the Chinese internet giant Tencent Holdings, Ma Huateng is the 27th-most powerful person in the world and seventh-most powerful tech executive. Among the most-popular products of the Tencent Group is instant messaging app WeChat that has over a billion users globally. The Group also has a 12% stake in Snapchat-parent Snap, according to a November 2017 filing; it also made a pre-IPO investment in Snap.

9. Sergey Brin : The second Google co-founder, Sergey Brin, has also found his place on the list of world’s most-powerful people from the tech industry. Currently serving as the President of Google parent company Alphabet, Brin has a global rank of 35 on the Forbes’ List of most-powerful people in the world. Back in Google, he was the head of the secretive Google X division, which made the in-famous Google glasses.
10. Satya Nadella : Next up is the Indian origin Satya Nadella, who became the CEO of Microsoft in 2014. Google, as expected, announced some new features in its most used products – Google Photos, Gmail, News and more at the Google IO 2018 conference. These products now have deeper integration of AI. You can now compose emails quicker and edit images with ‘one-tap’ actions in Photos.
Gmail In Gmail, Google has introduced a new feature called ‘Smart Compose’ wherein the AI will draft emails for the user. This includes everything from greeting to your closing and even suggesting complete sentences in your emails. “Because it operates in the background, you can write an email like you normally would, and Smart Compose will offer suggestions as you type. When you see a suggestion that you like, click the “tab” button to use it,” says the blog post. This new feature will be rolling out to all the users in the next few weeks. It will also be made available for G Suite customers in the workplace in the coming months.
Google Photos In Google Photos, the search giant has introduced ‘One-Tap actions’ where users can easily edit images by brightening, sharing, rotating and arching them. “These suggested actions are powered by machine learning, which means you only see them on relevant photos. You can easily tap the suggestions to complete the action,” adds the blog post. The new photo creation tool plays with pops of color. It uses AI to detect the images’ subject and leave them in colour with the background in black and white. “You'll see these AI-powered creations in the Assistant tab of Google Photos,” says Google. The company has even introduced Google Photos partner program that gives developers the tools to support Google Photos in their apps.
Google Assistant Google Assistant also gets a bunch of updates that make it more naturally conversational, visually assistive and more helpful in general. One of the key announcements was that the Assistant now supports six different voices, which is possible using Google’s WaveNet technology from DeepMind. Furthermore, the new ‘Continued Conversation’ feature lets you talk to Google Assistant without giving ‘Hey Google’ voice commands over and again. It can carry out multiple actions as well. The search giant also introduced ‘Smart Displays’ that lets you quickly glance at responses provided by the Google Assistant. It will give users a quick snapshot of how their day looks like along with helpful suggestions based on the time of the day, users’ location and other parameters. Assistant is also coming to Google Maps navigation with a low visual profile to give you more information while you keep your hands on the steering wheel.
Google News Google has updated its News app with deeper AI integration. The ‘new’ app uses a different set of AI techniques “to take a constant flow of information as it hits the web, analyze it in real time and organize it into storylines,” says Trystan Upstill, Google News Engineer and product lead. The app now comes with a ‘For You’ section wherein users can stay updated with all the topics of their interest. “We start with a briefing of five stories that Google News has organized for you—a mix of the most important headlines, local news and the latest developments on the topics you’re interested in,” adds Upstill. The ‘Full Coverage’ feature shows a news story from different sources. This will let you see top headlines from different sources, videos, local news reports, FAQs, social commentary, and a timeline for stories. Furthermore, the Newsstand tab lets you easily search for a source and follow the news coming from that source. The updated app starts rolling today.
